Rileggere CASE1 e CASE3 dopo aver letto CASE0 darà emozioni completamente differenti.
I like the direction this visual novel takes in terms of giving pseudo-routes and having only one definitive ending. I was able to enjoy the whole thing from start to finish without thinking about other routes I may have missed and other endings, kind of like it was a whole movie. Anyways, the Steam version of this game does change some things from the original if that bothers you. A patch to get the game in its original state is available. I don't really want to say more about the details of the game since it's very interesting to explore it blindly. I highly recommend it.

I have many mixed feelings about the story. It is well written and well made, with a vast amount of depth and understanding of what actually makes a good story good.
For starts, I get what they tried to do with the main villain, but his actions went injustified still and his resolve was lacking, plus in the end of it all the MC trusted him again and wielded no actual hatred. Honestly I am a huge fan of good endings but more importantly I hate having bs thrown at me, suddenly everything collapsed, out of nowhere, you knew something bad was coming the whole way, but it ended up being way worse. The MC was essentially forced to thread a path that was written for him and I cannot forgive that and had to accept at the end that everything was okay? There was never a goodbye, whoever wrote this was aware that the last time the MC actually saw her was before leaving their home and was deprivated of everything afterwards. No, this is not alright man. I don't forgive anyone. This is what I hate the most about bad endings, they never make any sense at all. You are telling me, no one knew anything, no one could do anything, there was absolutely no resistance at all? There's way more holes than that, which they TRIED to cover up at the end to no use. And honestly the worst part was the surgery, which made everything even less acceptable, yes bro she's dead. SHE IS DEAD AND IT HAS NO MORE MEANING. Honestly brah I would literally just kill her and km afterwards, the so called humanity that they are trying to protect were the ones who took everything he had. It just feels so weird that there could easily have a middle ground or good ending here, but everything threaded to god simply putting a guilliotine down. I hate this and honestly I hope no one plays it next. It honestly feels like someone pulled the plug out at the end just for the sake to aim to be the new clannad or something. It's overly complex and doesn't teach you anything at the end. "Well shi I guess its over lil bro she asked for your help" AND WOW everything IS IN CRAMBLES. As a matter of fact, there's no explanation for her powers is there? Man honestly I hope humanity in this game just goes to extinction, they don't deserve to live anyway. Alright man maybe I was too harsh, there's a epilogue and I am reading it right now... After finishing the Epilogue well...it made me happier but makes even less sense. For me the biggest issue was her lobomization. It was completely unneeded and just added more friction, make Asumo extremely evil to the point of being unforgivable. He literally killed her for no reason and since we don't understand her powers, it could made everything simply collapse. It was stupid and the story could very well work without it, she could have fully lost her memories from hosting the dream world and her coming back could have a shi load of sense. Now the Epilogue, she came back because by the rules of the world, if everyone has the same beliefs of something it could appear in the world, which was the god they talked about, which mades sense but is extremely fragile, together with the lobotomization thing, they build everything on logic just to throw it all off the window. Also worse, let's say I perfectly made a close of myself, would it be me? Someone else? Just a copy? This concept applies here but at a even worse scale because it's not a perfect copy but a character of someone that people believe to exist, honestly sad and I will honestly try to cope, but if the idea was to bring light back after all that happened, it honestly didn't do the whole job. About the story extras for the characters, I loved it. I felt like Olivia and Rin's (mainly Olivia) could have received more attention, but I guess is that in Momo's case she didn't get much scenes to begin with, but I would be fine with connections across scenes anyway. To finish this review...well...honestly I was not going to recommend it. But it's a good game. But I feel like it tried too hard being a CLANNAD? But the story was very long and complex, so I assume writers were just trying to tie the end already. It is for sure one of the best VN's I have played, but since it lacked some depth and some actual logic near the end it lands quite flat and it has that lurking dark feeling all across it which makes it a somewhat hot cold experience. If they were to make the end a little less cruel so you could relate more to how characters feel and keep the hope alive, plus making all case's endings a bit more in-depth this would have been the best visual novel I ever played. Otherwise, well not really. BUT it's good, I laughed a lot, loved the characters, felt all the good and bad emotions... Again, removing the lobotomization of Yonagi would not change the lead of the story and actually make it make sense and be more relatable. --- ABOUT THE CASES RIN - The most realistic of them all, hit a bit too close home with the pregnancy stuff. Not a fan of Rin as a character and I thought the MC was very pathetic (although largely justified), I believe Yonagi wanted to make it this way on purpose. OLIVIA - She's hot and funny, I really like how she comes across and her dynamic with Will. She had the most painful ending honestly. She is on par with momochi, but if I really had to choose she would be my favorite. MOMOCHI - Momochi is adorable and has that brat on her, she is beautiful too and she pampers the MC a lot which I really liked (since I self-insert), it has a lot of jokes and is very light hearted with a simple ending, made me feel all fuzzy and shi. Favorite on par with Olivia. YONAGI - Yonagi is literally all the girls mixed onto one, it's kinda crazy. It's really cute how they grow up and all, but the way her story was dealt with highly affects my opinion about her, because I believe she is nothing but a walking corpse. But just personality wise...she is great! She is funny and cute, proper and sometimes a teaser. I felt glad to hear her voice again at the epilogue.
Well that's kinda it. This game has some shortfalls but its good...I wish it was handled with a tiny bit more care. I kept my recommendation negative because I still can't understand the pitfall.
The story was emotional and very beautiful, yes it had some flaws in Case 0 and especially in the Epilogue. I have a lot of questions, but not gonna lie, I was more focused on the main characters Kaito and Yonagi rather than questioning the plot. After all, I am fond of them. Overall the music, art, and story are good. The characters for me are well written. One of the best. I really really enjoyed it.
