Desktopia: A Desktop Village Simulator

I wanted to like this game. I like city builders and the art is cute. Unfortunately, there are too many RPG elements to be an idler, monsters attacking and killing my guards and setting fire to my city. To me the point of an idler is to be able to leave it while I do other things and find a cute village when I return, not find houses burnt to the ground because my firefighter was killed. If you want an RPG that requires quasi-active play, it's fine. If you want an idler, I'd pass on this one.

Ok so full honesty. Game is really fun and does a good job keeping me entertained while waiting for stuff. now i got to tier 6 and all the animations and stuff are making the game run really poorly. I just move my guy to a spot no one is at (cant watch battles) . But all in all It's really fun and for the price i think its still worth it. I just save and start a new one with a different DLC when it gets too bad. just hope in the future it runs better and i can continue. Do not regret the purchase either way. I am also buying Deskape as well. 10700 32gb ram 3080

This is a pretty good game.

Its a fine game. I mainly use it to have something going on in the background while I'm busy doing other stuff. The game play, mainly the gold income, takes a LONG time. Over all the game is fine.

Its okay, but quickly gets boring

game has fully bricked my run twice where I randomly get an error that I can't load a previous safe or restart the game to escape from. I wish I could get the error logs for you, but pressing F8 (which they tell you to do to find out what happened) closes the game anyway. I had a good run going getting to only 4 bosses left, and the game decides to pull this fun move -.-

I got the same bug I had like 4 years ago? placed a building and got stuck. Thinking restarting the game would fix it, I overwrote my save and loaded it back up... Still stuck. Checked the forums and people have been complaining about it for a long time. Abandoned game where the devs won't even bother doing the lazy fix of adding a 'unstuck' button.

A fun game and novel idea. Semi-idler, semi city-builder with cute pixel peeps and it's all kept very simple in gameplay to keep it accessible. Downside is that in the late stages of the game it does have slow down problems that seem unrelated to any hardware issues, possibly just pot luck depending on PC compatibility. Despite that, the lion's share of the game is not impacted by this so it's still fun and worth the low price. The developers seem to have vanished or gone silent so decide if you want it based on how it is now and not what you think it may become.
