Scratching that Unturned itch I've had since childhood
The same type of food cannot be stacked and takes up a lot of inventory space, plus backpacks be nested inside each other.
Awesome game! Keep it up.
So, it's actually a decent game with lots to explore. But I have a pretty huge gripe that I'll emphasize in the Cons; and I can't thumbs up and won't recommend until it's fixed. This game is kinda putting too many eggs in too many different baskets; it can't decide if it's complex hardcore serious-mode like realistic extraction shooters, or if it's a silly fun time with your friends giggling about your goku outfit, master chief helmet, and jamming to 8-bit MIDI songs by Weezer and Metallica Pros - Lots and lots of loot and gun modification, seemingly endless easter-eggs and plenty of whimsy, large maps that you'll spend hours and hours exploring and looting. Making and decorating a base becomes a big vibe of coop play. Cons - Parkour seems to be encouraged, but movement isn't fluid enough and the consequences of falling are brutal. (And there's almost never anything up high anyway) The ammo/reloading system is quite unintuitive and the stamina drain is a complete drag; They come across as dampeners, PVP balancing, or "gameloop extenders" that don't really fit the vibe of the game at all. Zombies are pretty weirdly distributed. You can spend literal hours only seeing a few handfuls, or suddenly be overwhelmed and bodyblocked because you can't reload quickly nor escape quickly; which brings me to my biggest gripe: Died a bunker! No biggie, but I respawned into an absolute slideshow. My framerate dropped from 60-100 fps to 6-10 fps. The desynced input and slidey delays in movement made recovering my body impossible, so I relogged. Apparently relogging was the critical blunder, because there's a glitch where a relog will delete a dead character's body and items. There's literally no way to recover anything, because even accessing previous saves seems to be hard-coded to be impossible (but was possible at some point in time?[!?]) Plenty of glitches that will kill you, but then undo the bulk of your progress and rollback prevented... This combo is frustrating for an early access game, and really the only reason why I can't give it a thumbs up
This game is fun lol. Me and my friend kept getting chased by zombies and almost lost everything, its fun to look for better guns and equipment.
I really like that I can jump in and decide what I want to do instead of feeling forced down one path. Sometimes I spend the whole session exploring and collecting loot, while other times I’m just upgrading my base and crafting better gear.
It is insane how empty the atmosphere of this game is. Instead of feeling like I'm surviving, I'm actively hunting for something to do. Mainly something RISKY. Allas, nothing. The essential part of introducing a good post apocalyptic survival is looting through abandoned rooms; areas that people left. In this game, there was nothing. No, literally: NOTHING. EMPTY. NADA. Like yes, the exterior of the whole world is quite lovely, but no room felt USED. Looting felt cringe. It's basically a "Cosmetics Hunting Simulator: Drippify your Wardrobe". Ah yes let me grab a chicken plushie. WAIT! Even better: a neon kitty cyber-helmet!!! OMG. Now THAT is totally gonna save my life! Not to mention we're just spawning random ahh furniture everywhere cuz we feel like it I guess? "Oh boy! Spawn a fridge right here on this empty can." These loot spawns are worse than the respawns on Call of Duty: Ghosts multiplayer. There is no true passion for this game... It's feeling like a make this a button simulator. It's not immersive whatsoever and feels like a half-assed brain-rot gen z x alpha bootleg survival game. I had hope, man. If I didn't I wouldn't have bought this at all! A shame.
it feels very empty. I like that there are big city areas to explore, but they are empty. room after room, empty except a few scattered items with a lot of clipping issues. feels like someone built a husk of a city, then scattered random items everywhere. just doesn't feel lived in. BUT, there is a lot of potential here. good UI, easy to move around, and i like the weapon build system. I plan on coming back to this one, i think its gonna be good, when its finished .
