Could be better if Jensen was prime Keanu Reeves
Earn extra experience points by doing stealth takedowns, but makes stealth takedowns rely on a energy system used to activate ALL abilities. You spend most the time standing right behind enemies just for your energy bar to fill up enough to use another takedown. Its time padding and its trash Also if you play on any resolution higher than 1080p it breaks the HUD and zoom on scopes unless you download a mod. Something the devs could've easily patched, but chose not to btw
Odpad...
Human Revolution is a good solid reboot of the Deus Ex series. Everything that made the original Deus Ex is in here. There are lots of genuine choices about how to approach goal completion. The skill tree will add additional ways to complete or keep them from you depending on how you spend your skill points. There is weapon specific ammo, an inventory sized to force weapon choices, genuine options of stealth or gung-ho approach, hacking, tech add on speech manipulation and lots of story telling. Occasionally levels, whilst offering multiple routes and style paths, become a little too linear and you are on occasion forced into boss fights, but to keep the story and game size manageable this has to happen really. My only complaint is that the conversations are too long and I often didn't care for them, wanting to just skip them. This is though a core component of the original Deus Ex style though, so you are getting what is expected and the end choice is a good one. These things rarely give me a moral quandary, but Human Revolution did and the game overall made me want to choose what I felt was the right path for humanity. So in that sense the game's story was engrossing. The 'Directors Cut' includes the DLC 'Missing Link', which it incorporates into the game story so you largely wouldn't notice. That section has a distinctly newer and fresher feel to level design and works as a stand alone segment of the game, albeit a rather large segment. The 'Directors Cut' also incorporates new, glossier, cut scenes to enhance the game experience, but these are often lengthy and at the expense of the momentum of the action you have been undertaking to this point. The overall graphical feel is a little monotonous with a yellow/goldish and grey hue over everything, but the draw distance is good and the sniper rifle and pistol work well over long distance shots. The collision detection is a little off when needing to move boxes or make jumps and some paths are dead ends depending on how you spend your skill points, but these things are minor and once into the game the controls are minimal and fluid. The game is so well designed and balanced that there are always ways forward no matter what your chosen skills are and your situation. Despite now being 15 years old is is still worth a playthrough and I had a comfortable 34 hours in ploughing through the Director Cut and a good portion of the side missions, which are always helpful to boost your character's overall power in the main game.
Absolute CInema, Cine total.
In ogni caso, tempo speso bene.
I had a minor issue with the subtitles being too small on a 2K monitor, but I managed to fix it quickly using DXHRDC UI Fixer. Since I prefer playing with subtitles as a non-native speaker, I took me only about 10 minutes to sort this out. Out of all the games I’ve played, this one reminds me the most of Crysis by Crytek; some of the story is quite similar sometimes, even, I think. The graphics do feel a bit dated, which is understandable given the game’s age. That said, I did expect them to hold up slightly better, as i feel like i saw older games with better graphics. The atmosphere— gives off that old-school charm similar to Half-Life, the nostalgia! Game feels immersive and engaging in a way that modern titles sometimes miss. I'm enjoying my playthrough so far, even though it’s an older game, it is still fun to play! I’ve seen older games with better graphics, but here the storytelling is what truly carries the experience—and it does that very well. My experience here is 8.5/10 One random question though, why is the whole game so "yellow", if you get what I mean? :D
