Dark Romance: Heart of the Beast Collector's Edition

OK story, seemed like more puzzles than HOG.

Passé un bon moment sur ce jeu et voici un retour de mon expérience dessus : - L'histoire est plutôt sympathique (détachée de l'originelle) ; - L'histoire bonus n'est pas mauvaise mais elle ne m'a pas très emballée ; - Bonne idée l'échange entre les 2 protagonistes ; - La D.A (et graphismes) est belle : o Les visages des différents personnages me semblent avoir été calqués à partir de vraies personnes, o Les mouvements des lèvres et de déplacements des personnages sont assez moches, o Les apparences de la Bête et de la Belle sont belles, o De « l'arc-en-ciel » un peu partout ! - Les mini-jeux sont très accessibles et ils n'ont pas vraiment de difficulté ; - La musique est agréable mais un peu forte ; - Une durée de jeu d'environ 5h sans me presser ; - Un souci dans le langage soit lié à la traduction soit venant du texte en V.O : "métro de ♥♥♥♥♥♥" dans un monde moyenâgeux… Bof, Bof !! - La rejouabilité est notamment liée au niveau de difficulté et à l'obtention de tous les succès. Très déçu sur un point, je n’ai pas réussi à débloquer 3 succès malgré avoir répondu aux conditions me semble-t-il (fait en plusieurs niveaux de difficultés : 2x normal, difficile, expert). Le jeu reste « bloqué » aux récompenses de ma première partie. Cela me laisse un peu amer…

Die Geschichte ist ganz toll, süße Charaktere, das Bonuskapitel hat mir am besten gefallen. Die Minispiele fand ich größtenteils nicht so toll. Zu wenig Logik, zu viel herumknobeln, bis dann mal zufällig die richtige Lösung erscheint. Hier habe ich das Handbuch sehr oft benutzt, was ich normalerweise sehr ungern und nur in Ausnahmefällen mache. "Zufallsspiele" gefallen mir nicht so gut. Ich glaube, ich werde es nicht noch einmal spielen. Andere Spiele dieser Serie gefallen mir deutlich besser.

Cute story, silly voice acting, creative puzzles

This is the third game that I've played from the Dark Romance series and I'm not disappointed. I can't wait to play the other three in the series. As always, I'll lend you a list of Pros and Cons for the game. PROS: - Female and male protagonists; - Beautiful scenes; - Good voice-overs; - Fitting music; - Fast-travelling map; - In-game achievements; - Three sets of collections: the butterflies, the potraits of main casts and the information on witchcraft (I've found something similiar in Dark Romance: Vampire in Love where you get to learn about vampires); - Varied minigames and diverse HO games; - Main game + Bonus chapter; - Story has a moral like in every fairy tale. CONS: - No journal entry; - No trading cards. In my opinion, this is a good game for any veteran HOPA fan and to new players in the point & click adventure games.

Simple HOG for those wanting to pass time but by the time you're finishing the Bonus Chapter you just want to be done with it. !!The game crashed on me on my older slower laptop, I also needed to turn off my virus scan program to run this game so be prepared for that!! The story line wasn't anything mind bogling but too much things was constantly being added making it bit too messy. The animation is rather old and cheap looking but I think it just seems charming, the preview images give a good idea what to expect. Didn't bother me personally too much because the backgrounds were rather nice looking taking my attention. The voice acting is really varied; I recognized few veterans from various HOG titles but there were some who sounded rather stiff and lifeless. One even sounded like they were drunk?? You can skip the HO-scenes by doing Match-3 minigames which makes most of the achievements a cake walk and thus rather pointless. You can try to find 3 different collectables, a tad too many for my taste but they at least give more challenge than the puzzles or the HO achievements. The reason why I would not recommend this is the puzzles being really simple and being almost mockingly easy. For me the only thing making me hooked was the Beauty and the Beast storyline and the two playable characters mechanism but even that was kinda meh. For veteran players I recommend passing this one or not simply expecting anything special. And for newcomers I suggest looking up better games more worth your money. Buy this one in a bundle or when it's reaaaally cheap to try it out.

Great game. Beautiful graphics, nice music, some interesting puzzles and a well written story. An interesting twist on Beauty and the Beast.
