Defenders of Tetsoidea Academy

I just played to test it out, and honestly, even tho it's your regular "Indie" RPG, it has some fun elements; - You choose a class(Thief, Warrior and Mage) and then you choose a school that focuses on several things, so for exemple, you chose a Thief, that specializes in Agility, crits etc, but then you choose the school that focuses on healing and buffs. So there is a lot of mix-ups you can do here. - The plot seems, for what I played, a normal plot, everything is fine and ♥♥♥♥ goes down and you need to do all the work; - There are some "bugs" audio wise, some sounds don't seem as clear. In particular, the part where you enter the car to go the Missile Launch site, the music keeps playing while other audio goes on the background, and that takes the mood off. A decent game if you don't have much to do.

Defenders of Tetsoidea II felt like a completely average indie RPGMaker game. I had no strong opinion either way for this game. If you are into RPGMaker games, or free RPG's in general you should check it out.

Well, it's free, so I can't be too harsh on it.. and it's fun for as long as it lasts, which is about an hour and a half. Got to what I thought was the first real boss of the game, didn't realize it was actually the last boss.. No ending either, just a congratulations message. Rather anticlimactic.

Eh, I've seen worse free RPGmaker games. If the game weren't free, I'd just be canning it, and either way I have no interest in checking out the other games in the series, but as a free game, it's fine. Just Fine. Storytelling is unengaging but unoffensive, combat systems seemed fine, though it does do that thing that a bunch of RPGmaker games seem to be doing lately where you end up choosing character classes that will define how your characters work for the entire game before you've ever gotten the chance to use the combat system, and the whole game is really just a resounding "Eh, I guess it works." If you're the type who has more time than games or money for games, then I guess you might as well, but if you have a steam library with enough games on it that you have a backlog you haven't gotten around to yet, then you're better off workin' on that than downloading this.

Defenders of Tetsoidea 2 is a fun, little, fast-paced, would-be-”M-Rated”, turn-based “RPG”. The game begins with a near absence of backing-story. This really allowed me to become the main character’s, Brand and Rei, and experience the adventure through their eyes. Pro: Well placed treasure chests made exploring rewarding. Con: Not being able to see enemy’s health made me slightly anxious. Boom! F-Bomb! Swearing! Attitude! And there ya go. Enjoy.

Defenders of Tetsoidea Academy (Also known as Defenders of Tetsoidea II) is one of hundreds of low effort retro-pixel JRPG ripoffs spamming the Steam catalog, made with the RPG Maker video game construction kit... in their own words, "Our easy to use tools are simple enough for a child." Like all RPG Maker "games", this is essentially a bunch of low quality/canned assets from RPG Maker coupled with a cringeworthy high school anime club fan fiction. As with all RPG Maker games, the poor quality engine displays badly in fullscreen and doesn't have full HD support or any graphics tweaking options, making this unacceptable for any dedicated modern PC gamer. The point can be made that the intention of RPG Maker is to make demos and small games to pass around friends, and shouldn't be used for "professional" game development. While it might be better if this had never been released on Steam under the guise of a professionally developed game, the developer has done the right thing by making their RPG Maker construction kit effort free. This fan fiction has you at school, it gets attacked or something, so you and your RPG party need to do RPG Maker turn based JRPG combat in a relatively short (~3-4 hour) adventure. This is far from the worst RPG Maker game, which is a lot like not being the shortest midget. Gamers who want a good retro JRPG experience would be better off playing the originals, like Final Fantasy, Star Ocean or Chrono Trigger. While this is free, the quality, thanks to RPG Maker being a terrible game engine, is far too low to recommend to PC gamers.
