Defend Your Castle

I thought this would be like the original game but with new graphics. It's not. You get no points for Archer kills so you have to keep playing manually. The original paid version had dragons (IIRC) and I was hoping for those but apparently not. The graphics look like they've been changed to be deliberately worse than the original game. All in all, it is just bad. Would not recommend. Regret buying it in the first place.

The play for this game is very different from the original flash version, and in a way that I think it makes it much less interesting and engaging. I think the primary difference is that you don't get points for archer kills, which makes it essentially impossible to set up the castle defense to largely run itself. Even if you make it to fairly advanced levels, you're still going to need to sit at the screen and manually fling attackers if you want to keeping building the castle. Additionally, conversion of enemies to defenders is much slower, which makes the game drag a bit. In exchange the attackers are slower and less numerous, even to the point where this game is much easier to survive than the original (I played on normal level difficulty). I guess in summary if you just want to fling attackers around it's great, but for me a lot of the fun was transitioning from that approach in the early stages to having a well-managed castle fend for itself later on.

Mouse lags out when you move it too fast, which is really great for a game that is focused on moving your mouse... 7/10 gameplay, could've been great nostalgia, but it doesn't work so definitely wont recommend.

Because you don't get points from archer kills, the game eventually becomes unplayable.

I really want to recommend this game but it sadly doesn't work on any of the computers I own If the devs see this, please fix this game.

Defending your castle is a very simple game, and gets boring very quickly. It's fun every once in a while, but your basically doing the same thing over and over. Only for the achievements do you actually do anything.

If you get this for under $2, it's a good purchase. Had a lot of fun playing it in normal mode and racking up achievements. It's very similar to the original hosted on Xgen's site, however I find this one more enjoyable to play because of the larger sprite sizes.

Super disappointed with this game, was hoping to relive my childhood and did kinda. Every time I went to save the game it froze and opened an invisible window that I was unable to access/switch too. With disappointed I will be requesting a refund.
