Warning: Asset Flip!
Cyber Battle 69 is a Unity asset flip, or what Valve calls a "Fake Game". The "developer" paid for/pirated a selection of Synty Games low poly asset packs from the Unity Asset Store, put them in a blender, and slapped their own name on it, pretending it was their work. They did have a potentially serious attempt at trying to make some kind of VR exclusive low poly Zombie shooter by taking Synty's work, but that never eventuated. The game was abandoned roughly a month after launch and hasn't been updated in almost 3 years. It blew past the developers commitment to complete the game. There's no reliable indication the game will ever be completed, which is another reason for gamers to avoid this. Taking this shovelware seriously as if it was a genuine attempt to make a game, it doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers. This seems to have been made a VR exclusive to prevent any comparison with non-VR 3D games, a comparison that this game would fail very badly at. Developers must learn that while VR is great, if the only thing that makes the game great is the VR, then the game isn't great at all. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. The poor quality of this game is reflected in the general public reception. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the game only ever reached a peak player count of only 3 players. That's right, only 3. This is a pitiful enough number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam, the overwhelming lack of interest in the game is remarkable, but also to be expected. This complete and utter rejection of the game from gamers should be a keen information point for anyone considering buying shovelware like this. Gamers just didn't take this seriously, and for good reason, it's an abandoned Early Access asset flip. Unethically, the developer sold keys to this abandoned Early Access game into cheap, nasty game bundles, where they knew it would be advertised and sold as a complete game. This seems to have been done in an attempt to mislead gamers into buying a knowingly faulty, defective and incomplete product. When a developer does this for a game they have zero practical intention of completing, this is essentially a scam, an intention to get paid for a broken/unfinished product. Often this is done as an exit strategy, as the developer takes the money and runs. No refunds have been given, the developer kept all the money they took from gamers. The game contains stock/store assets and other packages (specifically all of the game assets were made by Synty), but the "developer" here hasn't credited the people who actually did the work for the game. While this isn't necessarily against the license for the use of those assets, claiming the work of others as your own is highly unethical. Gamers should be made aware when a developer behaves unethically, as buying games from unethical developers puts the gamers money at risk. Cyber Battle 69 has an overly optimistic price of around $5 USD, it's not worth it given the defects and shortcomings with the product, especially considering the sheer number of completely free, much higher quality games on Steam.
Nice game, with fun enough gameplay. Of cource buggy a bit from time to time, but hope devs will fix everything ASAP. Recommend it if you like CoD: Z style games with co-op.
This game is still under development, BUT I had really great fun playing it. Updates are regular, developers really want to make an enjoyable experience out of this. Shooting mechanics are good, objectives are simple, some take a little more effort, but nothing impossible. Some zombies run at you, some dodge your shots, some are throwing stuff at ya. It has 69 in the title... Niiice! :D
This is a roguelike sci-fi zombie shooter with multiplayer, developed by a small team made of gamers. Graphics are nice, game is well optimised. Best played with friends in multiplayer. There are currently two game modes with 3 maps. Some things are self explanatory and some you have to find out yourself. There are at least a dozen weapons to choose from with different characteristics. There are one handed and two handed weapons as well. Weapons are upgradable for a few scraps to deal more damage and add some attachments. There are random pickups and ammo scattered around the city and some hidden crates with secrets. The zombies are fun to hunt (actually they hunt you), headshots deal extra damage and weakspots take them down with one hit. Special zombies make them really diverse and even more fun. The game is still under heavy development, the devs are passionate about it and care about players opinion. I was participating in the closed beta of this game and it changed a lot before entering Early Access. Cyber Battle 69 is fun to play at it's current state, there are some bugs but nothing game breaking.
A pretty good game for early access, the coop is fun
garbo
Game has been abandonned, shame it had potential.
