My previous issues with the game called for a negative review. This has since been remedied with a patch and as such I cannot give this a ''Not Recommended'' in good faith. As it stands now, Desktop Fishing is a perfectly serviceable Idle game and the Devs willingness to make changes and take criticism is to be commended. A bit on the slow side in terms of completion, but it is far more reasonable and idle than the previous incarnation. Previous negative review is left below for posterity. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (Previous Negative Review) This is not an idle game, this is a chore. Every single time your character pulls up a new fish variation or chest, the game halts in its tracks until you tend to it and get it to proceed. All progress stops unless you tend to the IDLE GAME. Chests can open automatically on their own after you reach max rank, which will take you 200+ hours or several weeks of on and off play. To increase your rank, you have to complete Daily Quests, of which you only get 2 a day. Each rank takes more quests to unlock, needing about 4-5 days worth of daily quests for the last push to the final rank. Pretty close to 2 weeks of actual waiting before you reach this point. The final achievement to catch a specific rarity fish is also a gigantic unappealing chore that is quite insulting to all the players willing to play your game. It is documented for several players who have put 2000+ HOURS INTO THE GAME, and caught 500,000+ fish to still not have it. Mind you, the well of content in this game will have dried up at the 200 hour mark. By the time you hit max rank and can auto-open chests, you've done all the content. Enjoy the next 1800+ hours of waiting around with your thumb up your ass for the last handful of achievements. Nothing about that is acceptable from an Idle game people are paying for. You are not Idle Slayer, this is not a freemium, you are wasting your players time. The very design of this games mechanics are antithetical to the genre of Idlers and makes me genuinely question if the Dev has any understanding of it beyond the most surface level glance. Game is ALWAYS on top, and loves to hold your mouse hostage when starting it. Very basic things that shouldn't need mention, but for some reason do. I tried to like this game, but it does nothing but waste my time and spit in the face of my efforts for daring to let the idle game SIT AND IDLE for any amount of time. If the Dev has such a hard time grasping the appeal of the Idler genre and makes something this insulting to players and their time, then I have to be brutally honest and say their next game is going to have a lot of similar glaring fundamental issues, and my hopes for it are not high.

AFK
nice game but after a specific time, thats really annoying. had it 2 times now or so that after a few weeks or so i have to crate my frog again
A perfectly charming desktop companion :)
