About
A video was recovered from a VHS cassette found next to a quiet farm road.
The person who filmed it was playing the "Dead Apples Dare". Review the video and discover what happened.
There's a rumor that what happens after completing the video is part of the dare...
Walking simulator. The controls include walking, running, flashlight operation, and interact.
There is no combat, and encounters can be dealt with in two ways, one of which is simply running.
The game features a stylized VHS filter with a particular aspect ratio and screen artifacts.
Elements of the game include an analog asthetic.
The game can be completed in less than 30 minutes if running without exploring.
Exploring can add approximately 15-30 minutes of additional gameplay, depending on whether the player walks or runs.
There are several checkpoints, but no save system due to the short length of the game. The game is linear. If you get stuck at an encounter, check the environment for clues and remember to use your flashlight.
There are two endings that are achieved by a single choice in the game, and the game must be played twice in order to achieve both endings.

Reviews
It's a short horror/walking Simulator game with really nice visuals. I especially loved the part with the rain and lightning.
In a sea of low effort walking sim horror titles, Dead Apples Dare stands out like a shining beacon of the fun and unique experiences that are still possible, if only devs care enough. One of the most visually striking games I've played in awhile. Vibes are off the charts! Give it a shot please! FULL PLAYTHROUGH: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QyofdiDuLq8
Interesting game that is more of a meme than anything. Its not terrible and I did like the design of the game such as the day going from midday to night, graphics, and character design. I enjoyed the game however and I beat it in like 15 mins. Its not that hard at all. apple man is pretty spooky tho https://youtu.be/RGADwkTr6jM
Not bad, short but fun
Had this white woman saying ahh hell nah
Loved this short but very scary horror game! It had me on the edge of my seat the entire time, and the SOUND EFFECTS! Chefs kiss! Haven't screamed this much in a single horror game in awhile! https://youtu.be/v3Z2ObB0JMU?si=ZodLvLfB17T45m6Z
A lovely little indiegame with stylish visuals. Fun for achievements-hunter,
I like the style, I don't think I've seen it anywhere else. Very claustrophobic and stylized. In terms of gameplay there's not much here, feels kind of like a tech demo that if it gets enough interest, expands into other things. The store page is very clear you only get about 30 minutes of gameplay here which the honesty is appreciated. I would recommend just for the experience and easy achievements. It's priced appropriately which is rare to see these days.
W game! It was a nice walking simulator and the horror element definitely got me! https://youtu.be/07i7uQBDTjQ?si=R9spGy_1J3HHJ796
Thirty minutes later after completed the game, I want some pie with cream (custard filling)
