About
Years into a brutal lockdown, a once-thriving city lies in ruins, abandoned by its government and overrun by vicious, mindless infected. Those left behind are treated as human waste, discarded in a world that no longer cares. The government enforces the quarantine with ruthless precision, sending hazmat teams into the city to kill anyone who remains—infected or not—in an effort to contain the outbreak and secure something far more dangerous hidden within the city.

You play as Sam, a former urban planner, one of the few left alive. With intimate knowledge of the city’s crumbling infrastructure, Sam must navigate both the decaying streets above and the dangerous underground—a maze of trash-filled sewers, forgotten tunnels, and abandoned subways. But no matter where you go, danger awaits. The infected roam mindlessly, bandits hunt survivors, and government hazmat teams sweep through, eliminating anyone in their path as they carry out their deadly mission. Every step brings you closer to escape… or to your end.
Dead Trash is a dark, visceral first-person action game evocative of 1980s Video Nasties. With a heavy emphasis on brutal melee combat and grim exploration, Dead Trash will welcome you into its unsettling world, and you feel like you are being watched. Grab your hammer, collect your nerves and enter the mayhem.

This was a game that quite clearly harks back to the FMV shooters of the 3DO days, and one that really entertained me. I felt an odd, eerie feeling as I trawled through the desolate urban landscapes- everything felt sparse and cheaply done (in a good way, B-Movie style) which made the whole thing quite novel for the oversaturated genre. The still cut-scenes appeared to be little more than the dev's mates in fancy dress, but again, not a sore spot for me- it all felt on brand and in keeping with that video nasty vibe. I'll say now that I played this on the non-Steam Deck, and although it claims it won't function, it does largely work well, save for the lack of input-binds, but you'll more of less muddle through. The character design, weapon feel, and environments felt loyal to the time and well-done, and the voice acting impressed me too. Some people have criticised the length (I think I finished it in about three hours) but for a few pounds it was money well spent. Although it was a realitively simple play through, I did feel the bosses disproportionately difficult, particularly the the penultimate one, and as for the very last one, that was a delicate game of hide and seek which outstayed it's welcome. I imagine some of the errors might get ironed out in due course- cutscene duplication, achievements awarded that weren't claimed, as well as some quality of life bits like a HUD for ammo quantity in the barrel, rather than just the total (unhelpful, as reloading is required), but none of these were enough to put me off playing. All in all, a fun, brutal, splatterfest which ought to scratch the boomer shooter itch for a few hours at least.

corny but in a good way
Хороший шутерок на вечерок
A fun little boom shoot set in a quarantined city where you blast away dudes that look like Sans from Undertale, hazmat workers, filthy muties and even a helicopter.
This game is trash, i like it.
Отличная игра. Как будто смешали фильм Street Trash и Manhunt. Всем любителям подобной эстетики - обязательно к приобретению
Game was short but fun. Shotgun goes boom. Axe the true MVP. Wait for a sale and enjoy!
Solid, simple, atmosphere sells it.
Not a triple AAA title but, something about it just grabs you and pulls you in. Guns sounds great, and can definitely feel the punch. Enemies are variant and don't feel dull. Secrets to be found along the way. Map design is meh but I am not complaining. Long enough to kill some time and not take up the whole day. Well worth it, especially when it is on sale.
