College Bowl

While the core mechanics are great for a football game (it's nearly a carbon-copy of Legend Bowl), I encounter several bugs within this game that really shouldn't be here, with softlocks in team edit and hard freezes when certain custom playbooks are created. There are times where the scoreboard just disappears during pre-snap so the clock is not visible. There are just a lot of nagging things surrounding the core gameplay that really shouldn't be here at the current pricepoint. We are over a year since release and problems still remain. Unless you are willing to deal with these issues in order to get to the actual football (which I do like), pass this up.

Basically football hoopland, gameplay is smooth. Only thing I would like for them to add is Hot Routes on defense so I can tell my lineback to cover the flat while in man coverage. Besides that? this is basically 8bit EA sports cfb.

Bought the game for the simplistic pixelated graphic style but, it's actually pretty challenging which is makes it better. It has a surprising amount of depth, from the playoffs and bowl games to recruiting. The game has a decent amount of customization as well, except for player names (which is probably a good thing if I'm honest). I like this game a lot though, I read that the guy who made the game ditched his corporate job and just starting making video games cause it was his life's passion. I dunno if that's true, but it makes me dig the game even more cause bro went for it, and made a good game. I guess what I'm trying to say with this review is: follow your dreams, kids.

Both Legend Bowl and College Bowl are great compliments to each other. They work great together and you will get lost in everything there is to do with each game. Buy them together, great price, and totally worth it! Both games are better than any Madden released in the last 20 years.

I WANT to like this game, I really do. I just can't. TLDR: very nice, great effort, very polished. And no doubt a certain type of gamer will like it. But for me atleast, so frustrating it's just not fun. And that's the bottom line. I get no reward and very little fun from hours at this. It's really nicely made, polished, obviously a lot of care and love from the developer. But it's just too damn hard. Even with the difficulty level below average and having done multiple practises. It relies on nanosecond timing and superhuman reflexes, and even when I manage to pull a play off, it doesn't feel like I did anything "good" - it feels like I just got lucky. But most of the time it just makes me want to throw my controller across the room. It's too fast, too difficult, and relies way too heavily on extraordinary reflexes. It's just a very frustrating experience. Maybe if you're the type of gamer who enjoys having reflexes challenged and taking days of practise before you can even consistently pull off basic, conservative plays, then you will enjoy this. For me, it's just very frustrating.

Bought it first on Xbox the other day, and when I realized xbox remote play doesn't work on any of my devices and microsoft support is terrible, I decided to grab it here too so I can take the game with me over Thanksgiving holiday. Absolutely a ton of fun and I'm loving how good the dynasty mode is. Don't regret double dipping for such a great game. Thanks Javo for this banger

Better gameplay than Legend Bowl, as the controls are a bit tighter and the features blow CFB out of the water. If you grew up on Tecmo Bowl and old school Madden games, this game will not let you down.
