I remember as a kid being bored stiff as my Gran used to play Solitaire, or what we called 'Patience' here in Scotland. It looked so tedious and yet she would while away her time playing this solitary card game. I just could not fathom her interest. So when I acquired this game, it was not with a great amount of enthusiasm in which I installed the game. I was sure it would not be the same game, in fact by the cover art and the mysterious name, I assured myself that it would be something completely different from the all-too familiar game we know the world over. Perhaps a plot, maybe an adventure with some point n click elements? No. The name and the inticing artwork, was just some clever marketing. So it's a thumbs down, right? Wrong. You see, the beauty and elegance of this charming title is that the basics of the game are not changed all that much. This means it is very easy to get straight into a game, and this is one of those titles that has that, 'just one more go' quality. The curse of many a late night when you know you have an early start the next day, but simply cannot resist the allure of just one more shot. Games like these are always worth their money, because you know you will get hours of addictive fun out of it, and it won't cost much in a time when everyone is having to watch their wallets. There are a lot of nice touches, such as the high scores you set yourself to breaking, and various little tips and tricks you can employ to aid you finish the deck. Also the bank is not a spiteful section dedicated to microtransactions. I think this might be the devs inside joke. However, don't worry as it is merely a cart icon taking you to a place where you can spend your generated coins from your games. For 4 dollars or less, you may find yourself taking more time playing this simple and fun game, than you might with some of the so-called blockbusters. Great way to fill a half hour, but watch that half hour multiply as time ticks by unnoticed. Clever, simple, cheap, addictive, and fun.

"Detective Solitaire Inspector Magic and the Man Without Face" is a basic mobile-app like solitaire puzzle game. Solve various puzzle levels using Klondike style card moving and matching. It's been done a million times before, for free, and free on mobile app stores too... yet this one has a hefty price tag on it. Who knew you can just charge $5 for mobile trash? I guess Creobit does. The developer, Creobit/8Floor, has copy + pasted this game an insane SEVENTY TWO TIMES onto Steam with minor reskins... why cash in on one asset if you can cash in on multiple copies of the same game? Asset flipping begins at home! Here's a list of Creobit's copy + pastes of this asset: [list] [*] Dangerous Solitaire. Zombie Fever [*] Dark Solitaire. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. There's no options to change the resolution for the game or customise the graphics settings. There's no way for gamers to ensure this is running at the native resolution of their displays... there's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. There's no way for gamers to try improve the low quality graphics. The game only displays in 4:3 pillarboxed aspect ratio (with some lazy "wings" to fill the pillar). It's possible they developed this using an old CRT they found in a dumpster, or this game has been specifically designed for people gaming on PC's from 1995... either way, this isn't really acceptable in the modern era of PC gaming. This looks and feels like a mobile app, but it doesn't seem to have made it to the app stores. It's unclear why this was put on Steam instead of the app stores it seems to have been designed for. Maybe it was removed, maybe it was rejected by Apple and Google (they do have more rigorous quality standards than Valve does for Steam, after all). Regardless, for all intents and purposes this might as well be a mobile app, it has the same limitations and dumbed down qualities. It's impossible to recommend such a game to PC gamers. We don't spend all this money building gaming rigs so we can pretend they're iPhones and play games that might as well be mobile apps. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 5 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 50,000 games for gamers to choose from (over 9,000 completely free titles), the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. "Detective Solitaire Inspector Magic and the Man Without Face" has the scam price of around $5 USD (for other people's work), it's not worth it given the defects and shortcomings with the product, especially considering the sheer number of completely free, much higher quality games on Steam.
Very good Solitaire game. Worth getting.
It is just fun and time consuming - good for a covid day
Detective Solitaire Inspector Magic and the Man Without Face is a casual puzzle card game developed by Somer Games and published by 8Floor that combines traditional solitaire mechanics with fantasy storytelling and detective adventure themes. Instead of presenting card gameplay as a standalone activity, the game builds an entire mystery around it, giving players a narrative reason to continue progressing beyond simply clearing boards. The result is a lighter detective experience aimed primarily at players who enjoy relaxing gameplay mixed with a touch of fantasy and mystery. The story introduces a strange situation unfolding within a magical world where rumors spread about an unsettling figure known only as the Man Without Face. Fear begins to grow as mysterious events escalate, leading Inspector Magic into an investigation filled with unusual discoveries and hidden truths. Players accompany the detective through multiple locations while attempting to uncover the secrets surrounding the mysterious individual responsible for disturbing the balance of the world. While the narrative does not pursue deep psychological storytelling or complicated detective simulations, it succeeds in creating enough intrigue to support the game’s overall progression. Gameplay remains centered around solitaire mechanics, making it immediately approachable for players familiar with casual card games. The core objective involves clearing card layouts through traditional matching systems while gradually unlocking new stages tied to the investigation. Every completed board moves the story forward, giving players a stronger sense of progression than standard solitaire collections often provide. Rather than feeling like isolated puzzles, the card challenges become connected parts of a larger journey. One of the strongest aspects of the game comes from its content volume. With hundreds of layouts available, Detective Solitaire Inspector Magic and the Man Without Face offers a substantial amount of gameplay for fans of the genre. Puzzle difficulty gradually evolves throughout progression, introducing situations that require more careful planning without becoming excessively punishing. The balance allows newcomers to enjoy the experience comfortably while still offering enough challenge to maintain interest over longer sessions. The fantasy setting also helps distinguish the game from many similar card-based titles. Magical environments, unusual locations, and supernatural themes provide visual and thematic variety that keeps progression from becoming repetitive. Rather than simply moving through generic menus and card tables, players travel through a world designed around mystery and enchantment. The detective framing gives additional purpose to each completed objective, reinforcing the feeling that every puzzle solved contributes toward uncovering answers. Presentation remains simple but effective. The visual style prioritizes clarity and readability while maintaining colorful fantasy-inspired artwork that supports the atmosphere. Cards remain easy to identify during gameplay, interface systems remain understandable, and overall design choices emphasize accessibility. The game never attempts visual spectacle, but it does enough to create a pleasant environment suited to casual puzzle sessions. One area where the title performs particularly well is pacing. Detective Solitaire Inspector Magic and the Man Without Face understands that casual puzzle experiences benefit from steady progression and minimal frustration. New mechanics and challenges appear gradually, helping maintain engagement without overwhelming players. The detective story unfolds at a comfortable pace alongside card progression, creating a rhythm that encourages continued play. At the same time, players expecting highly advanced detective systems or deeply strategic card mechanics may find the experience somewhat limited. Investigation elements function primarily as narrative support rather than interactive mystery-solving systems. Likewise, solitaire veterans searching for highly competitive or innovative mechanics may discover that familiarity remains central to the design. The game focuses on comfort and accessibility rather than dramatic reinvention. However, that straightforward design philosophy ultimately works in the title’s favor. Detective Solitaire Inspector Magic and the Man Without Face understands exactly what experience it wants to deliver. It combines casual card gameplay with fantasy storytelling in a way that feels approachable and relaxing without unnecessary complexity. The mystery framework gives players motivation to continue progressing while the large amount of content ensures long-term value for fans of solitaire experiences. For players who enjoy puzzle card games enhanced by light storytelling and fantasy atmosphere, the game provides an enjoyable adventure that balances familiarity with enough personality to stand apart from standard solitaire collections. It may not redefine the genre, but it succeeds in delivering a polished and entertaining casual experience built around mystery, magic, and satisfying card-solving progression. Rating: 6/10
Ein sehr schönes Game um den Alltag mal zu vergessen und sich zu entspannen. Es macht Spass die Level zu spielen und auch der Sound ist angenehm und nicht nervig.
