About

Once, you lived as King Sagar’s chief advisor in the Kingdom of Vendon, in the north of the Cold Lands. Using your witch powers, you could see the future for the king. But no matter how hard you tried, you could not prevent the ending you had foreseen. You saw that he would die in battle, yet he refused to believe it and thought he could change his fate. From that day on, you began to wonder whether a person could truly defeat fate. Leaving your past behind in search of a new beginning, you come to Deigon Forest in Kreb and open your own potion shop.
Deigon Witch is a text-driven potion shop management game with a deep story. Listen to the stories of the customers who come to your shop, prepare the potions they need, and shape not only your own fate, but the fate of the entire realm through the choices you make. Your sisters, the witches of Deigon, vampires and werewolves caught in the middle of war, kingdoms burning in dragonfire, and gods struggling to prove their superiority over one another... Each of them wants to draw you to their side.
This is a story about the conflict between free will and fate. You can write your own destiny, or submit to the fate that has already been written for you. The choices you make will lead the story in different directions and bring you to different endings.

Reviews
This game caught my eye because of the witchy fantasy elements. I love finding hidden gems by solo indie devs and that combined with the theme of the game had me excited. The atmosphere of this one was exactly what I was hoping, but there were too many things that frustrated me rather than feeling fun.

The game doesn't start in English. I had to figure out which button was the settings and then change it. That took some trial and error (second button on the menu, and then click a dropdown menu to switch).
Everything is SO SLOW. I read a little faster than average I think, but being forced to wait to be able to advance the dialogue was so frustrating. The longer the line of dialogue the longer it forces you to wait (or so it feels).
The potion making is also really slow, there's no skill check or mini game to play other than adding the ingredients to the cauldron but the amount of time you have to wait on the potion to brew feels too long. The actual "spell" at the end of brewing the potion is also slow and repeated every single time.
The art on the character designs for the customers was inconsistent. Sometimes they were more anime vibes and others gritty fantasy world vibes. The graphics in this game feel almost completely AI generated even with the disclaimer that the dev only used it to assist and reviewed and edited all images prior to them being included in the game. I felt this should be mentioned in the review for those who avoid AI generated content.
This game has potential. I was looking for something casual to play as I ease myself back into gaming after a brutal month (physically and mentally) and this just wasn't it. The characters and their backstories were interesting for how long I played before giving up but I just can't recommend the game in it's current state, especially at the $13 price point. It doesn't feel fun, it feels like a chore and with how slow everything moves it didn't manage to hold my interest. As far as I can tell this game does not work. Even if the game is set to English in steam settings this does not translate into the game... making you work with another language on start up... At least for all the text boxes. It does make for a cool theme choice for a bit though. Then your first customer. The dialogue is long and much of the story could well be delivered in another way. As the Witch her self should know this information and so the internal dialogue could easily swap in to give about half the information that the dark elf is giving you. Then the potion making is sub standard.... The theming is great however you have no potion recipes to work with and there is no skill mini game here. The game breaking bug I found that makes this seem like a scam is.... You can't give the brewed potion to your first customer.... This is critical to moving on with the game.... Making the game broken with in 10min of beginning. This is a cool concept and if the developer fixes the game... Great for someone who is looking for a dark occultist style story game with minimal mechanics. So No I can not recommend the game in its current state. Locking whatever else the game has away behind this glitch/oversight.
