Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 4/day in the week to Jul 21 → 28.4/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
Drive massive trains across beautiful, challenging landscapes. Deliver cargo between industries, spread over an open world. Earn money, buy new licenses and advance your career as a train engineer, all in seamless, emergent experience. For PC and VR.

256 km² of unrestricted open world, where you can walk or drive trains uninterrupted. Covered in rich vegetation, landscape, water bodies, and an extensive railroad network, the world spans numerous diverse industries and towns. Experience seamless day and night cycles, with dynamic clouds, fog, rain and sounds spicing it all up. Change switches, drive, haul and leave trains at desired locations - the choice is yours.

Advance your career by taking deliveries and earning money. Master efficient driving and look after vehicles to minimize fuel and repair costs. Buy new items and licenses that grant you access to more vehicles and orders. Optionally, you can also play in sandbox mode where economy is not in focus - where you can just have fun doing anything you want without consequences.

Take part in a dynamic industrial chain, where deliveries are procedurally generated for more than 80 cargo types. The output of locations varies, and almost no two deliveries are the same. Haul cargo between industries, or do the shunting and logistics that help the stations create more deliveries. Pick orders and move cargo as desired, according to your own plans, licensing and hauling capacity.

Experience in-depth intricacies of six realistic, accurate steam and diesel locomotive classes with varying transmission types, plus some extra vehicles. Through behavior, sounds, physics and interaction, their characteristics are designed to fully immerse and challenge you. On top of that, you'll find yourself spontaneously involved in coupling, servicing, brake securing, shunting and other railroad procedures.

As a side activity, you may find yourself investing time and money finding and restoring unique locomotive variant derelicts, which you can then customize with numerous useful gadgets. Gadgets are various devices that can improve driving performance, such as digital speedometers, clinometers, colored ambient lights, distance trackers, etc. You can buy them in shops and install them wherever you want, using various tools.

Built from the ground up for both PC and VR, Derail Valley lets you experience it spatially present with the supported mainstream PC VR devices - truly inside the simulator and using your own hands to operate the controls. This is the ultimate, closest experience to being a real railroader! You can seamlessly alternate your progress between the PC and VR sessions, as you prefer.

Be it a derailment, collision, blown traction motor, boiler explosion, brake failure, HAZMAT disaster or even something as mild as wheelslip on a rainy slope, Derail Valley doesn't just present you with a popup screen when you make a mistake - you get to experience the full consequences of your actions, even if they're a rare occurrence.
Whether you are new to trains or an experienced veteran, the game features tutorials that are quick to get you going. A comprehensive user manual also exists, for when you want to dive deep into the details.

I stopped playing trainsims because of stupid business practices (endless DLCs), mediocre graphics, poor integration with peripherals, and shallow immersion. Derail Valley Simulator fixes all of those problems, it's brought me back into trainsimming in a big way. The graphics aren't Crytek level but they're better than any other trainsim. Not by lot, but enough to notice. Easily assignable controls. Good physics. But the best part of course is being able to move around and outside the cab, doing as much of the physical labor yourself as you like, hooking up trains yourself, shunting cars around the yard, customizing your personal trains that you find, restore and repaint. You can do all that from a top-down external view if you like, or get right down into the dirt with it. There's an impressive assortment of gadgets you can mount in your vehicle to make managing large trains by yourself much easier, such as distance trackers, sleep alarms, proximity alarms, remote controllers, etc. The boombox has the RL radio stations truckersim and simulator radio integrated into it and when you drive through tunnels the signal is lost and gets fuzzy. Now that's immersion! My only complaint is there's no TrackIR support which forces you to use VR if you want any sort of head tracking, but at least they have that when most don't. My PC isn't great anymore (2080 laptop version) but I'm getting very consistent fps in the low 50's at mostly full settings.

BEST TRAIN GAME EVERE
Train, what more can i say?
The most fullfiling train simulator I have ever played, and I've been playing many of them since Microsoft Train Simulator. Progression-wise, it almost feels like an RPG. Play it like a simulator, and It successfully gives you a purpose to go from point A to point B. The maintenance simulation (refueling, repairing) greatly adds to the immersion, with a significant array of customization features and gadgets to ease the driver's workload. "Owning" and tending to locomotives (demonstrator) is a great feature. Can't recomend it enough, and cannot wait for the upcoming updates. Congrats to the devs, and thank you.
Bought this to see if it was a more recent version than my pirate version, it was not, this is a great game but f*** me the devs are soooo slow I mean cmon early access for TEN YEARS ! wtf are you doing ? no coms from them no patches no bugfixes no quality of life stuff nothing, just the sound of the wind and the odd tumble weed ! I cannot recommend this on the basis that there are too many bugs stuff just stops working randomly eg the label maker either vanishes from your hand after making a label or the keyboard just refuses to pop in when trying to make a label so rendering the label maker pointless, you cannot reassign the controls for vr and they are absolute jank I keep warping myself out of the cab because for some reason they thought A would be the best button for this action, navigating yards is absolute trash there are zero signs to navigate from on the way in, so you have to go find where you need to be on foot and then trace the track back to you loco ! the performance tanks after a few hours to a stuttering mess needing a restart to fix it, I could list many more annoyances but I would be here all day, like I said great game but don't buy it until they finish it, sail the high seas it's the exact same version and it's over a year old , then support them when they're done.
very good game very realistic
GOOD GAME. DEVELOPERS ARE LAZY.
I recommend the game. It is fun to play until you have unlocked a few licenses. However, at some point it misses challenges. It seems players that have put a lot of hours into the game are ok just unlocking licenses and collecting all the locomotives in the museum. I don't know how the game could be balanced otherwise but I have lost interest after unlocking D6 and s282. I'll revisit after the next big update.
E superb
Bonne simulation sans prise de tête. La gestion des contrats mérite d'être retravaillée car un peu trop répétitive pour les destinations. Surtout si on joue dans le niveau simulation.
