A strange murder has occurred in the Hotel Lisbon, a man committed suicide with 14 stabs to the back while at the same time he peacefully drank his coffee. This case with contradictory facts could only be solved by the amazing Detective Case and his sidekick, Clown Bot.

The story is supposed to be funny but to be honest it just felt annoying to me, like a really long cut of Napoleon Dynamite or something like that. Beyond that you click on things and stuff happens. Meh.
Genre
Ein 2D Point & Click Adventure
Story

Follow Main group
Follow Second group
I tend to be quite easily swayed by small, indie point & click adventures, "products of love", but would certainly not recommend this. Ugly, incredibly unfunny, nonsensical and annoying "audience" and "joke" gimmicks, plagued by translation and other bugs. No redeeming qualities, do not buy.
This is one of those "humor" games where all of the jokes are aimed at 12-year-olds and the game is for some reason incredibly smug about this. It's the kind of game that thinks "women are stupid lol" is a joke and pointing out that the word "homocide" has "h0m0" in it is funny. Then I got to the part where you have to question the manager of the "GAF Bar" and the """joke""" is that you call him "F4G" and you know what? No. No, you don't get to call people slurs and keep my attention. ♥♥♥♥ off.
Call it a personal perversity. Only my love for the wonderful cartoon style compels me to give a thumbs-up. Please, Steam, give us a so-so option! There are bugs, but no game-breakers. There's jank -- such as when I struggled for control of Detective Case's big bulbous wienerfinger in the elevator button screen. The interminable back-and-forth of the almost funny dialogue slowly but surely cuts the throat of comedic timing (a common foible with adventure games, especially translated ones). Suspect interviews, which are the only real puzzles, frustrate with their arbitrary nature; I know damned well one option was as good as another -- there was only a word's difference between 'em! Yet when I see that big-nosed goof stalk across the screen, or a suspect flip the heck out (yet again) I can't help but smile . . . I do not wholeheartedly recommend this. I do not wholeheartedly discommend it. I will not submit myself to the sequel.

I passed half of the game, then decided to stop. An old-school click and point game, I enjoyed the beautiful pixel style, Case and his cute clown robot companion. I especially love the set of a theatre stage, like the player is controlling actors doing a detective drama, when Case talks some silly or corny jokes the audiences give reactions. Very creative. NPCs are cute, I like the police officer who is always swinging the baton, and various other NPCs in the restaurant, bar, hotel and in the backyards... I can see the devs really put efforts, each NPC looks different and has unique perspectives, the crime case is complicated but interesting, too. Besides, the original soundtrack is beautiful, I stayed in the restaurant and listened to the entire song and loved it (which also granted me an achievement lol). Cars moving on the streets are fun to watch, the clown asking for a taxi by holding a Taxi sign is pure genius. I love it. The art design in Hotel Lisbon really won my heart - main reason to keep me playing for almost 3 hours. The story goes with some funny dialog, like the initial believe on the victim
committed suicide by stab himself in the back 14 times or falling on a knife 14 times, you gotta be creative to make those conversations. And in room 404 as an Easter Egg, funny poses legal examiners made at the crime scene, or that kid play the baton just like his father...
Those little things tell how devs care for the game. I hate to stop half way, however I hate the questioning. Hotel Lisbon allows players to choose either Detective Case or the clown to participate, I fail multiple times. Some due to coarse language, some are wrong questions with/or wrong evidence, some I do not figure out why. Though there are only 3 questions I was tedious and the questioning happens too often, much too many even for a detective game, those steps with collecting evidence or thinking about the relationships are weakened. Apart from jokes the language can be corny, I find some disturbing. I might read the guild in Community to figure out the case.
Interesting concept poorly executed. Unlike most P&C games, the inventory is not 'used' on anything except when talking to suspects you have to combine the right questions with the right items. It's a cool, neat concept. However the story, the comedy and the bugs leave this game much to be desired.
"Bugs bugs and bugs! If you like the bugs to affect your game then get this game." Detective Case and clown bot is a point n click murder mystery game where you play a character whose name I made fun of before this game took it (justin case) trying to solve a murder. It's theorectically a comedy game but each to their own, some things were funny most of it not really. The game plays with the usual point n click mechanics you find typically in that genre, with 1 'unique' idea that was worked on enough; "the interview rounds" where you interview the suspect in the form of a 3 round boxing style mini segment(but it's really just select the right evidence and response much like in Ace Attorney). It has a nice pixel artstyle to look at and decent music to listen to that reminds me of touch detective on DS. As for the rest of the game, it's a bit questionable in quality control. The comedy is pretty kindergarden level humor and some humor that some may find offensive and tasteless. The comedy stand up was pretty ok, I did enjoy the jokes there but not the horrible hit detection to collect the flowers for points and dodging tomatoes when I don't get the answer to a joke. The game is riddled with bad typos you find which is unacceptable in a point n click game where reading is an important aspect of the game. Another important aspect of the game is having it be stable and functioning as you play as there are bugs that will soft lock your game such as disappearing cursor if you decided to play the game too fast by observing objects too quickly. There are other bugs as well that cause the interface to be placed on top of text bosses. The controls are not terrible, but the lack of customization is not great. You are forced to use a controller as I found out and not be able to use mouse and keyboard effectively because the cursor didn't respond to my mouse when playing. There are certain design choices which hold the game back and if tweaked and worked on some more would have made the game more pleasant to play. Main one that comes to mind is highlighting items consistently. You can highlight items, but not people which made me confused on which characters I can talk to that aren't obvious. Also having the highlight being white while working for the most part, screwed me over a clue that was on a white surface so I never realized that I glanced over a clue. The highlight should have been more clear and obvious or perhaps the items themselves should be more obvious. Because if I had to look up a guide and find that I got cheated on the gameplay vs me failing to notice, your game is fail. I thought the game bugged out again but no, they made sure the game an be beaten as intended. Also what is the purpose of failing the minigame when you interview suspects? There's no punishment other than wasting your time. When you fail after the 1st round you gotta do everything again and while it's not too long, it just feels excessive time waster. Being a side strolling game, you'd think the developers would have added a run button to hurry up traveling, but no just walking at a pace. They have a taxi which is what they intended but it could have activated faster. Overall, I was disappointed with my experience with the game. I was excited to play a detective point n click game and this game was in my library for a long time only to find that it's rather sub par of a game. It's not bad overall but I would skip this game.
