About
In DESTRUCTURE: Among Debris you use the power of (very totally realistic) physics to destroy the world around you. Following a devastating, apocalyptic event, the world is filled with garbage, abandoned structures and angry robot turrets and it is your mission to clean it from this dusty mess.
The gameplay revolves around the player-controlled Round Thingy of Destruction that you have a full 360-degree control over, making smashing the iron ball so much more satisfying. But you must remember not to lose your ball. Behind you there’s a metal grinder in each level ready to consume all of the balls (stop giggling, Gregg) you are too slow to repel.
But DESTRUCTURE is no ordinary arkanoid-like game, because the levels fight back! Destroy enough structures and you will alert some bloodthirsty turrets, and trust us, they are definitely not happy to see you. Using all your finesse, you must dodge their bullets, missiles, lasers and other looming dangers and the more you destroy, the more you have to dodge. Bullet hell aficionados rejoice!
If you’re lucky you might stumble upon mighty weapons and power ups to use in the spur of the moment. It’s like finding a nickel on the side-walk, but the nickel is a rocket launcher or a laser gun and the side-walk is the debris of a structure that once had some semblance of purpose.
Progressing through the world of DESTRUCTURE is a tough and unforgiving job. For one, there are evil robots trying to murder you and the environments are filled with various hazards. That’s why your benefactors have provided you with a wide array of unlockable tools, upgrades and perks that should provide enough leverage to give you a fighting chance. They’re not free though, so remember to collect Blue Stuff (whatever it is) that your benefactors will use for very important deeds no one really knows or indeed cares about. You’d be best suited collecting as much as you possibly can. That is, if you don’t get shot while you’re at it!
With this Blue Stuff you can purchase exciting new toys like “Zeus’ Blessing”, “Suicidal Turrets“ or just some good old “Napalm Rain“ to ascend the ranks of ordinary, trash-fighting Round Thingys of Destruction! and become the ultimate destroyer of what remains of the dusty, barren worlds of DESTRUCTURE.

Destroying stuff is fun and the game does it well I think. I got some weird lag toward the middle and end game, but can't say for sure if it comes from the game or not. Anyway the game is fun.
Nice pinball type game.
i love the concept of mechanic and art but there is poor level design and game design choices. Bullets and collectables almost have same speed so you cant able to collect them. and most of sitiuation, you can't avoid attacks because your disc is too big. There is so much thing something like that. I expect more. Game almost became a good.
Its quite a nice game with its premise but somehow I feel like its not that well executed when it comes to the difficulty balancing. The difficulty feels unbalanced and it usually just boils down with you hoping to get repair upgrades after or within the level, which is completely randomized. The difficulty is just too high for this kind of game and most of the time I get hit I didnt even notice the projectile approaching since I was too obligated trying to not let the ball get into the shredder. Sure, maybe its a git gud situation but after 2 hours I dont really feel any progress and most hits just feel unjustified since either I get hit by the projectile or my ball drops out and there is no middle ground. The first few levels had no shredder and were much more enjoyable since I could fully focus on the mines and cannons. I do not even want to start about the "True" mode. Its ridiculously difficult and frustrating though the casual mode feels a bit too easy at times but that also heavily depends on the level since the difficulty varies greatly. The music is technically sound and fitting but way too repetitive and there are just a very few different compositions so its gets old rather fast. Would have been a lot cooler if each set of levels had their own theme. Props for the varied levels, interesting upgrades and general concept of the game. The hockey brick breaker mix feels kind of refreshing. I will probably still finish the game at some point, at least on casual difficulty but I definitely stay clear of the True mode and thats a shame since I like to complete arcade games like this. Can recommend the game if you can deal with the difficulty quirks. Completionists might want to make sure they really want to bother with this.
I'm still not fully through this game but I have currently over 20 hours put into it and can confidently say this is exactly what I was looking for. I'm a fan of brick breaker games but there is a drought of good ones. There are many of them on Steam, mainly because they are easy to program, even I did one when I was a child. But most of them are not very good, very boring levels, no interesting mechanics to make them stand out from eachother, so you have a flood of poorly done shovelware. "Destructure: Among Debris" does not disappoint however. In this game you play as the "Round Thingy of Destruction" (no joke, that's the official name) and use a large ball to destroy several structures in a post-apocalyptic world to collect a mysterious substance only known as the "blue stuff". Collecting this blue stuff allows you to purchase various upgrades for you at your mysterious benefactor. The game is divided into multiple stages and each stage is divided into multiple levels that you have to beat back to back. Losing one level means you have to do them all from the beginning (unless you play on casual difficulty). You don't have to beat all levels to advance, usually just half of them to unlock the next stage. However, beating all of them nets you new unlocks like perks, skins and even permanent upgrades. And also, after beating all levels you can do them again but this time with an extra challenge to unlock a very powerful perk for future stages. And these challenges can be brutal. Some devious examples include that you take damage if you cannot destroy anything every seven seconds or that your RTD catches fire if you don't constantly move it around. You noticed I mentioned "damage". Your RTD has health and there are two ways to lose it. The first is the obvious example, behind your RTD is a shredder, if your ball falls into it you take damage and also all power ups currently on the field will despawn. But there is some leeway, the shredder doesn't take up the full back (except in some rare levels) and some levels, especially the early ones, don't even have the shredder, so sometimes you can ignore the ball and collect power ups and blue stuff instead. Or focus on dodging. Dodging what? Well, the other emthod to take damage are turrets. Yes, the game has enemies. By destroying structures, you eventually raise an alarm level. If it's high enough it will activate one of the hidden turrets and start shooting on you. These start out harmless, aimlessy shooting in any direction but eventually will lock into you, fire triple shots or large pulse waves. Later turrets get special properties like launching sticky goo that slows you down when you move over it or acid that dissolves you if you don't shake your RTD to get rid of it. Some of the structures also have traps, if you destroy them they launch aprojectile directly at you. This puts the player in a tough spot because you have to dodge bullets, collect blue stuff and still make sure that you don't lose your ball. Luckily the game allows you to move your RTD in a 360° direction instead of a single axis. This allows free movement that makes it easier to dodge projectiles. The devs describe this as a mechanic similar to air hockey and I can see it. But what's with all that blue stuff? Between each level you can buy randomized perks at your benefactors shop. These imrpove you, your ball or your power ups in various ways. Some just increase damage, some add extra effects to power ups and some just give you a discount or heal you. The selection starts out small but becomes bigger and more interesting. Some perks build on each other, you need one to unlock th next in the line. These perks only last for the current set of levels and will disappear if you win or lose the stage. This give the game some rogue-lite elements although I wouldn't call it a rogue-lite game. I mentioned power ups a few times and I want to elaborate. Some structures can release a power up, either trhough luck or because some structures are meant to have one. In the later case you can see those because they have the symbol of the power up on it. Power ups come in two flavours, either for your RTD or for your ball. The earliest example is the crossbow. Your RTd gets a crossbow and can fire exactly one arrow at any structure. This allows you to precisly destroy a brick or heavily damage and maybe destroy a turret. For the ball you can get a fire upgrade early that sets structures on fire. Fire slowly consumes structures and spreads to nearby ones, allowing you to burn down the entire level over time. There are also explosives that you can find that blow up and destroy everything around them, although this can make it hard to see shots fired at you. Destroying structures fast enough gives you a multiplier that increases the blue stuff that spawns from destroyed bricks. This multiplier goes slowly down if you don't destroy anything but if you can keep up the combo you can make a lot more blue stuff than usual. Said blue stuff also affects your score for the leaderboard. The visuals of the game look amazing although all that clutter from effects, explosions and stuff to collect can overwhelm you. I also noticed that the game is poorly optimized. There are stutters hwen too much stuff happens at once, which will almost always happen when you trigger an explosion. This stops the game for a second which is annoying, especially since explosions will trigger a lot of blue stuff to collect together with some trapped bricks, so you actually need to be extra careful here. The soundtrack is good too, although the tracks repeat quite often. But I liked it enough to buy the soundtrack The variety in power ups, perks and level design is really well done, the game has different biomes and these biomes have different gimmicks. For example the sjunkyard has these junk structures that take up a lot of space and have to be destroyed piece by piece and very effectively block shots from your RTD power ups. The game is super fun and not that expensive, it's even cheaper if you get it right now on sale.
* A lil bit of advice here, you're going to Rage Quit... a lot, like get a few stupid hit from bullets or bounce your ball into the Saw Trap... You will be Pressing Esc so many times to "Restart" the level...However, Don't Do That ... Get yourself dies and Hit "Replay" again will be better...* Great Pin Ball type game, this reminds me of the Air Hockey game that we used to played at young age, but with ... even more exploadsions. It's Great, that how Creative the Dev can make the level. Different Levels have Different Setup, Different Encounter, Different Mechanics, Different Tactics, Gameplay, passives, unlocks ! However, this game is tough, and annoying but... give great feeling when you managed to pull it off, the power ups are random, but they are real good. Great game to play, and it's so cheap at a discount 9/10 Hard to find games like this.
