amazing game, love that you can upload your own songs
This game is so much fun, the music slaps, the animation is epic and the fighting feels really smooth. I love that I can add my own music and just jam while beating up some dudes. Now, I have aboslutely zero knowledge when it comes to music so I do wish there was some way to easily do the beat offset to sync up my music nicely, so far I've just been doing it by feelings which it works but it does still feel slightly off sometimes (again, I am clueless when it comes to analysing music), it would also save me lots of time lol. I'm also hoping for more content in the future such as more bosses, enemies varieties, level designs, higher boss difficulties, would be cool if the bosses have extra moves in those higher difficulties and eventually DLC. Unfortunately, I couldn't care less about the story (at least right now). I initially thought that the price was quite steep but after reconsidering, I think it is worth it due to how easily replayable it is as well as the presented quality. I can see myself just adding all my music in and chill with this game for an hour per day. Music and Fighting? That's two birds with one stone. I highly recommend this game even in EA.
Worth getting
I highly suggest trying the demo. This game is FANTASTIC. The developers successfully pulled off exactly what feels good in a rhythm game, and the way the game shifts between sequences so smoothly is something you just have to experience. Aside from the art, the game is pretty forgiving and times things very well so it feels good while giving players a lot of choice on setting the pace. For enemy distance, you can dash in or take things slow for enemy distance, or if a song has a slow/fast spot coming up you can decide on how fast you deal with enemies or use taunts to fill that void of time. None of this is necessary, but it really helps give the player control over the pacing of their experience, and feels very natural so the combat looks as cool as it feels, which is the best way to approach it because it's ultimately in control of the player in a totally optional manner. If the developers can add auto BPM detection + handle slower/faster BPM songs better + add better custom track editor controls, this will become my new rhythm game of all time. Edit: I'm holding off for 1.0 before I really dive in. My current hours are just how many times I've replayed one boss + custom tracks. That's how good this game is.
