One of my favorite games of all time! By far the best horror game I’ve ever played. The pixel art is incredible, and the music is so memorable (I dream of seeing them release a vinyl or CD for this soundtrack). The story is well written, it sticks with you, and we definitely need more video games about these themes. Some people seem to have struggled with unlocking certain achievements, but everything ran smoothly on my end! It took me a little less than seven hours to finish the game, and I only needed an extra hour to unlock all the achievements. There’s a menu that lets you select chapters without erasing your save, making it very easy to get 100% without using a guide on your first run. PS: I had the chance to meet Fleur & Bleue with my girlfriend during one of their concerts in Paris. They’re really nice, very talented, and passionate! I hope to see them make more music for video games in the future.
DEVS,DEVS,PLEASE I KNOW YOU CAN SEE ME English is not my 1st language so I'll try my best to explain I loved this game in the first 2 hours or so, amazing visuals and soundtrack but after chapter 3 'm bumping into a few bugs. mostly one but extremely bad。but if you guys haven't heard anything about this bug apart from me then I guess you can ignore me I cannot be properly killed by the purple enemies. I know that because I have seen the killing animation before. now whenever they touches me I will get frozen, can't do anything but to restart. but your auto savings are separated for a very long time. currently I'm in chapter 5 doing the boss fight stuff where previously mentioned purple enemies takes a big place. I managed to get 3 out of 4 but failed once I get back to 0, now that does not feels intentional(I hope) so my advice would be A:just fix the animation so everything is smooth and good B:add more auto save spots if you guys don't wanna spend much time on this small issue that you probably couldn't care less about I really like this games' art style and the whole vibe. PLEASE FIX THIS, I'M TRYING TE HELP YOU MAKE THIS EXPERIENCE BETTER I WILL CHANGE THIS TO RECOMMEND IF MY PROBLEM GETS ANSWERED
You guys! This is one that crawls upnon you! While playing it, I gave it 3.5*. And than a day ir two goes by, and I miss it! I miss the MC, I miss the world, and dsmmit I miss the music. And a 3.5* is not supposed to do this, right? Love decarnation! A must olay for indie horror fans! You will fall in love with the music!
Legitimately nauseating experience. Simple on the surface, but between compelling characterisation and increasingly weird visions I found it legitimately effective. There's less body horror in it than the first impressions would have you believe but the body horror that was present was welcome, I really like how the game looks, and it does a lot with its technically limited setting as well as using the medium for some occasional interesting twists on its own established mechanics. The one thing really holding it back it the ending, which is somehow too hopeful and too... obvious. Needed to be quieter and have a more balanced tone, it just all felt a bit unfitting. Would've been a great ending had it cut off at an earlier line, or cut the club scene and given the dialogue in the final scene a more bittersweet flavour (and not brought back that motif song, I'd have preferred to just sit with the swirl of emotions). Still, worth a play, but definitely a tough one to get through, though at the same time I couldn't really put it down.
Decarnation
Paris, 1989. Kein billiger Jump-Scare in Sicht.
As I'm not normally someone who plays horror games, I definitely couldn't have played this if it wasn't pixel graphics! The story is disturbing and unnerving in a way that makes me think about this game often. The events/puzzles were challenging but not too much so - a good balance of story and game. If you're normally more into hard-hitting narratives than horror, this might be the horror game that suits you.
