Dead Cells is a roguelite, metroidvania inspired, action-platformer. You'll explore a sprawling, ever-changing castle... assuming you’re able to fight your way past its keepers in 2D souls-lite combat. No checkpoints. Kill, die, learn, repeat.

What I like about this game is that you only need to take controller and play it.

What can I say that hasn't been said before? Bonus points for including PlayStation button prompts on PC? It shouldn't stand out in 2026, but sadly it still does. As a longtime PlayStation controller user, matching glyphs make the controls feel natural and let me stay immersed instead of mentally translating every button prompt. It's a small feature that makes a huge difference to the experience.
This game did nothing for me. There's just not enough variance of the maps and the enemies and bosses. Story is not existing at all. The game rewards taking it slow and only bosses pose any real danger. Almost all normal mobs is easily handled by going slow. But the game is not fun if you go slow. The ledge grabbing is beyond stupid. Can't dismount or jump down anything without having to use roll or stomp. Still the game is fun for a couple of hours but compared to slay the spire this game is inferior.
