Dare to Lucid Dream

OH. MY. GOODNESS! I'm usually not a fan of Visual Novels, but this one takes every cake in the bakery. The characters are adorable, the writing is so special, and the plot gripped me by the throat and would not let me go until I finished it. It's a tense story about lucid dreams with real-life consequences, with a protagonist Sonny that is used to being rejected by other people and suffering through his problems alone. But the context of the story is a charming town full of caring and unique people who want the best for Sonny and vice versa, even if they don't really know him. Sonny approaches people like they are explosives who haven't gone off yet, and picks apart every smile and compliment, not from bitterness but genuine surprise. I was so moved and engaged by this story seeing them come together into an organic community where Sonny actually belongs, where exchanging care is a given and his presence is truly wanted. It took me back to a time in middle school re-learning how to be around humans, taking the hard step of trusting people again after so long being alone. The game play is the classic VN setup you've seen around, excellently executed. The text is funny and engaging, with crisp characterizations, and genuinely hard puzzles about the characters that tests your attention to detail and understanding about how different people behave. With the right solutions you get an incredibly sweet epilogue but it took me a few tries to make it. And the plot-centric choices were SO HARD TO MAKE! I knew exactly what they meant and had to agonize over how to proceed. Truly a must play. Great as a gift for someone with a big heart. To the devs: thanks * 1,000,000

Good story, very engaging characters.

Lucid dreaming is something people often strive for. But what if your dreams had consequenses in the real world, specially over other people, like someone getting hurt or even dying? Without giving spoilers, I can say that Dare to Lucid Dream have an engaging story, likeable characters, multiple endings and great soundtrack/visuals.

Faz tempo que procuro uma VN como essa! Tem todos os elementos que eu gosto nesse tipo de jogo: Personagens: Existem vários personagens no jogo. Cada um com design próprio, maneira de falar, de agir, defeitos e qualidades. Acho impossível alguém terminar o jogo e falar que não tem um personagem favorito. Ao menos um que goste mais ou menos do que os outros. Ambientação: O jogo se passa em poucos locais, o que permite que cada ambiente possua suas características únicas. Grande parte do jogo se passa no mundo dos sonhos, e a arte, trilha sonora e até mesmo as caixas de diálogo refletem essa mudança. Enredo: Pode parecer uma premissa simples: "um garoto possui sonhos lúcidos que afetam a vida real". Mas ao longo da história muitas outras coisas acontecem envolvendo muito mais personagens. Eu arrisco dizer que as partes acordado são ainda mais interessantes do que os sonhos. Duração: O jogo não se estende mais do que o necessário. A história é contada de maneira completa e coerente sem desperdiçar o tempo do jogador. Ao mesmo tempo, o fator replay - como é comum nas VNs - permite que você veja a história se desenrolar de diferentes maneiras e chegando a diferentes finais. Conclusão: O jogo traz personagens interessantes vivendo em um mundo bastante coerente tanto com a vida real quanto com as regras do mundo em que vivem. A trilha sonora e ambientação são ótimas e o jogo respeita o seu tempo e te permite aproveitar inteiramente todo o conteúdo sem cansar.

Um jogo maravilhoso, o primeiro jogo brasileiro que coloco as mãos, a história é cativante e o visual dos personagens também prende bastante, a narrativa apesar de simples e não super complexa faz esse jogo ser como aquele ônibus meio vazio que se pega numa sexta feira depois de um dia cansativo, voltando pra casa num entardecer, uma jornada aconchegante durante as horas que te prende (e OOO se te prende). Com Spoiler: Muito interessante como temas lgbtqiap+ são abordados de maneira leve, natural, e a maneira como o monstro nos sonhos é a materialização da depressão, do vazio que a falta de alguém querido pode fazer nas pessoas, às consumindo, foi muito interessante como metáfora. Acredito que a única coisa que teria tornado a experiencia melhor para mim como player seria uma relação mais puxada para o romance entre Lucas e Sonny (Nem pra sair um beijinho :( ), mas de qualquer forma foi uma ótima experiencia vivenciar essa historia e super recomendo <3 Já quero acompanhar outros trabalhos do dev se sair o.o

It’s been a while since a visual novel had me on the edge of my seat, such an immersive experience! Each character is so unique, from their design to their personality, and I ended up becoming so attached to each one of them that I can’t even say which one is my favorite, honestly. I loved the ‘lucid dream’ concept and how it is applied to every aspect of the game, including the visuals, music and story, especially how the dream parts differ aesthetically from the real world. The story is very well written and develops at a perfect pace, and I would be lying if I said it didn't move me to tears hahaha Also, I'm particularly happy to see that my choices actually impact how the story develops and ends. I'm inclined to play through the game more times just to see all the options! Dare to Lucid Dream is a game clearly made with lots of love and attention to detail. I highly recommend it!!

The character design is very beautiful and full of personality, with a storyline that includes a really interesting element that makes you reflect on the world around you. I had a great experience.

É tão bom poder jogar uma visual novel em pt-br, isso não acontece com frequência, então é ótimo que aqui teve a opção em português além de inglês. A arte e música do jogo são ótimas, tem bastante ilustrações e cenários, uma boa variedade de personagens e a escrita flui muito bem. Fico feliz em poder jogar algo que tenho acompanhado o andamento desde o ano passado, dá pra ver que teve bastante carinho e esforço envolvido. E o preço do jogo é bastante acessível, considerem apoiar com ou sem promoção~~

很有意思的游戏！cg量比我预想的多好多，结合剧情有种在看动画的感觉，节奏好舒服。负责美术的老师做的人物设计都好可爱，可爱的点很多，像汽水里的碳酸泡泡总有细节让我惊喜 剧本也是好细腻的描写，喜欢既吊人胃口又不失温情的剧情发展…角色间的关系很有自己的风格，怎么想到用这些角度去描写角色的，让读者去用自己的眼睛去了解角色是我被戳中的地方…写的很精彩！ 时间关系只推了两个结局，虽然语言问题我理解的还远不够深，但即便如此我也能说这是款我很喜欢、会在有时间的时候反复游玩的游戏 表达能力不佳但还是想留个评论，能在这个夏天玩到这个游戏太好了，辛苦了！非常感谢！

The game is absolutely amazing! The art is beautiful, with a wide variety of styles, and each one is more stunning than the last. I was genuinely blown away by how rich the visual experience is, both in quality and quantity. The storyline is engaging and flows so naturally that I found myself losing track of time while playing. Every part of this game shows an incredible level of attention and passion. You can tell it was made with genuine love and dedication. Highly recommended! :D
