It is a fun game and I have sunk quite a bit of time into it. I have quite a bit of background also in the IT sector so the game was quite easy for me to grasp. What I enjoyed: [list] [*] It is a tycoon type game [*] Nice to play and listen to a podcast or something else on the side [*] After you get people that switch out the EOL equipment, you can just focus on building [/list] But frankly there are something that I just found hard to figure out even with my background. And some things which just degrade the game for me. [list] [*] Every time you connect a cable, a switch, a server or add an IP to the server the whole network is re-evaluated. At first you don't notice since there is not that much to check. But now that I have 120+ racks of servers the frame rate drops after every move. I have no idea for a fix for this but this needs to be addressed as the play area very big. I have used only 10th of the whole area. And I have a "NASA PC" [*] Configuring routes was hella confusing at first, because I asumed that the source and target were [i] static routes [/i]. Turns out they want you to think of it as dynamic routing, which I figured out after I saw that routers can be assigned an ASN, which is a term used closely with BGP. Thus the source is the network you want to share and the target is whom you want to share it with. Completely opposite to the [i] static routing [/i] logic. [*] Allowing or disallowing VLANs does virtually nothing good as it seems that disallowing a vlan still allows [i] VTP messages [/i] to go trought. It would be really nice it would not replicate VLANs to the switches where a certain VLAN is not allowed. [*] When doing routes from Network A -> Network B you would normally expect it to go throught the router in the real world. In this game [i] it just knows where to go throught the OSI L2 [/i] and just skips going throught the router. TBF it makes it easier, because you don't have to have super big uplink cluster on the router then, and allows your routers to be connected with just one 1Gbps link, because no traffic will actually never hit the routers. This however creates a different problem. When I wanted to have only two core-SWs for my DMZ, I couldn't, because malicious attacks would just completely jump from one VLAN to another with out going throught the firewall like I wanted. [*] Service request by the companies are boring/useless. They are either [i] I want servers in another subnet then I provide [/i] or [i] I want access to the internet [/i]. The problem is that the service request get automatically done when you do your network right. Aka create a subnet for your X, RISC, Mainframe and GPU servers as that allows you to build racks faster and set IPs for the servers when racking them and then just assign compnies later because you route them anyways with the router after that. [*] Havent had any uses for the firewall except for putting it in-front of the DMZ, there is currently no penaltiy when a customer can "access all other customer servers" so just keeping all your servers in the same subnet, or even seperating subnets based on the server types has no penalty what so ever. [*] Last confusing part about the whole thing is that there are quite a bit non-private IPv4 addresses for the consumers/clients, but then you also have DMZ??? Also would be nice if there was a certain range of VLANs that are just for your datacenter so you know that you won't overlap any VLANs with other customers. [/list] Despite all of my problems with the game, I have still enjoyed it overall. I do recommend checking the game out. It is especially enjoyable if you don't want to cheese the whole thing and just build a massive server park with redudency and proper topology.
Absoultely awful game. DO NOT BUY. Save function does not work. All my hardware is gone on reload. A game about progress does not save and takes too long to rebuild every session. Have given it multiple chances and tried all fixes. Have a very robust system that has issues on no other game. Wish I could refund this awful game but gave it too many chances and now I can't. DO NOT BUY THIS TERRIBLE GAME.
The only thing holding this game back is the insanely low money generation rate. Creating mass networks should be a bit easier to automatize but everything apart from that lives really well to the dream that the game aims for. Im still giving it a negative review though because waiting for the money is absurdly time consuming. [b]I cannot put enough emphasis on how painful it is to wait for money in this game.[/b] Each server could produce 10 times more and even that wouldnt be enough. Youd still be often waiting for money to pile up.

buen juego sobre todo por lo que tiene hasta ahora lo unico malo es que el inicio es como muy lento y despues de unos 3 contratos te sobra absolutamente todo (recomendable balancear eso) y otra cosa es que se vuelve muy repetitivo el echo de poner servidores y las ips y los cables (entiendo que de eso se trata y es divertido pero no a la larga) y un problema lijero es la optimizacion que al contamplar todo los fps bajan de 60 a unos 30-20 pero por lo pronto cumple lo que promete (tengo ganas de ver que mas cosas de meten y otras funciones como control de electricidad o calor etc)
This is definitely one of the more relaxing games I play. I've had the game for a while and I mainly use it as a break from comp games like Siege and Rocket League. The Devs are great and they listen to what people submit. Really enjoying the new updates with new networking options. Plus there is a bunch of things that I didn't know about till I played this game. I have physical servers of my own (home labs) and there are things that I've taken from this game to incorporate into my real setup. Mainly organization and layouts of my rack, not commercial enough to be worrying about it to much. I have learned a lot too just about the game its self. My first time launching it, I was utterly clueless about how the game worked, but a little reading goes a long way. If you get stuck there are amazing and detailed guides/tutorials to walk you through each step. When in doubt, read it out. I'm also exited for the new multiplayer feature, but I need to find a buddy who wants to play it. Not all my friends work in IT, so their interest is low to say the least. If I could pick one complement to give the devs, its their work they put in Assiduous and the way they implement things brought to their attention. I had reported a bug just the other day (from posting this) and I saw an update role out a few minutes ago and I figured I'd see what they did... they fixed the bug I reported. Something simple as wires going invisible when connecting one space up or down, like to switched right on top of each other. And they fixed it within a day or two. I was verry impressed and it made me want to write this giving credit. Now, I'm not sure if I was the only one to point this out or if they found this on their own, but non the less, I was pleased by the way they handled it... plus it's a fun game that I enjoy in my relaxing free-time. I just looked at other reviews and read most of the negatives... what do you think the game is about? what else is there to do in a Data Center than to setup and manage... Data Servers and Networks? They complain about the repetitiveness when the goal is scaling like that's not the point of the game. Don't get me wrong, I can't play to long bc of my short attention span, but I love seeing my servers grow and love learning new ways to stack and put them together.
