About

In a grim dystopian future, where mankind has scattered across the galaxy and the human society has split into two distinct classes, you are a poor stateless outcast forced to live off scraps from derelict alien stations and ships in the outer space, yet you dream of becoming a privileged citizen and living on the surface of a habitable planet, enjoying non-synthetic air, water and food. A fabled alien derelict ship somewhere within the Deep Sky sector of space is your voucher for a citizenship and a promise of cozy life on a hospitable planet.
Build and control a squad of up to three mercenary characters and set on to explore derelict ships within your reach from the scavenger's base. Searching the derelicts for loot and clues, you come across many friendly inhabitants and traders, but more often – various enemies. Challenge and defeat them in tactical turn-based fights, where randomly-drawn cards form your changing arsenal of combat actions, gain experience for yourself and your crew, loot dead bodies, resupply and upgrade once back at your base. The scavenger's home ship gives you the opportunity to heal and level-up your mercenaries, recruit new ones, equip them, upgrade their gear or recharge energy for life support during missions.

My favourite turn-based dungeon crawler after Darkest Dungeon. I don't get why this only has a mostly postive rating, as for me it's a total gem. You create your party of three from various scavenger classes, then go out and map derelict spaceships, fighting pirates and aliens and looting everything in sight. The combat and card mechanics really work for me, and I love obsessing over my equipment and skill trees (which is where your cards for combat come from) to end up with a fun deck and build. On my latest run I had a Leader who specialised in mental damage, mind-blasting all the enemies and keeping them debilitated with fear, a Miner (from one of the expansions) who had insane AoE heavy weapon damage, and a Techie who deployed drones that buffed the party and taunted enemies while she sniped. There are a lot of fun synergies to find, and I've come baack to play it again more than once over the years.
TLDR: worth it on sale for non-deck users, you might enjoy it. For Steam deck owners, avoid due to QOL issues. 1) I certainly don’t recommend this for the steam deck as of 2026. The controls are fine, but you cannot easily see buffs, debuffs, and environmental issues on the deck, making tactical choices at the later levels difficult. I’m giving up on my most recent run because I walked into a battle at no health for reasons that have something to do with poison or radiation, but I can’t figure out what. 2) There’s limited way to thin your card deck besides not using equipment. This led to me junking most of my equipment. I think the intention is to focus on three of your slots at max, but if so, there’s a TON of equipment that doesn’t get used. A real shame, because the flavor of the equipment is cool as heck. 3) The tactics in the game revolves around draw, damage, and control. That’s fine, but not earth shattering. 4) The story rapidly pivots from a grunge space adventure to a vibe that is a weirdly comedic, hinging on “AI has lost its mind” coupled with murder hobo quests and “humans have lost their mind.” Wound up not being my cup of tea. 5) There’s definite pros, the exploration and energy economics in particular, as well as the art. The skill sets of each class are also interesting enough. I personally would have been much happier with just skills, stock weapons, and no loot. Overall I’d rate it a 7/10 for normal pcs; worthy of a sale, you might have different views. On the steam deck, avoid it entirely due to the QOL concerns that impact your tactical abilities.
Pros: Great art style, cool setting and story, cool soundtrack and some pretty cool deck-building mechanics. Cons: Difficulty spike after level 5 + RNG = pure frustration.
Played on Steam Deck. This game is alright but I wouldn't recommend it. The systems are functional, but the elements that make up the whole are lacking. I enjoy dungeon crawling, deck battling, and rpg elements like the character stats and item trading, but none of them hooked me here.
Just like a lot of rogue-lites these days. Great concepts and fun gameplay for a couple hours, then the game starts throwing stuff at you that you can't defeat. Monsters go from having 15 shields and 30 hps to 70 shields and 40 hps. Monsters suddenly show up w/ 300 HPs. So stupid. Fix the power scaling in your game!
Extremely Repetitive Experience I couldn’t finish this one; Each exploration feels extremely similar and started to get pretty dull. I played 7 different Derelicts on the hardcore mode and there was hardly any difference outside of a few character interactions and the amount of square area each ship encompasses. I couldn't imagine having to go through again on another playthrough. On top of this you rarely feel like there is much at risk. It’s very easy to get back to the central hub safely whenever you need if you are low on health or energy. As for the card play and building a deck there are more problems here. Since cards are attached to equipment, I found myself holding way too much loot just in case I changed weapons and then constantly having to sort through it to find specific combinations of card and ability boosts. This seriously detracted from the pacing of the game. Also, it was a bit annoying to track certain character abilities that give bonuses for playing specific types of cards. There are no reminders in-battle that you will receive X as a result of playing the card. Example: Medic can give +X HP to the targeted unit if a medical card is played. Balance-wise certain control effects are way over-tuned compared to others. In general whichever side successfully deploys these first usually has control and will win the battle. If by chance that ends up being the enemy side it is fairly easy to be completely locked out of play and leaving you watching your party get wiped. Despite having some pretty cool art; there are too many other detractors that make this one an avoid in my book.
Decent tactical game with card usage. Visuals and characters are great. Gameplay is contextual and looks like this: first move around map using scanner, you can either search environment in some cases or begin battle when landing on tile with encounter. Battle is turn based and you can use ability cards for each character or use boost to draw another 2 cards but drain 100 energy. When energy runs out it's game over so make sure to get back to starting point on time. On some tiles you can restore part of energy. Moving on to battles. Health and shields are available so make sure to defeat enemies fast or they can regenerate shields with ability cards (if they have such card). When starting game choose 3 characters from a few classes available, good combo is a mix of melee, ranged and support like medic. Gameplay is about exploring derelicts in space and getting back with loot or completing quests. Occasionally stumble across some characters which you can talk to, weird dialogs are intended in some cases. Music is ok and changes in combat mode. Game is missing on some speed up options like slider for animation time or general speed up, at least gameplay is not slow so just click it through. Another con, no shortcuts to quickly use cards, everything need to be pressed with mouse buttons. Overall good for strategic players.
I've completed the game in around 20 hours, doing most of the quests. Just a single team. To be honest it was my second attempt - first time I started the game and ditched it, but after many, many months I decided to give it a go again - and it clicked. It's not overstaying it's welcome, the enemy and biome variety is just enough to keep it fun and maintain steady progression. This game is sometimes compared with Darkest Dungeon but it's nowehere near DD's difficulty. It's fun, short, knows where is heading and delivers on promised mechanics. I've encountered just a few minor bugs - sometimes enemies depicted on the battlefield are not the ones actually present in the fight and on the last ship the teleports crashed the game for me every single time, so I had to navigate the ship without those. All in all, a solid, fun experience.
