Curved Space is an intense arcade-style twin-stick shooter that takes the classic formula and plunges it into the weirdest reaches of space. Battle cosmic space-invading spiders across curved landscapes where bullets hug the terrain while the horizon drops sharply out of sight.

What is this game about: In 3 words Curved Space is about Push Forward Combat. The same phrase used by ID software to explain the combat philosophy of Doom 2016 which results in frantic, nail biting, free flowing combat. It is not that Curved Space was designed to mimic Doom, however good design decisions and good combat often share characteristics in common. Yes the name and the gimmick behind Curved Space, make a big deal out of the technology that enables acrobatic maneuvering and shooting over curved surfaces. Yes the Campaign has multiple paths and expertly voiced dialogue. Yes the weapons are many and awesome and absurdly unique. Yes there is an energy lash that lets you siphon energy from your enemies and energy nodes alike. But that is just where the game starts, that is just how the game pulls you in and shows you its wares. The game really comes alive and starts to shine once you get past all of that and start to dig deeper into the nuanced combat system. Curved Surfaces translate to free flowing navigation and multiple avenues of scape and attack when you are in the thick of battle, multiple weapons translate to choosing your own gameplay style and just as many upgrades translate to, optimizing that play style for maximum efficacy. The lash and the dash however are what will keep you alive, they are the way you ram enemies for insta-kills and extra health refills, and absurd amounts of points on chained combos. Let me tell you: A billion points is possible in this game, perhaps even a trillion, but it will take every ounce of concentration and optimization on your part to claim that victory in the game's public scoreboards. Come play the game, learn the basic combat through the Campaign, hone your skills in the Arenas, and come prove what you are made of in Survival, Endless and Daily Modes. Perhaps one day you will be able to finish the Campaign in Nightmare with all of the modifiers that make the game even harder, including the 'No Continues" (Permadeath) option turned on! But don't think this is only for the ultra hardcore audience, there is a casual mode as well as 5 more levels of difficulty for everyone in between to have fun and leave their mark on the corresponding score board or to collect their platform's achievements. Pick up the game and go as deep as you'd like, you will have fun! I know I have for over 200 hours, and am just as excited as everyone else to keep playing.
Awesome game! If you love arcade style shooter games - download this game *now!* I found this game is a great deal & well worth the investment for hours of enjoyment after a stressful day. The music soundtrack is engaging & energized. The story-line idea is new, original & thought provoking. The creators of this game & studio have poured incredible effort & TLC in their creation. When I played this game, I could experience the obvious dedication. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to get back to killin' spiders with unique weapons!
'Curved Space' is a cosmic top-down arcade shooter with twisted level design that allows you to loop around corners as you strategically defeat wave after wave of enemies. It’s a novel approach giving you 360 degrees of control over your spacecraft, similar, in some ways, to fellow shoot ‘em up, Super Stardust HD. The graphics are not the most striking, or original, but 'Curved Space' in motion is a thing of beauty. And the gameplay is super satisfying. Typical shooter mechanics are in place – there’s plenty of diverse weapons, a speed boost and collectable upgrades. One really original feature is your ship’s lash move. You are able to fire out a sort of electric lasso that allows you connect enemies to one another – or tether them to harvest stations. This is a game that will keep you occupied for some time. There’s a campaign mode featuring an interesting story, with branching pathways, daily challenges, high score challenges, and more. I particularly liked the opening of the campaign mode. Rather than being tacked on, the tutorial is embedded into the story and slowly introduces you to the game’s mechanics one by one. A typical level features several waves of mechanical enemies, each requiring different approaches. You may need to harvest spiders, or destroy a specific radiant variety, roaming the battlefield. The giant bug bosses require strategy, and full use of the twisted landscape to take down. 'Curved Space' is an addictive shooter that has enough features to make it stand out from the crowd.
The game is hectic and the curvature melts your brain, but it is a ton of fun! I want need more laser cutter and flame blade action in my life! A lot of time was put into the details and visuals. Everything have it's meaning and guiding you. A "git gud" game with lot of skills to master. Oh and the music... THE MUSIC! Amazing!
Just wanted to mention that this one plays like a dream on a Deck (even though it's not marked as such on the store page). Definitely a slick game with a clever dimensional twist on the usual twin-stick formula and the soundtrack slaps too. Give this one a shot if you're looking for a smart take on a well established concept.
This game RIPPPS! I've been playing the game non stop since i got it. Lots of fun game modes, and the action is non stop!
Not fun. Ship moves so slow. The spherical areas don't enhace the gameplay, but make it worse. I often needed to search for enemies or the current objective on the 3D area. Bosses are bullet sponges without being dangerous, they just take long to shoot down. Tutorial was bad. Buttons were not explained. Story lines are weird. Music is ok, but has long cuts so that I thought something went wrong. The only thing I liked was that the projectile's paths were distorted by the 3D area and generally the idea of the game, but I found the gameplay was so badly made that I cannot recommend this game.
Its an old school Arcade style game on Steroids. So much fun and refreshing from the normal. Finally a unique game that stands apart from the rest! its simply just FUN! And that music gets ya pumped. Amazing and loving it ! I highly recommend it!
A fun twinstick shooter with a difference. It looks 3d but it's actually 2d - but the dimension is curved, which makes for some interesting levels. Combat's surprisingly relaxed so it's perfect for the casual gamer. A very nice shooter built for replayability. Has a tidy campaign but features a range of other modes and there's a good range of enemy and weapons. Combat's relaxed for a twin stick shooter. A super creative and fast paced game that'll keep you on your toes! You'll start off feeling like you can take on anything with your little blaster. However things change very fast and you end up adapting very quickly without even realizing it. You'll start off keeping your distance and trying to stay safe, but after a short while and after gaining some confidence, you'll be charging in trying to lash and dash in no time. Additionally, with the various amount of weapons and enemies you'll have a lot of fun experimenting with combinations while trying to survive. If you're looking for something fast paced with an absolutely bumping soundtrack, definitely give this a try!
