The game is overall a pretty scary and very enjoyable horror experience. However, you can feel that the game is very indie, this shows mainly on the graphics and menu design. The game released with a high amount of bugs, however I think thats acceptable for a dev team consisting of 1 person. I was very skeptical about the "scares" that the monster can trigger, because I didnt find them scary in the videos. In my first play, the jumpscares turned out to be more terrifying, than the actual Wendigo chase itself. Overall a very fun horror experience, I am looking foward to its development process in the future. :3
I know this is an indie developer and it was made by one person and I give them a large amount of credit. However I found the game kinda disappointing I followed this games development for a long time I found out about it through Tiktok and loved the idea. It was an interesting and unique concept for a multiplayer horror game which I always love playing. But when I started playing I felt no tension or nervousness I didn't find the game all that scary unfortunately. The chase with the demon is kind of boring and I think the map is a little too large. But not everything about this game is bad, visually the game looks pretty good especially for a solo developer I love the idea of the puzzles you need to solve in order to progress. The parts where you need to solve clues and puzzles is the best part of this game it is where it shines, but the most important part of horror games are to be scary and unfortunately I don't think it is. I don't mean to be cruel especially to a solo developer but this is an honest review of my experience with Gehinnom. I will continue to watch as the game progresses and maybe I will come back to give the game another try.
I saw this on Tiktok added to my wish list and shared it with friends and Sister-in-law so we all got it and love what we could play so far! there are a few bugs but honestly its a new game its expected! Chaos Minds is friendly and helpful
So, lets start this is off on a real note and devolve into chaos after. Is this game worth 10 bucks? Yes, the game runs good for the most part, everything is random so there's tons of replayability packed in there, and the demon is scary, which is a huge plus. Sadly there are a few bugs in the game, minor ones at that, but the Dev (Yes, this game was made by one hard working person) and community are working together to iron those out which is great news for Gehinom. Updates are gonna be things the community wants/votes for, which is a breath of fresh air in this day and age where Devs just ignore what their players want. The biggest negative about his game so far is there is no cheese demon!
An indie game nonetheless, but with a very clean and pleasing menu compared to most others. Very active developer, having produced 3 hotfixes since its release just yesterday as of writing this. The game also has a spooky atmosphere with the weather and the sheer darkness, and addresses some annoying bits other games hinder the players with. Such as an inventory that can hardly hold any items, which this game's inventory is both alright at the start, but can be upgraded with red backpacks. Or a sprint meter that doesn't feel weak or pitiful, but doesn't hinder gameplay as it WILL run out as you're being chased, but if you're smart with it, you can spare yourself an attack. The sheer randomization the game offers really does create replayability out the wazoo, because each run really does feel fresh. The flashlight is a welcome improvement to how other games address it, and the game generally makes you wary of your surroundings. The Wendigo is a stalking monster, meaning it won't spawn around you willy nilly. It waits for you to let your guard drop. Overall, a really nice horror indie title. Not too common in the horror scene, especially for one-man teams.
A really good game after playing it for a bit i had 5 moments when i was extremely scared! I had the game wishlisted since february 2022 and now i can finally play it. Good job Chaosminds!
This is a great game that my sister-in-law and I play with friends. It does have bugs, but any newly released game will. The dev is great at looking into problems and getting them solved. Definitely has great jumpscares and keeps you on your toes while you're looking for clues to complete quests and banish the demon.
Игра сырая на данный момент, скучная и с множеством багов. 3/10
