Put Tony Hawk, Jet Set Radio, SSX Tricky, and the Amtrak Downeaster into a blender, and this is the result - pure, goofy-as-hell fun.
Ok, so off the cuff this lil game right here is GOTY. The gameplay is fast as hell and it's motivating to go back and beat levels for better times, scores, collectibles and all that good stuff. Now you add in Tee Lopes, Sean Bialo, and Andrew one and not to forget all the other wicked cool features in this game's ost like MIYACHI and 2 Mello to name a few more; it's a sound of the summer, a certified hood classic even, this what Giorgio was talking about ok? Cool trains going sonic speed doing some jet set radio type business with some dope ass character design and a control scheme that feels pretty good too. Truly a 12/10 game that I look forward to playing even more and I hope you do too, enough talk now Denshattack!
I was attracted by it's unapologetic over-the-top eccentric pull of: CHOOCHOOTRAINxTony Hawk's Pro Skater. And by gods Denshattack! delivers! From is vibrant style and beautiful art style and LOUD aesthetic, fun visuals and gameplay and then its wrapped all nice with a slammin' soundtrack! Buckle in for a high octane railway ride!
Your classic "Hamburger Shonen" style game (yes I know they are from Spain but you know what I mean). The story is just there for over the top character portraits and absurd setpieces. And boy those are some seriously fun set pieces. Everyone knows the 'mech battle' one, but all the boss battles are over the top and fun. And everything in between is just as enjoyable. If I were forced to do a "Its this but this" kinda comparison, it would be Tony Hawk Pro Skater crossed with Pokemon Snap of all things, due to its... ehem... 'on rails' nature. And like Pokemon Snap, you can use abilities to find secrets off the rails, so there are ways of exploring. Also just keeping score multipliers up, and getting tricks down to muscle memory so that you dont lose points by spamming the same trick. It has that Tony Hawk Pro Skater Flow State. I'll have to comment on the Shonen style 'fight the power' storyline again because its amusing how many times I keep looking back and just... seeing the *absolute destruction* I'm causing to these cities. I have probably killed SO MANY PEOPLE from what are supposedly 'abandoned' locations. Also, I don't know 'how' they did this, but they flipped the "Evil is Cool" trope and made it "Evil is Cute" because the mascot for the big bad evil organization is the cutest little mole costume and just... look I know its going to be revealed that they were probably the cause of the climate catastrophy or whatever, but dang it, they could have done some more work making the mascot more... 'soulless'. Like, you totally could have taken a page from the terrible mascots of the past and made me actively want to destroy this 'thing'. Anyway, final thoughts, game really fun, everything's really flashy, story is just scaffolding to get you into absurd situations.
Holy canoli!!!!!!!!!!!!! What an amazing game The soundtrack is so good #givemesomethingtodanceto

I have never played anything like this game... and it's like pure crack. I bounced off of hi fi rush, never played jet set radio, not a fan of tony hawk... but this game... i can't stop playing.
Rad as hell Rail-Skater😎😎😎🚞🛹. Like Tech Decks with a caboose. Very endearing artstyle and wonderful music. Plays great on steam deck right out the box.
God, this game is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fun. High speed train preforming combo chains and grinding on rails is just a perfect combination. The art style is also gorgeous with the cel shaded graphic
