The sci-fi survival-horror classic returns, completely rebuilt to offer an even more immersive experience — including visual, audio, and gameplay improvements — while staying faithful to the original game’s thrilling vision.

Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

A 5 hour game disguised as a 10 hour one This game was going pretty good until the third chapter The horror aspect was at its best in chapter 2 with me actually being scared then it was just very infrequent jumps scares This game really lacked cutscenes which was just so weird having thee characters shouting while being still, It lacked life and the voice acting was really bad for every character besides Daniels and Dr mercer until the final chapter but it still lacked motion Daniels was a really good character and Dr mercer was pretty good too although i hated his death it was very underwhelming The gameplay is mid while the guns are really good and balanced they barely give you ammo chapter 3+ and the enemies are not different enough but the biggest disappointment in the gameplay for me was the bosses, It was literally point and shoot the whole time the hivemind was built up to be this big dangerous monster only for it to be go right go left shoot repeat The story is good but I really hated the way it was formed it just felt secondary and most of the characters you have to read about in the text logs or listen to the audio logs What ruined this game for me was just the repetitiveness of it, It makes you go activate this then go activate that then come back then go through the door you unlocked and repeat, that's why I think the game should've focused on the story more to integrate it in the game more instead of what they did, If they actually put the story into the levels more it would've fixed the biggest problems with this game, And it should've been shorter 1/5

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 28: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Too few observations to say whether a discount moves this store's chart at all: across the last 30 days Steam · Top Sellers · Poland has just 18 day-to-day chart moves that followed a price cut, against 2,498 that did not. We are publishing the count instead of a direction — 20 is the fewest we will draw a conclusion from, and price collection outside the United States began on 6 August 2026.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

peanits in my butt would make me whimper less than this game
Score: 3/5 A very tentative recommendation. Significantly better in some ways, somewhat worse in others, this remake is still a moderately fun, well-paced, anti-immersive jumpscare-horror-drama experience that fails at both genres by frequently obliterating immersion with half-♥♥♥♥♥♥ design decisions and writing aimed at a dopamine-driven audience. The Good 1. Incredible visual improvement from the original. Although some of the animations for one of the main character’s arms when walking can be janky/unrealistic, almost everything else has that AAA polish. 2. The intro has been changed in a few ways that make it more believable than the original, with added intensity of the ship sequence, subsequent physical trauma to the crew, and some improved dialogue/characterization. 3. Less technical bugs than the original, which was a major issue holding it back. The Bad 1. Significant amount of race/sex swaps, and age/physical modifications of the characters, including the PC, which actively detract from the experience. The PC being a voiced protagonist was also a waste of time and budget, as he takes over multiple lines from other characters. 2. The boss-babe is still a poorly written, annoying prick. She forces passive-aggressive teenage-level drama into the intro and rest of the game that doesn’t make sense for her role/career, while destroying immersion in the dark, horrific atmosphere the game is attempting to set up. I would have enjoyed both the original and this remake significantly more if she was written by someone much more competent, or replaced/removed entirely. 3. Although the PC’s movement and melee attacks are significantly smoother, having a space repairman/engineer/mechanic in a protective rig/suit move like he’s an FPS character while being able to
stun-lock some enemies with his wild, untrained swings
was not what I wanted. In the original, having the PC run, turn, aim, and attack a bit slow/janky was charming/immersive. Unfortunately, it wasn’t just a bit too slow/janky back then. But this version overcorrected, having him acting too fast/smoothly. 4. Tutorial starts out significantly better for a few minutes, then copies and pastes the same issues that plagued the original: 5-7 messages/pop-ups/audio-logs/graffiti/dialogues all explaining the same basic combat concepts that were clearly communicated by the second message, with one of the last ones actually introducing new information the other character figured out, followed by the original basic combat concept repeated again, then another interested/novel idea around it that almost every player in the original would figure out on their own. All that in 5 minutes… you’re killing me. Is the target audience for this dark, gritty horror game with gratuitous violence small children who have never played a game before? 5. Anti-immersive. The creatures can
turn a human corpse into a necromorph
within a few seconds. Absolute trash. Lights are visually represented as taking as much electrical power as demanding electrical machinery, and has to be turned off in order to power said machinery and give the player more gameplay with low quality puzzles. Because the lights being off is scary, right? Because fighting monsters in space on a damaged space rig isn’t inherently scary? 6. They changed the save system to default to a new save, and to give an unskippable confirmation pop-up each time. You save every few minutes. 7. Basically zero replay value for me, even though it was designed with NG+ in mind. After struggling through DS1 (2008) once, I couldn’t will myself to complete it a second time or this remaster-or-whatever once because of all the atrocious crap in the way of the plot and good moments.
Sugoi!!!

The best
