Such an amazing game. Its digiworld 1 taken to the next level and i enjoy it so much ive bought it again on pc after playing countless hours on the playstation. ive played every digimon game but time something and this is the best and closest thing to digimon world 1 for nostalgic fans. The difficulty can be confusing and theres no Good wiki to cover questions that the game does admittedly not answer but if youre a fan i think youll enjoy it. I say this with nothing but love but i would HIGHLY recommend a few mods to play with. Sure that sounds trash for anyone interested in a new game but If youre going for plat and want to max everything you need materials to do so, which you get from harvesting areas in the overworld. It can def be a slog. You can harvest a few materials from an area a couple times. But you have to do it A LOT, like, a lot a lot. You can harvest an area sometimes 3+ times and it locks you in an animation for 5 seconds so it adds up like crazy when you have to harvest 100's of times. Instant harvest mod - harvests as many times as possible instead of watching numerous harvest actions. Auto run always mod - You no longer have to hold a button to use your infinite run, simple and weirdly not basegame. (you can also change runspeed!) Back to title screen mod - For some strange reason the only option is the quit the game. So if youre saving before a battle or whatever reason and want to reload you have to literally close the game to reload your save, this mod changes it to obviously, the title screen. These were absurdly gamechanging in a sense that it made it 100X more fun and fulfilling to play without feeling like "cheating". Just quality of life stuff for an already amazing game. As said before i already loved it before on console but figured id thrown that in there. give it try its great.
one of the best entries in the digimon series imo
i got 2 pets that i own, they do as i say, slavery at its finest.
The World series captures the initial essence of Digimon that made it so popular back in the day—it being a pet simulator with those Tamagochis that were released with the anime’s popularity. With the game’s sole purpose of being a simulation of all aspects of taking care of Digimons, it can be quite a grind due to the fact your Digimon actually die, but the cool thing is they reincarnate and your hard work with each Digimon builds off of each other through the stats you increase on each one. My number one tip for if you’re new, is to really pay attention to the icons above your Digimon’s head; you’ll want to prioritize taking care of these requests usually, especially if it needs to go to the restroom—always take that request the most serious and use a toilet, since it can ruin the chances of certain evolutions. And most importantly: have fun and enjoy the process. The game is pretty what you see, is what you get; it just unravels a lot in terms of quality of life and having more control over your Digimon care, as you add on more services to your town to ease the grind.
terrible port. not fun at all.
I literally asked for this for my birthday and got let down. I was having a great time until I wasnt. Both Digimon were growing well. I was training and everything. Digivolutions happened. Then all of a sudden one of them got some weird mask icon and kept making noise. Nothing i did fixed it, he just kept losing HP and MP. Looked around, tried figuring out where to go or who to talk to to get it cured, nada. "maybe sleep will fix it." it didnt. I dont even know what I got afflicted with or how it happened, there was no real trigger and I have no idea how to fix it. I should not have to look up a fully fleshed out guide to be able to start playing the game. Also both Digimon hated my guts by the 60 minute mark. Im not asking for handholding but damn TLDR; couldnt figure out how to fix a random effect that appeared randomly or how to actually raise mood. gave up.
i love thegame like the oldgame digimon world 1 so good
STOP DYING PLEASE ;-;
I didn't expect going in to 100% it. I went in completely blind and used my Digimon World 1 knowledge to decode the strategies for the game. After finishing the main story, I was so satisfied with the game that I decided to look up guides online to do all the end game content and even did some really grindy achievements. I lost 10 HOURS of gameplay to soft locks but still wanted to play. Highly recommended for fans of Digimon World 1. For those unfamiliar with DW1, I don't really recommend it because it is more accessible than DW1 but still a very confusing game with many arbitrary knowledge checks that you have no way of passing without much trial and error. If you like an RPG that is also a puzzle that will make you "suffer" until you figure it out, then you'll have a good time.
If you like the daily stress of having to raise children on top of keeping yourself alive and happy at the same time, you will love this game. It's like having twins or siblings that are about a year apart that like to fight other children.
