I remember playing this when I was younger and for some reason not finishing it; recently I decided to give it another shot and finally got through it. If I could summarize my thoughts on this game in one sentence it would be: "It's a Ron Gilbert game." If you've played any of his games, then you more or less know what to expect: a game that feels like it was made in the 90's with simple but quirky humor. I do think the game starts a little slow, but after the first chapter of the story and the world opens up, the game becomes more interesting both in gameplay and story. It's also where the game's humor starts to kick in a little more. Gameplay-wise, this game is very simple. There are technically different types of weapons with different elements and special abilities, but in all honesty, you can get away with just using whatever items have the biggest numbers, for both weapons and armor. Blocking is so strong in this game, you can just repeat attack/block forever until all the enemies around you are dead. Overall, whether you will like this game really depends on some simple questions. Do you like Ron Gilbert games? If yes, then play this. Do you like games from the 90's that have cheeky humor and deliver a simple, straight-forward experience? Do you like the old games by Double Fine like Costume Quest and Psychonauts? If yes, then you're probably a Ron Gilbert fan without even knowing it and should play this game.
Been playing this game for 16 years now. It is still funny. It is still cozy. It is still exists without a modern day successor. See you in the next year or two. 10/10
Enjoyable.

fun game full of terrible humor
This game is honestly a gem. I really didn't expect too much from an ARPG with 2010 bacon humor but the game hooked me. It has a certain charm about it that fills me with a sense nostalgia that only the Xbox Arcade era of games could properly give me. Campy, with gameplay truly coming in first, but still stylish. I haven't stopped playing the last two days. I didn't have the chance to play it back when it came to Xbox Live Arcade in 2010, as I was but a young coinless lad, but the game has aged tremendously well considering how much time has passed. Even including a 4k resolution. A game that parodies games and really is a Monkey Island writing meets Diablo-like gameplay. I didn't think I'd care much for the goofy exposition but it lends itself well to just being a fun game to play and the story has been fun and interesting enough while subverting expectations here and there.

Fun little hack and slash romp where humour is the the main motivator. Environments can be fun and imaginative, but the main event is the dialogue. Harkening to the Xbox Live Arcade days, the adventure lasts less than a dozen hours, with tons of small side quests (most being a kill this, collect that) and some minor puzzle solving. The artstyle is charming as all the environments are 2D. Definitely recommend for a bite-size adventure if the humour is to your taste.
Literally the best game ever made
