"Connect the points with neon rays to liberate virtual city of Santermonia from the Main Virtual Controller's tyranny". Ok, given the two tags this game has - "indie" and "casual", since 2018 - I wouldn't go too far about Santermonia and the whole plot.. even because there are several spelling errors, since it's a Russian indie game. This weirdly-titled game fits actually more into the "puzzle" category, and it offers almost a hundred levels! The concept of the game is pretty unique, too. It's not made with Unity, so it'll weirdly start in a small windowed mode and you'll have to put it full-screen in order to get a proper experience, just to start. Oh, I couldn't take screenshots due to how the game was made, but you can get them everywhere.. even if there are few reviews. Back to the game, you'll start with some kind of sci-fi skippable story with colorful characters - really nothing interesting - and finally get to the real game. We'll have for each level to activate the stations, i.e.: connecting nodes with lines. We're asked, basically, to connect every generator in the playing field by tracing light paths. And lots of level will require careful planning, since you'll be limited for what concerns the segments you'll be able to put down on the screen. The right mouse button used as an "undo" feature is also extremely welcome. Plus, the gaming field will often cover more than a single screen asking you to move around with the mouse in order to see it all. Unluckily, the game requires extreme precision for many levels - you'll see in it what I mean. The light you'll be able to create will be only into straight line form, so that you'll have to be extremely careful on where to place it. Well, the premises are simple but the tons of levels and, if you want, the "backstory" of this game make it quite nice to me. It's challenging, it doesn't get annoying (apart from the boring MIDI music) and yeah, it costs too much, but it's at 50% right now just to say here on Steam so it can be bought sooner or later. If you're looking for a nice challenging puzzle, this one has good mechanics and overall employs nice ideas. The segments, with their limits, the generators and the addition of other generators that will function as "beacons" halfway your path add difficulty to the game that overall never gets extremely hard. It's a nice indie attempt and I'd promote it. Just add the "puzzle" category tag, since it's only a puzzle =P

This is a pure puzzle game. You have 80 levels in total, split into 5 different areas. In each level you need to connect all generators by placing lines through them, and that's the main game mechanics. First levels are of course simple, but the more you progress, the more often you will encounter challenging levels. What makes this game unique is its logic. In most puzzles the correct solution looks beautiful and clear: you usually know that you are doing something wrong if you try fitting in a tiny hole or making another silly shortcut. This games breaks this golden rule. Here you need to optimize you path as much as possible, fit in tiny spaces and cut every corner possible. It actually becomes easier once you understand this logic: don't try to make your solution beautiful, make it effective. Sometimes you need to make almost pixel-perfect placements to solve the level, which may be a bit hard, but it's not as frustrating as it might sound: you don't have any time limits and you always see if it's possible to place your amplifier here (it's highlighted). Overall I think the levels are quite well thought, and I've encountered only one bug, where I was able to make a path through the wall (it didn't help me in solving that level though). The game also has a sci-fi story with quite a few characters. But I can't say that it was easy to follow it (maybe because I had a one-year break in playing, lol). The game looks good and it was pleasant to play it. The satisfaction reward for solving each hard level also adds to the overall positive experience. I recommend this game to anyone who loves puzzles (mostly harder ones). But keep in mind that sometimes you need to make pixel-perfect solutions.
Danger!Energy is a fun puzzle game with, as far as I'm aware, a unique concept. The goal is to create a segmented path of light through all of the "generators". Some levels have only a few generators and some have many. Some levels have unlimited segment lengths while others have limited segment lengths. Some of the levels are easy, but many of them require careful planning of the path as well as trial and error to determine how activating each generator affects the level overall (by controlling switches, activating "substations" which emit their own light, etc). Even though it requires a lot of trial and error, which I usually find annoying, I found Danger!Energy to be extremely enjoyable. I never felt frustrated or angered, despite the difficulty of many of the levels. If there's anything I could point to as a con, and it's something that others may find frustrating or annoying, it's that many of the levels require pixel-perfect accuracy, so you need to have a steady hand. It is always clearly indicated where you can place your light segment and where you cannot, so it's never guesswork, but there are many points where you have literally only one pixel on which to place your light. Even with this required accuracy (which would normally cause me to quit in frustration and never look back), I always found this game to be enjoyable and never found it to be a chore or tedious. There are 80 levels in total -- 5 sections with 15 levels each, and then one more level per section after you complete those 75 levels. My play time is just over 13 hours, though I tend to take longer than others in most games. Whatever your skill or playing speed, I expect this game will keep you entertained for quite a while. I definitely recommend this to anyone who enjoys puzzle games and has a steady hand.
