Daughter of Essence

Pretty good game overall with a fair amount of depth. Don't buy this game for the "lewd" parts. You will go hours without seeing a scene, and the way the scenes play out is strange compared to most of these. They play out with 3 pages (give or take a page) of text then at the end they show you a still image of what just happened, so really you aren't missing a whole lot. Also, some of the scenes aren't even completed. So basically you read 3 pages expecting to see a picture at the end, but instead you get nothing. The lewd artwork here was mostly pretty good, but some of it wasn't very detailed. There also isn't any background. The scenes contain NO rape, if that is the sort of thing bothers you. Some of the things that do pop up (that I witnessed) were gay, lesbian, futa, threesome, milf, breast feeding. I'm sure I left some out that I just forgot, and I'm sure there are a lot of scenes that I missed. The story starts a bit slow, but is pretty fun and entertaining once it gets going. There are branching paths and side quests that all have end ramifications, so do them all and choose wisely! Gameplay is fairly standard turned based rpg. They do have attack timing for spells/skills that I don't see too often. Hitting the key at a precise time will allow that spell/skill to do more damage. One thing I found extremely annoying was that there are weapon proficiencies for each of the games weapons. This in itself wasn't annoying, but the rate that the weapons increase in proficiency is painfully slow. In my first playthrough (100ish hours) using the knife the whole time, my proficiency only reached 35/50. In 100 hours I never figured out what happens if you get to 50. Are there more proficiency levels? Is there just 1, but you get a special skill? I'll never know because 100 hours of stabbing things wasn't enough to get passed 35/50. Another thing that kind of stumbled on that I assume was a bug was a particular area allowed me to craft infinite amount of food (up to the 99 max) without having the recipe book or needing any money/materials to craft them with. This made the game a lot easier since I didn't have to spend what little money I had on ingredients. I ran into this "bug" twice. The base building aspect was fun too and also has end game implications. Unfortunately you don't have the ability to upgrade everything, so you have to decide what is most important to you. Depending on your choices, the NPC settlers may end up living or dying later on. Leveling is fairly standard. Reach a new level and your stats go up a bit. It differs a bit by giving you skill points with each battle that allow you to pick and choose some bonus statistics to level up which allowed for greater character building. In the first half of the game there aren't really any opportunities to level up too much so don't think you can abuse the system by getting ahead. The art work for the creature designs are all unique and interesting. If they came out with a sequel I would definitely be interested in checking it out.

Always nice to find an adult game that isn't super toxic. Definitely having fun so far!

This is a massive game and after 40 hours (steam doesn't show everything) in I feel like I'm barely a third in. Very much an rpg with lewd elements rather than a straight up porn game. The porn itself is presented as lengthy text descriptions with some illustrations in the end, the quality of the illustrations vary. Fetish wise it's not exactly vanilla but nothing too out there either. As an rpg however this is one of the best rpgmaker ones I've played. The closest comparison I can think of is The Last Sovereign, and if you enjoyed that I would highly recommend this game and vice versa. Also this is a difficult game, so if you want to focus more on the story just enable the accessibility version.

although rpgmaker.....a lot of the quests have lots of depth, there are multiple ways to complete it. although some quests lack detailed information on how to complete it. like corralling the chickens, took me about 3hrs to figure out what i was supposed to do. You can equip different types of weapons and each weapon has its own interactive sequence so it's not just mashing a button. although i found fishing to be quite a pain in the @$$, As for the pron, well you can actually skip it, although u can mash thru it...i didnt like the way how the pron scenes and the thumbnail of the characters looking so different....its like all this time you're watching SD characters then all of a sudden a full blown MS character pops up.....i kinda hoped it would've let me built everything for the base but i guess that would be saved for a different playthru......

A game with a very interesting story, decent gameplay, and decisions that can have massive impact later on. There's also sex, but even though it's not to my taste, I can still wholeheartedly recommend this game.

dont bother as playing for the "plot" as its all just a single still image after a long wall of text. and the rpg bs isnt that fun either as they implemented a stupid timed button presses for the combat which isnt even interest as you dont get any combos or anything its just a single attack so its just a way to waste yo ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ time, then they had the thought it was a great ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ idea to put it in the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fishing which some of the side content requires with no way to skip the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, and the timing required is just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ridiculous you get maybe a single second to register a long ass string of commands which is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupid on top of not having anyway at all to increase the timing or to just set to your base stats like everything else. ♥♥♥♥ this game

Autosaves over your manual save thus making the latter unusable. What's the point in manual saves then? I had to abandon the game

Game play is really good but can be a little frustrating, I can't find a way to grind level ups. so thats a little frustrating. However the shrekys stuff is too far and few between and of low quality, and the game is drawn out like yo mamas sad and embarrassing child hood stories.
