Dishonored is a stealth-action game developed by Arkane that deserves every bit of praise it has received. As Corvo Attano, you are thrust into a dangerous conspiracy surrounding the Empress of the capital city of Dunwall. Moving through shadows and across rooftops, you must eliminate the villainous conspirators using either lethal or non-lethal methods, choices that alter both the course of the game and the future of your ward, Princess Emily. The story is brilliant. From the very first moments, you are hooked by the plot and driven by the pursuit of vengeance against those who wronged you and the people you care about. The narrative remains consistently strong throughout the entire game, featuring a memorable cast of characters and a fantastic grand finale. Dunwall is an exceptionally well-realized setting with unique visuals that portray a decaying city and its plague-ridden inhabitants. Its decadent steampunk aesthetic perfectly complements the stealth-focused gameplay, filling the world with bizarre contraptions that can be used by you or against you. The combat, movement, and special abilities are impressively designed, giving the player precise control over every action, allowing many creative uses and replayability. Few games offer the same level of freedom and fluidity. Despite its relatively short campaign of only ten missions, each level is sizable enough to provide hours of enjoyment. Combined with the game's two endings, every mission can play out quite differently, with distinct encounters, dialogue, and consequences depending on your choices. Dishonored is clearly a game made by developers who cared deeply about their craft, and the result is a masterpiece of the stealth genre. Unfortunately, its three DLC are considerably weaker in terms of content, characters, and story.

Dishonored is a great game. Very good story and gameplay is very fun as well I love that you can sneak or be chaotic and the different endings.

Même en 2026, Dishonored reste une référence du jeu d'infiltration. La liberté offerte au joueur est impressionnante : on peut aborder chaque mission de dizaines de façons différentes, que ce soit en restant totalement discret ou en utilisant les pouvoirs de manière créative. Ce qui m'a le plus marqué, c'est sa direction artistique. Elle n'a quasiment pas vieilli et conserve une identité visuelle unique qui fait encore son effet aujourd'hui. L'univers, l'ambiance et le level design sont tout simplement excellents. Malgré son âge, le jeu se joue encore extrêmement bien et reste, à mes yeux, un incontournable du genre. Si vous aimez les immersive sims ou les jeux d'infiltration, c'est un classique qu'il faut absolument faire.
