About

Terrazael. A world torn apart by oathbreakers, warmongers, and wielders of forbidden arcane secrets.
A world on its last strand of hope brought to its knees by a Calamity centuries ago that tore down its mighty civilizations. Petty kings rule in place of grand emperors of old that wage fruitless, ill-advised wars picking over ancient ruins like glorified scavengers.
Lead a team of four students in the Brookstead Military Academy, who are shut down on the mysterious orders of King Varic. The ruler of the Kingdom of Delia is preparing to break a millennium-old treaty and Brookstead students make for fine cannon fodder... However, these four soldiers are destined for more than just acting as unwilling meat for another grinder.
They may not know it yet, but they will make their mark on history.

Lead soldiers into the fray across a world torn apart by endless war and magical cataclysms.
Fight through hand-crafted, turn-based combat scenarios spread out across 28 chapters, as rookies become veterans.
Test your tactical mettle. Maneuver, attack, break through, and - maybe - turn the tide of the war.
Engineer the rise of legends, from a pile of raw conscripts to a band of mythical heroes.

Carefully nurture your squad to ensure survival through long bouts to make a difference in a seemingly hopeless world.
Assemble the squad from 30 playable characters, with their own background, personality, and motivations, then train them and pick from 54 distinct classes, with their own iconic attacks and skills.
Outfit each team with hundreds of weapons and spells, from simple blades and missiles to ancient, eldritch artifacts that produce world-ending magic.
Defeat doesn’t mean permadeath, but there is a price to pay: Every time a warrior falls, it means a grave wound, a stat penalty, and weakening your squad.
Hope is a rare commodity in a world ruined by Calamity, good thing these heroes are filled to the brim.
Defy the fates and make a difference as the head of this unlikely band of heroes.
Watch characters bond together on the battlefield and their relationships evolve through 400 individual conversations.

if you give it enough chapters to get going, it's actually a pretty good story and game although the beginning chapters are a bit slow and plain at first
Funny little game. They are trying to do something new with the Fire Emblem formular. I like the weapon system and how easily it is to build a newly recruited character into something your army is still in need of. Terrible soundtrack though. The music is truly unbearable.
It's a bit jank, but charming. Easy enough so far as to not be frustrating with the jank. The characters and world show a lot of heart and promise. I love the battle animations and the call back to classic Fire Emblem while doing some new things. Lots of UI/menu jank. I doubt things are balanced. Too many characters to get attached to or flesh out all of them. BUT so far an excellent time. Interested to see how it wraps up. A solid 7/10 game that is a fun time in between more serious endeavours.
This is a great strategic RPG, kind of like a Fire Emblem lite. Great combat and character relationships, but with no busy work in between.
Good and challenging strategy game if you don't let Benji solo the entire enemy army.
8/10 game, definitely recommend but it has its flaws. As a Fire Emblem fan this game definitely caught my eye when I first saw it, the inspiration is obvious, and that's not a bad thing, because this game definitely delivers. Some of the flaws of the game don't really impact the experience cause they are little details but other ones can sometimes be frustrating. Gameplay The game is definitely something you enjoy if you like tactical games, it has the typical FE leveling of class change at level 10 and 30, but since every character has a unique ability, it's really entertaining to see which combination of tier 2 and tier 3 classes will be best. There are 6 base classes and each of them can upgrade into 4 different tier 2 and 4 different tier 3 classes, a really great thing is that it's not linear, so if you pick tier 2 class number 1 you don't need to pick tier 3 class number 1, you can pick tier 3 class number 2 and there's no restriction, that's definitely positive since mixing classes can get you very interesting and powerful combinations. The combat in itself is good, like other tactical games you move the character on the grid and then you choose to attack or do something else, and if you attack the enemy will counterattack. One of the biggest flaws about the game is its maps, a lot of them are really frustrating and seem really on the enemy's side, and others are cheeseable in really easy ways, which loses the point of having a hard battle. For example,
I've just finished the game, and on the last battle against the final boss there's a really easy way to exploit it so that he just doesn't attack you, and it's not something you actively try to do, it just happens playing casually (cause that's how it happened to me) if you put 4 characters surrounding him (I used Cia, Bianca, Caius, & Fenton) he just won't attack any of those units, and you can use an archer with 3 range (which I had 2, Rose and Sophia) and he can't counterattack them, so you can just spam both of her attacks and have no risk.
Even though you can cheese the map, it has two really cool gimmicks, and it's not the only map that has it, the maps have a lot of variety on the design of the map itself and on the objective, cause there's a lot more than just: "kill all enemies". Story Definitely the weakest aspect of this game, at the start you think it's gonna talk about a war, but then it changes the plot and it's not only about the war. Sometimes I found myself lost in what the story was saying cause it didn't really feel connected or it felt out of the blue. Another somewhat weak point about how the story is explained is that there's no voice acting of the story itself, and I wouldn't say it is exactly a weak point, but sometimes it can feel like too much reading, especially cause the bonds are like that too. The bonds are the little stories that develop when you use 2 characters on the same map, it gives you more lore about them and they're really fun, sometimes it can be obvious what they're gonna talk about but some of them have really good twists which makes them really worth it to read. Art In general this game is really pretty, I really liked the backgrounds even though they weren't a major thing while playing. The character sprites were really good too, and the map designs were pretty too. But the attack animations were just on a different level. Each class has 4 weapons, and each of them has a different animation when attacking, but the thing is, you can level up each of those weapons, and every new tier brings a new animation + some of the weapons have special colours when hitting a crit. And some of them even have unique animations when dodging, which just makes it better. But there's a really small thing that bothered me, and I saw it too many times cuz it was with my favourite character (or at least I only noticed it with her). When Cia is on her duelist class and she hits a crit, there's a single sprite of armor that will not move. It's not something big or something that hinders the enjoyment of playability, and it's so small that probably nobody noticed when testing the game, but I noticed and it bothered me XD. There are no cutscenes in the game, just sometimes a special background on really important parts of the story, it's not something bad about the game. Sound The music was good, nothing that I will carry with me forever but enyobale to listen to while playing. The sounds of the weapons were really cool, but some of them are just extremely loud for no reason, I had to play the game on low volume because of it, and if I just took down the weapon sounds the normal ones won't be hearable and the loud ones will sound normal. Characters I think the characters are very charismatic and have a lot more to them than it may seem at first glance. Especially with the bonds you can get to know them really well, and even though some may fall into some stereotypes, I think they are amazing. A lot of them seem like the have a parallelism with real life problems or positions, and I think it just adds to the game. There's a lot of variety between them, even if they're on the same class, which might make it seem like they would be similar in personality, and it's easy to feel related to some of them because of it. Overall it is a really fun game that sometimes can frustrate you a bit but it's still an amazing experience. Definitely recommend if you like tactical games or if you're a fire emblem fan. If you're not in those categories but still wanna try out the game I do recommend it anyways, it's on sale lots of times so if it isn't at the moment you're reading this just wait a bit, it will be worth it I promise.
