DA is a great platformer with some interesting ideas, but don’t be fooled by the welcoming visuals. It can be very challenging if you’re trying to get all the achievements. The main paths are kept easy but the point is to find all the collectibles/secrets, which is going to require more skill. You can even miss a playable character with its own unique move. There are 3 ‘worlds’ connected in a metroidvania kind of way. The main gimmick is switching between different animals seamlessly to perform a chain of moves in order to reach a spot. This feels fantastic when you master the controls, and it’s so cool to watch. I love the music in this game, one of them is still on my mind. The sound effects are also very good and the graphics are just lovely. The achievements are fine for what this game is trying to do. There is even new game plus where it’s slightly more challenging, the maps are not fully visible before exploring them and all the playable characters are unlocked right away. It was lots of fun going through the game that way. The flaws are mainly 2. I’ve probably encountered a bug where the map shows I have all the blue gems while I was missing one. The developer tried his best to help me by recording a video with the location of every blue gem, but I had them all. I ended up getting everything in new game plus again. The controls are going to be problematic if you’re playing with a controller and using the analogue stick. This just doesn’t mesh well with chaining moves reliably/quickly, especially when you have to use directions to pull certain moves. I switched to using the d-pad near the end of the first run, this made the controls much better in new game plus. This game can be very short. If you rush towards the ending, you might be able to get there within an hour. It might take 2 hours if you play comfortably by getting most of the collectibles that you encounter. But if you try to get everything, that’s where it can take 4-5 hours on the first run. It took me around 7 hours to play the game twice and get all the achievements. The price is less than €9 and I absolutely think it’s worth it. You don’t play this kind of game to rush through it, the levels are brilliantly designed. I’m very happy with the €2,63 I paid when it was on sale. Don’t sleep on it if you’re fan of the genre.

O jogo tem gráficos refinados e jogabilidade interessante, porém, é muito curto - quando estava ficando muito bom, me vi no final do jogo (creio que mais duas áreas, totalizando cinco, seria o ideal). Outra coisa que acho que poderia melhorar seria o balanceamento do local secreto opcional na terceira área - aquilo beira o pixel perfect, e nem todos pode m curtir esse tipo de abordagem (pelo menos é algo opcional e não influencia no final do jogo). No mais, recomendo bastante o jogo para quem gosta de metroidvanias mais curtos.

Very fun game that will catch your attention! Fun levels to play, balanced challenges, and it improved a lot of things from its predecessor, Rift Racoon. Highly recommend, specially if you like platform games :)

JOGASSO!! Terminei 100% e foi extremamente gratificante coletar todos os itens e derrotar todos os chefes! Mesmo não sendo um grande fã de metroidvania, me diverti bastante. O jogo é desafiador na medida certa. A parte opcional mais difícil foi um desafio e tanto. Recomendo demais, é um platformer muito divertido e cativante.

There is a total of ZERO regrets in buying this masterpiece! The only regret for you will be if you don't buy it! This game is totally AMAZING! I'm feeling trully happy about completing it! Everything is so enchanting, the mechanics are made very smoothly, the cozy feeling about it and the pixel art, the music, the sounds. Brings me back to an retro era that I was not even part of. The characters, the story, everything in this game matches in a way that makes you go ''WOW this is so satisfying!'' and it is for sure. I had a very fun and cozy time playing Dimensional Animals and deadly recommend it, so you can feel the same way as me. Thank you, Dimensional Animals! 1000000/10!

It's stylish, sounds great, feels excellent to play, and is overall really very good. The level design and art direction are both quite polished, and it delivers a short but quite sweet experience overall. I do think the difficulty throughout could be ramped up a bit higher, but there is a burst of optional, severe difficulty towards the end for anybody who so desires to pursue it. I had no problem finding all the little collectibles on my first playthrough and there's even a harder NG+ option if the first go-around wasn't enough. Definitely worth the price if you're looking for a tasty metroidvania to scratch that itch.

Dimensional Animals realmente me conquistou de primeira, vale muito a pena jogar! 'Detalhe não sou muito fã de jogos em 2D'. O jogo realmente me deixou em um estado de relaxamento (pelo menos comigo foi assim rsrs), fora que é bem divertido, tem vários locais "misteriosos" e cada mapa tem suas particularidades, sensacional! Estou quaseee platinando!
