I finally found a decent software for managing my multi branch dialog. There's kot of better option than this program (Such as articy:draft 3 and Arcweave). However those softwares are pricey for Indie game developer like me and Dialogue Managaer is a perfect choice for now.
The functionality in the software looks good, and gives you many possibilities, but alas I have one major problem. I am working using High Resolution screens, on a Mac, and any resolution higher than 1920 makes it troublesome to work with. So this means that I need to change my resolution of my screen each time I use it, or want to consult it. It would be nice that the software would be made more resolution sensitive than it is now.
simple and convenient program, I hope for long-term support from the developer.
Very nice tool, the only problem I found is that the json export creates a mixed array for the characters list, with strings and numbers. This is a bit of a problem with strongly-typed languages like kotlin (that I'm using), so I need to edit the array each time I export it.. It would be cool to avoid creating mixed array and just put everything as string
TLDR: This tool simply creates a json-file which represents a dialogue. Of course you still need to develop your own dialogue engine to read these json-files. It has its flaws which you need to know. Otherwise it pretty fast can become very frustrating Pro: - nice editor, feels good to use - support for multiple languages - different answers - Execute (simple but it does its job) - %-chance for branch - json format is cleaned up and doesnt contain unneccesary data Contra: - Export-function overrides the save-json by default, which is not importable anymore. You need to save before leaving the editor. Otherwise:RIP - Only 2 Zoom-Levels make it difficult to see everything if it becomes more complex - Mousewheel should be used to zoom, instead of scroll down and up. Nice to Have: - Add "_export.json" if you press export OR save the exports in an "export"-folder. - I would like to have a feature to show possible answers if specific condition is met. - Use same Settings (language, characters ...) for multiple projects Still a great tool!
