Summary Treason is a game that takes inspiration from TTT (Trouble in terrorist town). In a standard game, there is 1 detective, 1 doctor, 3 traitors and the rest of the players are innocents. This game uses the old Valve server system and looks similar to games from the 1990s to early 2000s. The objective of the game is to either kill off all the traitors or kill off all the innocents, depending on your role. The detective can identify player's roles using their dead bodies and can also identify who killed them. The doctor can revive people shortly after they die, and the traitors can revive people and turn them into traitor zombies, which is the same as any normal traitor except they have far more health and enemies can tell you're a traitor from a glance. The doctor, detective, and innocents all have to work together to find the traitors by either catching them in the act of killing someone or by finding clues around the map. Find 3 and it reveals one of the traitors. The round is won when either all traitors are dead or all non-traitors are dead. Pros + Active development team + Nostalgic feel + Stable gameplay + Good player models Cons - Very small player count at all hours. Very difficult to find a decently full game, and nearly impossible to find one that isn't an EU server. - Clunky movement and wacky hitboxes - No chat filter whatsoever, and players regularly slur in chat without any consequences - Uses the old valve system... not really much else to add to that. It's outdated. - Setting up your own server is a big hassle and not worth the effort Conclusion Treason is generally not that bad of a game, assuming it was made in the early 2000s. But for a modern day game, this game is very lacking in quality. Servers are a complete tossup between really chill and relaxed players (usually found in the NA servers), and completely racist hellholes filled with random killing players spamming slurs in chat. I don't think the game is bad, but I also don't think it's really worth all that much of your time. This game is free though, and you are definitely able to get good fun out of this game if you're lucky enough to get into one of the good servers that I did myself during my first time playing. I don't see myself playing this game again, but it's possible I might come back to it at a later point and could update my review if the game improves.
