Amazing
A very neat adventure, though shorter than I expected. I thought the puzzles were easier and less complex than those in Quern, but still quite challenging, creative, and enjoyable. The hint system is very well done and prevented most of the frustration I might have had. They're very good at pointing you in the right direction and giving you enough information to connect the dots without just spelling out the puzzle for you. I had some minor annoyances with the controls. In particular, choosing to hold a photo in your hand, or to put the photo away, never felt intuitive to me. Held photos and items also have a tendency to block things you're trying to look at unless you get them at just the right angle. Navigating the photo album one page turn at a time got to be a bit laborious after accumulating a large number of them, though I never tried out the "Favorites" function. Music and sound design are pretty top notch. I especially like how the music seamlessly changes as you navigate between areas. The visuals are quite pretty, and I like the low-fidelity style, though I do wonder how the beautiful environments would look with a style more like Quern's. There's a "dirty camera lens" sort of effect on the screen that I'm not fan of, and I thought the bloom was a bit overboard. I'll echo what others have said about the story. It's rather sparse, and ends abruptly, but I thought there was plenty there to be able to follow everything and stay invested. On that note I will say it's quite obvious, judging by what I remember from the old Kickstarter page, as well as some locked off areas in the game itself, that a lot of what the developers planned to include had to be cut from the game. It honestly made me quite sad when I got to the ending, realizing I wasn't going to visit the beach or the hiking trails or the great wall. The developers seemed to have quite a fleshed out world on Dimhaven planned for us and I feel like they only managed to complete a shadow of it. Still, it was a great experience for what it was!
Alors personnellement j'adore, je suis tout frai tout fruit de jeu d'énigme. Je vous le recommande mes petits poisson des iles dorée de Dimhaven
Beautiful, if flawed. The first few hours are nearly as perfect as the genre has seen. Too much of the mid to late game is fussing over complex inputs to puzzles you already understand. Great art, music, and vibes. There's a lot to love and clearly the devs' hearts and minds are all over it!
Great game - very tough puzzles. One of the hardest puzzle games i've played. I recommend for people who liked Quern-Undying Lands, Obduction, Riven etc
A couple of the puzzles made me feel like a total idiot, but it was overall a very good game. But puzzle games should have a couple puzzles like that. I'm just glad other, smarter people, solved it before me and put their solutions on YouTube. Thanks for a great game!
Great Puzzle game with a story that keeps you following along. The puzzles where fun to solve, and I appreciated the way many where build and done <3
so hard but very fun
Tricky puzzles that are solvable, great atmosphere and world building. If you liked Myst or Riven, this will make you feel right at home. The puzzles are less contrived though. Gorgeous art style and music as well. Runs very smooth on Steam Deck.
The game has it's good points and some really bad points. Almost all the puzzle encounters in the game, begin when nothing happens after interacting with it. Push a button, nothing happens. Flick a switch, nothing happens, Pull a lever Nothing happens. Door knob, It's locked. That is the experience of the puzzle design of Dimhaven. Nothing happens when you try things out. It is not like Myst or Riven where you manipulate levers to progress through a game. It makes for an unsatisfying experience to explore a world when things do nothing. Instead, this games puzzle design is all about taking pictures and comparing your pictures with things in the world. You then have use a notepad or draw on your own pictures with diagrams and numbers to order things around. I would consider this an extremely difficult and awkward form of puzzle design. Almost maddening difficulty for me. The puzzle near the end was so difficult I could not figure out the picture myself. It was possible to be just a percentage point off the final solution. Maddening. I had to look up a walkthrough to finish the game. Frustratingly awkward. It was less Eureka and more 'finally' when figuring out things. looking at pictures over and over again got old. I also accidentally took pictures many times and needed to delete them. Awkward controls with inventory and getting things to work in the world. Click and drag mechanics with levers, not a good sign in any puzzle game. Some puzzles had some extremely awkward manipulations just to enter numbers. Frustrating and Challenging is my main summarization of Dimhaven. For puzzle lovers enjoy. Good things. I like the look of the game. Interesting world. It went with a pleasant art aesthetic of pixelated simple graphics in 3D that I liked. The music and audio was also nice. The game is also rather short. Not many puzzles in total but they are very plumbing overworked and difficult. I spent probably too much time on some of them. Again I was unable to get the final puzzle. I'm going to give the game a like because I finished it rather than bailing completely.
