About
Years into a brutal lockdown, a once-thriving city lies in ruins, abandoned by its government and overrun by vicious, mindless infected. Those left behind are treated as human waste, discarded in a world that no longer cares. The government enforces the quarantine with ruthless precision, sending hazmat teams into the city to kill anyone who remains—infected or not—in an effort to contain the outbreak and secure something far more dangerous hidden within the city.

You play as Sam, a former urban planner, one of the few left alive. With intimate knowledge of the city’s crumbling infrastructure, Sam must navigate both the decaying streets above and the dangerous underground—a maze of trash-filled sewers, forgotten tunnels, and abandoned subways. But no matter where you go, danger awaits. The infected roam mindlessly, bandits hunt survivors, and government hazmat teams sweep through, eliminating anyone in their path as they carry out their deadly mission. Every step brings you closer to escape… or to your end.
Dead Trash is a dark, visceral first-person action game evocative of 1980s Video Nasties. With a heavy emphasis on brutal melee combat and grim exploration, Dead Trash will welcome you into its unsettling world, and you feel like you are being watched. Grab your hammer, collect your nerves and enter the mayhem.

DEAD TRASH is a worthwhile indie FPS. It has a fresh and unique enough theme, but is a little rough around the edges. + Non-voiced comic-like story between levels + Good, consistent theme + Decent variety + Distinct enemy aggression sound indication by enemy type adds clarity * ~2h playthrough * Grainy, pixelated, rough visual style * Hidden secrets * Barebone environment visuals * Simple enemy behavior * Routing through alternative routes or going back for alternative routes and hidden paths can get a little confusing/disorienting, but it can be considered part of the game - No free save and load system, no level-select even after completion - Invisible walls with random seemingly intentional gaps; straying from the main path is actively encouraged through secrets and collectibles like ammo and weapons, but gets confusing with arbitrary invisible blocking and letting through - Confusing sequence break; enemies up above from a later part of the game spot you and shoot but can not hit you and you can't hit them - After death, complete level restart and in unclear state (default state, not like I entered the level?) I largely skipped the "story" but found the dev inserting themselves interesting, intriguing, and fun. It's a worthwhile indie FPS. I'm not giving it a general recommendation due to some rough edges, but if you don't mind and enjoy the style, then it's not bad.
I really like the sound design on the guns.... I could not tell you why at all i just really do
Short, cheap, and honestly pretty dang fun. Only complaint I have is that the pistol is SOMEHOW louder than the double barrel shotgun. But other than that I had a fun time!
Is it the best FPS I've played? Not at all. That said, for only $3 I'd say it was an enjoyable 2 hours. This game for me is what I think of when I hear "Boomer Shooter", no crazy movement tech, no constant hot swapping, just simple run and gun. I feel like this game really captures the spirit of the indie games scene too. It's made by a handful of people that used their knowledge to create a passion project. You're not getting crazy enemy designs or some kind of extravagant arsenal here. Why? Because most of the enemies, and all the view model animations are are built out of recordings of the developers themselves. It's a really creative way to overcoming some of the hurdles of game design. Will I play it again? I'm honestly not sure, but it's certainly worth the low asking price and can easily be completed in one sitting if you want something short.
Fantastic boomer shooter that feels like a love letter to 90s and early 2000s gaming and culture. Love the digitized graphics and glorious gibs. The storytelling in the comic book style is fantastic. Level layouts are well done with linearity that rewards exploration but doesn't get confusing or annoying. If you like boomer shooters, digitized graphics, graphic violence, comic books, and resident evil style secret labs, you will love this. I really hope these devs make a longer sequel or another boomer shooter with digitized graphics. Hard to beat the charm this game has, especially for the price.
Short but better than i expected. Artwork is badass. Give it a shot if you enjoy retro shooters.
E' stato molto figo, spero di vederne altri così divertenti
Kick bubble gum. Chew ass. Take out the trash
This was a game that quite clearly harks back to the FMV shooters of the 3DO days, and one that really entertained me. I felt an odd, eerie feeling as I trawled through the desolate urban landscapes- everything felt sparse and cheaply done (in a good way, B-Movie style) which made the whole thing quite novel for the oversaturated genre. The still cut-scenes appeared to be little more than the dev's mates in fancy dress, but again, not a sore spot for me- it all felt on brand and in keeping with that video nasty vibe. I'll say now that I played this on the non-Steam Deck, and although it claims it won't function, it does largely work well, save for the lack of input-binds, but you'll more of less muddle through. The character design, weapon feel, and environments felt loyal to the time and well-done, and the voice acting impressed me too. Some people have criticised the length (I think I finished it in about three hours) but for a few pounds it was money well spent. Although it was a realitively simple play through, I did feel the bosses disproportionately difficult, particularly the the penultimate one, and as for the very last one, that was a delicate game of hide and seek which outstayed it's welcome. I imagine some of the errors might get ironed out in due course- cutscene duplication, achievements awarded that weren't claimed, as well as some quality of life bits like a HUD for ammo quantity in the barrel, rather than just the total (unhelpful, as reloading is required), but none of these were enough to put me off playing. All in all, a fun, brutal, splatterfest which ought to scratch the boomer shooter itch for a few hours at least.
