Ui's too big and I can't change it back, so the game's unplayable, No fix works for me I found online, and their Support page forums are closed for some unknown reason.
great game but for some reason the game goes to the top left of my screen and zooms in a lot and makes it unable to play
It works really fine under Linux. But the simulation is broken in many ways. CO2-emissions are completely unrealistic. The income has to be nearly completely based on income taxes. The revenue of property taxes (even on maximum) is ridicolous. The voting system is complete nonsense. Sometimes nearly nobody votes for you and on another run 97% of the voters vote for you.

such a great flexable government simulator
After around 3.5 hours in Democracy 4, I’m still in that phase where I’m learning how everything connects, and honestly, that’s part of what makes it so interesting. If you enjoy strategy and management games, this one clicks almost immediately. It gives you a huge sandbox of political tools and systems to experiment with, and figuring out how they all interact is half the fun. So far, I’ve already managed to get reelected as President of the USA while reshaping the country in pretty dramatic ways. I’ve reduced poverty, increased taxes on the wealthy, created more jobs, improved healthcare and education, and even gone as far as banning guns, drugs, tobacco, and alcohol. What I really enjoy is how the game doesn’t just track raw statistics like GDP or crime rates, but also shows how your decisions affect public opinion and voter satisfaction. Every policy has a ripple effect, and sometimes the consequences are not what you expect. That’s where Democracy 4 stands out for me. It’s not just about “optimizing” numbers or balancing a budget, it’s about managing the tension between what you think is right for the country and how people react to it. Even policies that objectively improve conditions can hurt your popularity, while unpopular decisions can sometimes still keep you in power if you manage the system well enough. The game does a great job of making you feel like you’re actually running a country, even if it’s through simplified systems. Every choice feeds into multiple layers: the economy, public services, security, and voter ideology. Over time, you start to understand how deeply interconnected everything is. That said, I’m still early in my playtime, and I can already tell this is the kind of game that takes patience to fully understand. There’s a lot of information and systems to absorb, and part of the challenge is just learning how everything fits together. But if you enjoy slowly mastering complex systems, that learning curve feels rewarding rather than overwhelming. Overall, Democracy 4 is already proving to be a really engaging strategy experience. It gives you a surprising amount of freedom to shape a nation however you want, while constantly reminding you that power comes with consequences, and that keeping people happy is often just as difficult as improving their lives.
A bit laggy but in general very cool
