Demon Hunter 5: Ascendance

Good. Yeah, rather good. After the 4th game, which was absolute, irredeemable and unquestioned piece of garbage, I honestly didn't expect that this serie may recover and spawn anything adequate. However, this game managed to surprise. It reminds me another game from Brave Giant - 'Ghost files 2: Memory of a crime'. Here we also have a male protagonist, which is a rare thing for games of such genre. And this dude is rather cool. Story is not a revelation, but also good enough. Even kinda intriguing. I don't think that it directly follows the events of the previous games, but after that infamous 4th game - who cares. Really. Nothing to miss, nothing to regret. The game looks beautiful and sounds good. BGMs are rather atmospheric. Local HoG scenes, puzzles and mini-games are rather easy but have good variety. There is also a bonus chapter. Also good. And really contributes to the main storyline. Overal - good addition to your HoG library.

Honestly, for as cheesy and corny as this was, it was a blast to stream it and laugh along with chat. Worth it if you have an audience to help riff on it. Meh if it's just solo play.

A [u]male[/u] Demon Hunter?! SAY WHAT?! Awesome! Okay there was one in uhm... The Third one... The dude with the Crossbow... But he died so fast that no one even knew who the hell he was! This guy, Hector, is an actual MC! He also has a tragic backstory to fuel his actions (only told in a Bonus game!) and damn! This game was actually pretty good! While most people had mostly fallen asleep on part 4 of the series and were wary of this one... This one perks you right up... With supernatural horror museum! (The creepy baby doll wearing headphones and that garden gnome were a nice touch. I would like that gnome please. I need to terrify certain people. Heh heh.) While all of these puzzles/H.O. scenes could be considered Easy to Medium (depending on skill) -> Players of previous series can recognize certain puzzles/object usage! I for one solved some puzzles faster than lightning... Thanks part 4! Also, the Bonus game has a bunny and some strange fantasy land going for it. The bunny gets a bonus. :> And that almost fat squirrel? Love it! So for lovers of H.O. stuff and psycho/horror/supernatural... This one is already waiting for ya! Thank yous!!! :) :) :) [spoiler](P.S... Someone please explain to me the part where you unlock the door with the "demon"... The door is in a certain location and then you go flying out the window ... Which is further away and isn't really behind the MC... (Did the demon make an "L" shaped force push happen?) Falling quite a bit... And only getting a cut... How did the MC get from this one spot... To being pushed out the window? Magic? :s)[/spoiler]

Nice polished Hidden object game, had it for a while and just got round to it. Played it with my daughter (shes 8) getting her used to games/mouse control where to click etc etc, she really enjoys them and is learning quickly. Takes about 4h to collect all 24 achievements, decent story standard for an Artifex Mundi HOG.

If you told me that this game was made as a satire of the hidden object puzzle game genre, it could be a work of art. The voice acting is comically terrible, and the story is not engaging. If you're looking for a fun and challenging game, it's not here. I bought this in a bundle, and I'm glad I did because asking $15 for this is insanity.

Too many recycled puzzles and the characters models aren't funny bad anymore.

Прошла за выходные пять игр. Из всей линейки Demon Hunter пятая часть, наверное, пока в наибольшей степени заслуживает внимания любителей HOG-игр, особенно накануне Хэллоуина. Играть за современного молодого мужчину крайне приятно. Он язвителен, в меру скептичен, шарит в кино и музыке, носит кеды и персонажи вокруг него мрут как мухи в лучших традициях Сверхъестественного. И хотя его предыстория скучновата, он оказался в разы приятнее и смекалистей героинь прошлых частей - Доун и Лилы, - просто потому, что никакой не избранный, а просто травмированный нечистью мужик.

Soulless HO game, no pun intended. The HO scenes are certainly not the focus of the game. Puzzles are standard and not innovative. The logic puzzles were pretty bad, e.g. using garden shears for plants to cut through a wire fence.

I like it

The last part of the Demon Hunter series is more atmospheric and everything takes place in a more macabre location. I can only thank Artifax Mundi for this series. I hope they release more series like this in the future. Enjoy!
