Desecration of Wings

This Sierra Lee game started off as a slower burner for me, but I'm really glad I kept with it. The story that unfolds is interesting, well written, and more compelling than many non 18+ titles. Your main character is a sex worker, and I was pleased to see that her job and her attitude towards sex is not a point of mockery. There are some rude NPCs here and there, but she is not framed as a bad person for being a sex worker. And her relationship with her daughter is refreshing. It felt so real seeing her daughter come to terms with what was happening around her. I was slightly worried there was going to be an [spoiler] incest scene [/spoiler] but this trope is [spoiler] somewhat [/spoiler] averted. The art style is subjective, from reviews it seems some like it and some don't. If you've patched in the adult content, I would say this title delivers. Even if the art style doesn't personally appeal to you, the writing that accompanies it is excellent. The game won't necessarily suffer without this content however if you choose to play without it. There is a character introduced, a woman [spoiler] with a penis. I didn't come across any transphobic content around this, which was also a relief! She features in some 18+ scenes. There are also some 18+ monster scenes, which weren't for me at all personally. But you can easily click through scenes you're not interested in. [/spoiler] I played Desecration of Wings on my Steam Deck with no real issues. I did have music stop for some reason, and you will need to find a workaround to patch the Steam Deck version properly: [spoiler] I just copy and pasted an already patched version of the 'Desecration of Wings' game folder in the one on the Steam Deck. To find where these files are located, just right click on the game in your library and choose to 'browse local files'. [/spoiler] There are many hidden secrets within this game, and don't feel shy about consulting the fan wiki if you want to find them all. My only qualms about this game are the slow start and the even slower end. At the start of the game, you're very weak and combat can feel punishing until you level up enough. Throughout the game, you won't have a ton of money on hand to buy new gear. Endgame throws a lot of high HP enemies at you, which can get a little tedious. This goes against the dev's intentions, but you can use a save editor to speed things up if you're stuck: [spoiler] Search for Froggus RPG Maker save editor, be aware the website you get it from is NSFW. The tool lets you edit stats for individual characters, and increase item amounts. Saves a lot of time on hunting for Contorted Stones in the late game! [/spoiler] Overall, this SL title is as strong as her other titles, but might take a bit of time to open up at the start. If you're after an 18+ game that's written with the eloquence of a novel, check this one out. If you just want pretty 18+ pictures, play Third Crisis. If you're a true man of culture though, play both :)

I've played some games by this developer before finding this one and while I think it's clear that her process has become a bit more refined, the characters and themes are still very strong in this earlier work. Even without the elicit content I would still rate this game positively. That parts just a nice bonus.

Not bad game with good story, but there is no fast battle animation. And you need a guide to reach true ending.

This is probably Sierra Lee's least tongue-in-cheek work, but it has all the great qualities you may expect if you've seen her other work. If you haven't, then some of those qualities are intricate worldbuilding, a colorful and lovingly fleshed out cast of characters, thoughtful and engaging writing that both deeply and widely explores sexuality, and innovative twists and experiments on traditional RPG formulae and mechanics. This game requires a patch to enable sexual content, so there is less of a risk of people stumbling here expecting quick porn, but just in case: this is not quick porn. This is a full RPG with plenty of sex scenes, but even more dialogue, combat, worldbuilding, and exploration. There are secrets tucked away in every corner (and you'll want to find them to get the True Ending). There are characters who are not who they seem to be, allies and foes alike. If you like good writing and thoughtful exploration of various themes, especially (but not exclusively) sexual ones, then this is definitely a game for you. If you think "burn it all down, Cthulu could do a better job than the ruling class" when you see a sick and dwindling society where class and race tensions permeate the very landscape, then this is also definitely a game for you.

This is very much a JRPG. Characters show a startling amount of personality and growth over the course of the game. The CGs are all very good and none of the characters are particularly trope-y, which has been a major irritant for me with other H-games. This extends to the narrative and characters as well - while there are some instances of rape/blackmail, that has not been the primary impetus for most of the sex; especially where the MC is concerned. While she does use prostitution as a means of paying the bills, she comments on multiple occasions that she does it because she enjoys it to some extent and even goes so far as so say that she even feels a certain degree of affection for certain clients. While I have no issues with the darker aspects of some H-games, this more novel approach has proven to been a refreshing deviation from the norm. Combat is surprisingly well balance in relation to game progression, in that bosses pose a challenge without being gimmicky or infuriatingly difficult, at least until the last portion of the game. Which brings me to my first complaint, money is TIGHT throughout the whole run, so you'll have to grind to get the best gear available from the shops. While I don't mind the grind if the levels prove necessary (in fact, I consider the level grind to be kind of integral to the classic JRPG experience), the grind just for money gets tedious pretty quickly, especially when you can quite easily (if a little slowly) beat the game in the low-mid 30s. Grinding for money has put me into the low 70s. Still, for that to be my biggest complaint stands as a testament to the overall quality of the game. There are a few other minor gripes; like the recycled CGs for many H-scenes involving the MC, the lack of a 16:9 screen ratio, and the fact that the H-scenes do not occupy the whole of the screen; these are overall minor offenses. The few low points of the game are more than made up for in other areas. As a side note, I have to give credit to the dev for being receptive to the critiques of their players and owning up to mistakes and/or shortcomings. There's a lot to be said for that kind of integrity, and makes me excited to see what they'll produce in the future. While this games does have a few issues (albeit minor, imo), they are far outnumbered and outweighed by it's surprising strengths. 8/10

game is good but the abominations are extremely unbalanced how am i supposed to get the other ending when the abomination has 99999 health.

Sex scenes honestly felt out of place, usually in Sierra's other works, her sex scenes cruise in and fit with the scene, now its when a dude and a woman, i know they will ♥♥♥♥. Why? Cos it has happened constantly. Feels like it has too much arbitrary sex. But the writing has the Sierra Lee quality, thats why i still recommend it, even if the sex scenes are quite cheesy.
