DETECTIVE The Motel is a deduction game where, to advance, you must take a pencil and a piece of paper and write down everything that seems like evidence in order to answer all the questions that arise. Solving the case will depend only on you.

Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0/day in the week to Sep 8 → 0.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

노잼...................... 억지.......
Good detective game!! I recommend trying it if you like the genre. Pros: -realistic scenario. -evidence searching en event-reconstruction. -good feedback of results. -runs also under linux (with limitations). Cons: -Under linux with proton it worked with proton 7, but movement-speed was reduced, but doable with the running key (shift). Also achievements do not work well under linux, but thats not a big deal to me. -pointing-dot is very little, could be somewhat bigger.

Matched by title — a reused name can pair the wrong games. * is a critic aggregate. Prices and positions are each store's United States storefront; Epic charts worldwide. Audience and Score too, except Steam's, which is worldwide.
Интересный сюжет! Полностью прошел. Не смог попасть в 5й номер(( кто решил головоломку, дайте, пожалуйста, подсказку! Интересно) https://youtu.be/eWA0pDec65Y
I played all detective games... I love playing as a detective and your stories are not bad but they're too short. I buyed all the games in offer but the games only last 1 hour or less... It's a shame, in my opinion. Please do your future games longer, they've so much potential but your ruined all of them for making them too short.
DETECTIVE – The Motel is a first-person investigative mystery developed by k148 Game Studio and published by JanduSoft that leans heavily into pure deduction rather than cinematic storytelling or guided gameplay. Set within the confined space of a modest roadside motel, the game casts you as a detective tasked with unraveling a crime that initially appears vague and fragmented. There are no dramatic cutscenes, no action-driven sequences, and no overt horror elements. Instead, the experience is built around careful observation, logical reasoning, and independent note-taking, challenging players to think like an investigator rather than simply follow quest markers. From the moment you arrive at the motel, the atmosphere communicates isolation and subtle tension. The setting is small in scale but dense with potential clues. Each room houses its own details—objects placed deliberately, signs of occupancy, inconsistencies in layout, and subtle environmental storytelling cues. The game expects players to examine every corner thoroughly. Unlike many modern detective games that highlight interactable objects or maintain comprehensive in-game journals, DETECTIVE – The Motel offers minimal assistance. You are encouraged to write things down yourself, track relationships manually, and piece together timelines through your own reasoning. The core gameplay revolves around gathering information and eventually answering a series of key questions about the case. These may involve identifying the victim, determining who stayed in each room, reconstructing the timeline of events, and uncovering the perpetrator’s motive. The structure resembles a logic puzzle layered within a 3D exploration environment. Rather than progressing through scripted objectives, players must reach correct conclusions based on accumulated evidence. This design creates a strong sense of agency—when you solve a piece of the puzzle, it genuinely feels earned. Presentation-wise, the game adopts a straightforward 3D visual style. The motel interiors are modestly detailed but functional, prioritizing clarity over visual spectacle. Lighting and layout help create an atmosphere of quiet unease without relying on dramatic effects. The first-person perspective enhances immersion, allowing you to physically move through hallways, inspect rooms, and speak with characters face-to-face. Character interactions are subtle and restrained, leaving much to interpretation. Dialogue is not overly theatrical, reinforcing the grounded tone of the investigation. The pacing is deliberately slow and methodical. There are no time pressures or external threats pushing you forward. Progress depends entirely on your willingness to observe, hypothesize, and test conclusions. This approach can be deeply satisfying for players who enjoy cerebral challenges and the feeling of untangling complex situations. However, it can also be daunting. Without structured guidance or dynamic narrative beats, some players may feel lost or uncertain about their next steps. Missing a key detail can stall progress, and the game does little to redirect or assist if you overlook important evidence. What stands out most about DETECTIVE – The Motel is its commitment to realism in investigative procedure. It does not gamify deduction through flashy mechanics or artificial progression systems. Instead, it trusts the player to engage intellectually. There is no inventory clutter, no unnecessary mechanics—just a space, a mystery, and your ability to connect the dots. This purity of design sets it apart from more narrative-heavy detective adventures but also narrows its appeal. Ultimately, DETECTIVE – The Motel is a niche but earnest attempt at creating a true deduction-focused experience. Its strengths lie in its immersive, hands-off approach and its reliance on player intelligence rather than scripted spectacle. For players who appreciate logic puzzles, meticulous exploration, and the challenge of solving a mystery without overt assistance, it offers a rewarding mental exercise. For those seeking cinematic storytelling, strong character arcs, or guided objectives, its minimalist structure may feel sparse. As a grounded, self-directed detective simulation, it succeeds in delivering an experience that values patience, attention to detail, and thoughtful reasoning above all else. Rating: 5/10
