Cute Things Dying Violently

To preface this, I won this on steamgifts.com. Cute Things Dying Violently is a simple puzzle game that doesn't offer much to the players in the form of complexity. The basic mechanic is very similar to Angry Birds, where you "flick" "cute" things into a door... their homes? It relies on it's violence to try to grab the player with crude humor about bloodshed and destruction. The core gameplay was way to simple and it became grindy and repetitive rather quickly. It did teach me a very valuable lesson about reading and playing through tutorials. You should always complete them and read them thoroughly. Anyways, I would say it is 2/5. Not worth your time in my opinion.

Do you smile at the thought of "accidental" electrocution? Then boy have we got the game for you! Introducing Cute Things Dying Violently, a game where nothing bad happens. CTDV is all about hapless Critters, and the Critters need your help! Launch them around to get them safely out of each level. Dodge all sorts of lethal goodies like spikes, buzzsaws, and fire, and use a variety of wacky items to pull it off. And if a few dozen (or hundred) of them get turned into charred, smoking husks in your attempt to save them... something something omelettes and broken eggs. Broken, bloody eggs. - Recommended!

Reasonably promising Lemmings/Angry Birds hybrid which suffers from iffy mouse control... In windowed mode, it's easy to move the mouse outside and lose control. In full-screen, it's still sometimes difficult to grab things - and some levels require you do with with considerable precision. It's clearly been designed with touch-screens in-mind - but it doesn't seem to recognize Windows touch devices and sticks with mouse controls even on those So hard to recommend then...

It's as good as the title suggests. It even come with a really good, easy to use level editor.

A cute mix between Lemmings and Angry Birds. Controls well with the mouse, and has that 'one more level' addictiveness that keeps players up for longer than intended. Recommended. A fair value at full price.

Clever little game. Nice, low cost purchase. I think with some more development, this could be a classic.

[h1]Перед моей покупкой[/h1] Нашёл эту игру пока искал игры с Мастерской. Посмотрев скриншоты я сначал решил, что это какой-то трэшок для детей и любителей песочниц. Однако, так как игра стоит 26 рублей, имеет Мастерскую, положительные отзывы и неунылые скриншоты, мне пришлось купить. [h1]Поиграв[/h1] Оказалось интересно, и мозг надо напрягать. Цель игры в том, что надо загнать этих криттеров (как минимум одного) в бежевые двери (которые ещё надо открыть с помощью какой-нибудь кнопки). Для этого надо зажать левую кнопку мыши на каком-нибудь криттере либо предмете, и затем нужно выбрать мышкой нужную траекторию куда ему лететь (напоминает бросание гранат в Worms). Ещё можно их перемещать (но только по оси X и только в своей зоне!). А ещё криттеры сами по себе ходят — могут взять и на шипы упасть. Сам геймплей разнообразный: тут много всяких предметов (пружины, ветрогенераторы, бомбы и многое другое). Когда кто умирает, на весь экран долго выплёскивается кровь Криттера — приятно смотреть. Буду дальше проходить (пока сыграл всего лишь полчаса) — потом отзыв ещё дополню, а пока пусть будет хоть какой-то отзыв на русском языке. [h1]Техническая сторона[/h1] Кстати, я играл на Arch Linux — ни одной проблемы не было. FPS на моей горячущей старой low-end карточке — 60. Игра на движке Unity. В папке с игрой обнаружил два бинарника для Linux (32 бит, 64 бит), а ещё .apk размером в 47 МиБ (бесплатная копия для Android, как и завещено в описании этой игры).
