Less fun than Deathsmiles II
This is a spectacular game, which I ignored for years (the price tag seemed a bit spicy). Now that I rediscovered it, I can say it is (still) hard as nails, but in a good way, amazing presentation, crisp gameplay, killer soundtrack, and a lot of options in the menus. Does not want to reinvent the wheel, which is a big plus for me. What it does, it does right. It's one of the best shmups on Steam.
"You can fly without fear, You will fly without fear, You are determined to fly without fear." 10/10 game, late 80s/early 90s Sega magic. Definitely some Thunder Force worship going on, which is a great thing. Not exactly with the same game mechanics of storing multiple weapons, but in sound and style it's very much TF. Ball busting difficulty, but extremely fun. The blazing soundtrack keeps you coming back for more, which includes tracks from the same composer of Thunder Force V, Hyakutaro Tsukumo.
Hard af but the music and visuals are great. Easy mode will be tough for the casual shmupper but not impossible with practice. The more time I spent with it, the more I ended up loving this game, but I almost didn't like it on my first 1-2 play thrus. Probably worth playing for the music alone tbh
It runs on my Sega Saturn!
insanely slept on game. 120 reviews? criminal the game takes me right back to being a kid and playing Bio-Hazard Battle (rented from a video store that also rented games) on Sega Genesis on an old CRT in my room, dying over and over and just itching to see the later stages
It's a nice challenge with nice visuals and sound, paired with a arcade scoring system for the entire world that keeps the player coming back for more. I was on the fence about buying it, but once I played it, I knew that to me it was worth it.
Want this on my steam deck but doesn't run well on my ryzen 5/gtx708ti linux desctop... So i think I'm not even going to try with the deck... Would be perfect thou... Make a port for linux and you will get "deckers" buying this ASAP =D...
It's really difficult, but it's fun!
