Coins are bad? Spikes are good! Looks can be deceiving in Default Dan, an indie platformer that flips the genre upside down.
Defunct Dan
Default Dan plays off of a novel concept, but it becomes quickly apparent that it believes that it's smarter than it actually is. You play as Dan, trying to save a character (that looks suspiciously like Bowser) from a princess. The joke is that everything traditional to a platformer experience is in reverse, and the game goes out of its way to take every chance to make you look like the fool. Initially, it's amusing when the game manages to trick you, but as you grow wise to the hazards of the world, the game instead begins to throw an increasing onslaught of enemies at you. This wouldn't be so much of an issue if... [olist] [*]...the controls were decent, which they aren't. Dan refuses to jump semi-frequently, leading to a slew of undeserved deaths. There's no controller support, and no rebindable controls. Spacebar isn't even jump, which was even more annoying. [*]...the mechanic involving pits that teleport you to the top of the screen weren't so disorientating. Enemies can travel instantly from the bottom to the top of the screen and vice-versa, which makes it irritating to keep track of exactly where the enemies are. [/olist] Graphically, there's not much to talk up. The pre-rendered characters are plasticky, and their quality is questionable. Sometimes it doesn't feel like everything fits together, and it's often a little slapdash. There are no resolution settings, and the game boots in bordered window. I've had it crash when attempting to manually get it to full screen with alt-f4. As for the music and sound effects, they're definitely intentionally irritating, but that doesn't make them less irritating. Overall, Default Dan isn't particularly fun to play through. Once the joke wears thin, it just becomes another rage game, and one without particularly tight controls. 3.5/10

Tem dois modos, um para se divertir e outro para passar raiva. Passei raiva nos dois mas valeu a pena.
I've tried to give this game a fair shot, because I like the concept, but the game controls horribly
I played this game on my YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VwHyq2xm9dk&t=4s Default Dan is pure evil! This game takes your basic Mario platforming knowledge and gives you a big ol' middle finger. EVERYTHING YOU KNOW IS WRONG. I seriously questioned my existence for a for the first few hours. You want some coins? NOPE! They make you explode! Jump on top of an enemy to kill it? NOPE! You're dead! Read the signs to help you out. NO NO NO!!! They are trolls! Pits? Oh yeah you fall and come out the top of the screen! Spikes? Oh, they are bouncy! Oh you made it to the end? Let's do the gyan gyam style dance. Like WTF is going on?! This game really messes with your mind and muscle memory. It takes a lot of practice to get it down. Also... THIS GAME IS REALLY REALLY HARD! Yup..... RAGE GAME BABY!! This game is really rage inducing. But, this game is also very fun and addicting. And It's so satisfying when you beat a level. I finished the main game. But, I never completed the dark world. It's complete BS! Or maybe, I'm just bad. This game is completely obnoxious. I would for sure recommend anyone curious, or dumb enough to try this game.
Good Parkour Game
It's a dumb down version of Mario but its fun to play despite it being really dumb but fun. Note though coins are really bad.
It is the princess who catches Bowser (Kappa -Gamera and Ox king; Wani, tank, imbecile or beu sire). But this is only the beginning. Game that challenges your intelligence and also your skill, especially if you want it not to be too short (and it's worth it because new stages open up for us).
I was pretty interested in the idea of this game being essentially Mario but in reverse, and while I think it should try and stand out from those games a bit more, I do think it has pretty high replay value and solid enough ideas to bypass some more poor graphics and short gameplay.
