I was lucky enough to play this game as a tester in an early Beta phase and immediately fell in love with it. Especially liked the idea for the story, the soundtrack and the creative mob design. Also the colorful hand drawn sceneries give the game a very funky psychedelic feel - the designers really went all in with their love for detail here! On top of that, the evergrowing empathy for Aiko, the puzzles and overall diverse gameplay add up to a really immersive indie-game-feeling. Would definitely recommend :)
Daiich Dash is nice. Crazy, trippy visuals and beautifully hand drawn environments are definetly the strongest point of the game, so if you are looking for a crazy visual experience this is it. The game play is pretty challenging and can sometime even be frustrating.... But the controls are solid, so with some practice everything seems doable. Gameplay wise every level is different in it core mechanics. Some focus more on shooting, some on platforming, some on puzzle solving, while some even put you in different vehicles like a Mech. Personally I preferred the traditional levels more, but thats just my taste. The Boss battles are crazy everytime and also pretty cool. Only downside here is that it takes a while to figure out the mechanics of each boss, because so much crazy ♥♥♥♥ is happening on screen. Music is also dope, a mix of calming and intense techno music. All in all: Good value for this game, very diverse, pretty unique experience once you manage to get a hang of the controls and the difficulty.

"Daiichi Dash" is one of literally thousands of retro 2D platformers infesting Steam and lowering the average quality of all video games everywhere... and I'm not kidding. Searching for "platformers" on the Steam store page yields over 17,000 results! Is this one of the best of those? Absolutely not. This very poorly made 2D retro platformer/shooter features godawfully bad visuals, slightly worse gameplay, and an utterly offensive plot, as the developers tried (and thankfully failed) to get YOUR money off the back of people suffering from the Fukushima nuclear disaster. Yeah, these guys want to get paid for exploiting and making light of real human suffering. Disgusting, isn't it? Platforming is an old, mostly dead genre, and this lacklustre experience, while it doesn't have an upfront cost, isn't saving the genre... it's no surprise this failed to capture any attention from gamers in the era of immersive 3D gaming. In terms of visuals, this features really godawful MS-Paint/"baby's first Wacom tablet" tier "art" instead of real graphics. It's hard to say if this was because the developer didn't have the skill to do the job of creating 3D visuals, or couldn't afford to hire someone who does, but it also doesn't matter. What matters is that this looks much worse than most other games because of that decision, and that's a major deterrent to gamers. The deplorably bad visuals here come across as an insult to gamers. Insultingly, the developer insists that you should play this with a console peasant children's toy gamepad instead of KB+M. You cannot play this without a console peasant children's toy. Developers should try to be aware which platform they're designing games for. It's the responsibility of the developer to ensure the game runs well on the platform they're selling it on, with the primary peripherals that PC gamers use. This game is fairly dated at 5 years old... and even back then it looked old and busted compared to contemporary, professionally made 3D games of the same period. It looked bad then, it looks worse now. It's free... now, but it wasn't before. The developer was charging $8 USD for this. Price barriers, especially on low quality products, can be a direct cause of failure. It's a nice gesture for the game to be given away for free, but it also tells us that the game wasn't good enough to succeed as a paid product. It's also a bit of a slap in the face to anyone who paid money for this... nobody got refunded. Despite having no up-front cost, this failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 2 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Nope. This isn't worth downloading. There's no financial cost up-front, but you'd still be spending your time and a little hard drive space on a product that's far from the best. There's thousands of better alternatives on Steam.
Daiichi Dash is a very fun and unique platform run and gun. The art and sound design are incredible and blend well together to create and immersive world that is able to tell an interesting story with no dialogue and very few cut scenes. Although the gameplay can be very challenging, once it has been mastered there is a certain fluidity to the game that pushes you to try and beat your best times and high scores on each level, it would be awesome if we could get a Global Leader Board in future so I could compare my scores to others. One other thing I would like to see added to the game in the future is a creative mode of a way of appreciating the art in its entirety without worrying about enemies and platforming. I would definitely recommend this game if you enjoy an old school run and gun challenge.
I found Daiichi Dash a very Intriguing game, It is about a Japanese girl seeking vengeance for the destruction of her hometown. The plot of this game is in a psychedelic world where you are playing Aiko, you are in this old school arcade Video game (goes very well with an X Box controller), going about running and gunning not not just that - you have controls mated to many actions, you can briefly fly, use all sorts of weapons that you could have only imagined to have on a side scroller game like Contra. Daiichi dash uses these colourful hand drawn graphics and intense techno music to keep you engaged. This Game is difficult but it always keeps you on the Edge. To sum it up i'd say an arcade game taken into a full blown Psychedelic trip. I had an amazing time playing it. If you love controller based games, THIS IS YOUR PICK!
Played it for a bit but I was too baked. Good game, pretty solid controls. Enemies could use some work but it's fun and fast.
very good game
