This is a walking sim made by an artist. You enter this person's unique world and you just enjoy the scenery. The theme is holidays / vacation. The game consists of various scenes that either require you to walk or just observe your surroundings. A departure lounge at the airport, a beach and car rides will be returning scenes. It is an interesting game with a very good soundtrack. The only downside I had was the omission of graphics settings. The game looks quite beautiful but the vsync was off the whole time. There is an interesting effect applied to your surroundings that limits the viewing distance. The basic form of objects that appear in the distance can be indicative of the topography so you can assume you are headed in the right direction. I'm not sure why this was necessary - to ensure the game runs on every type of hardware? Also, sometimes when you reached your goal you have to wait until the next scene commences. At the beginning you'll think you need to do something and you - naturally, if you are a fan of the genre - will just keep pressing "E". This is a walking sim without a real story. You can check Kim's Instagram for additional artwork if you have found the game interesting. It's not everyday that such an artist collaborates with others in the making of a video game. Defective Holiday is a fun little walking sim that takes roughly an hour to complete. Don't expect a deep story - consider it a 50-minute long music video.

Big fan of Kim Laughton's stuff and Mechatok, I can not stop thinking about this world. Its nice to walk inside Kim's work and experience the details and style up close. You'll quickly fall in love with Mechatok's music as it connects you to this world. Look forward to more from all involved.
This is essentially a 3D Modeller's portfolio piece... the models are detailed and gorgeously rendered, with some genuinely interesting graphical effects and scene transitions. There is a story in the vaguest sense and some scenes veer towards thought provoking, but by and large, I found very little substance here. Apologies, I can't in good conscience recommend this as a game... there is zero interactivity, beyond moving and looking around with the mouse. Each scene passes, some where you can walk around in them, some where you are stationary and can only look about you, and some that are essentially animated wallpapers. If you enjoy walking through largely static scenes, that's all there is to it... as I entered one scene, I briefly stopped playing without pausing, and as I turned back to the game, the scene transitioned to the next... it seems it doesn't even need you to move or look around and is merely on a timer before the next one loads. Some very nice things to look at, it might work well as a VR experience, but unfortunately not for me. Solid 3D though.

The music paired with the unique visual elements compliment each other well for a short ominous story love2 see it. Ty Kim & Mechatok
Grafikler harika.
Of all the free art experiences on here, why on earth did this one only receive "mostly positive" reviews? Due to some of the deterrent or even warning reviews here, I almost didn't give this gem a chance, but thank God I didn't listen to the prophecies of doom as "Defective Holiday" is the most exciting and successful Steam find I've come across recently. Due to the sometimes strangely empty, sometimes lovingly designed but almost claustrophobically limited environments, it's easy to speak of nightmarish worlds here; even more, the whole "Liminal Space" movement seems to have inspired this title as well, such as the incursion of the mystical or supernatural into everyday life á la Gregory Crewdson, virtual utopian vaporwave environments and, in sound design, world building and of course also in the soundtrack: a huge portion of hyperpop. Specifically, fans of PC Music and their aesthetics have to adore this title, because in no other have I ever felt so much like I'm wandering through the kitschy, shrill, harmonically ethereal music videos of these pioneers of contemporary electronic music. Crisp and vibrant colors create a hyper-real aesthetic, the surroundings seem to be in a constant state of morphing and alienating, and the emptiness of everyday places evolves into a surprisingly multi-layered, super-stylized dream like A.G. Cook would love it. Lively organic textures bounce off machinical coldness, swinging synth strings complement the constant roaring of waves to create a sometimes slightly unsettling, endless 45-minute holiday that I won't forget anytime soon. The mysterious, sparse, eclectic and episodic structure with a hint of narrative reminded me of "Virginia", the transformation of everyday situations into intangible reformulations of the underrated "ISLANDS Non-Places", the character designs of the iconic NPCs as well as the surreal humor of the works of CosmoD, one of my favorite developers. All in all, not only for fans of hyperpop and PC music, but especially for them a really great audiovisual trip program, a dreamy holiday in hazy memories of a future not yet lived, masterfully conceived, acted out, composed and compiled. An inviting, charming, wholesome, funny, beautifully rendered and relaxing experience with a unique vision I greatly appreciated. 9(-)/10
Perfect game. Incredibly moving, mixed with elements of suspense, elegy, and delight. A+
