About
Cursed Crew is a crew management roguelite where you’re a captain sailing the untamed seas! You’re responsible for giving orders, managing the ship’s resources, keeping your crew happy, fighting pirates and beasts, and taking charge when all hell breaks loose. But you and your crew are cursed, destined to sail endlessly, unless you can find a way to break free!
The following features are already in the current version of the game:
Survival (hunger, sleep and morale needs)
Crafting and cooking
Travelling on a world map
Random events
Boarding and close combat
Ship to ship combat
Dynamic weather
Many weapons, items and cannons
Various creatures and bosses
Various humanoid races you can recruit
Various ships and ship variants
And more will be added in the future!
A ship needs both a captain and a crew. As the captain, you command your crew and stock the ship with supplies and food to keep everyone happy and healthy. You also plunder and spend treasure, plot your ship’s course, and pick story events that lead to battles, treasure, or secrets.
Your crew takes care of the ship with or without orders: they steer, build, repair, go fishing, and prepare meals. In battle, they put out fires, haul supplies, load and man cannons, and defend your ship from beasts and enemy sailors. Your crew is an asset—so long as their morale is high. Positive events like well-fought victories, a good night’s rest, and delicious food and grog boost your crew’s morale, whereas unpleasant situations like lost battles, shipmate deaths, sleep deprivation, and starvation hurt it. A resentful crew member is a problem: they might ignore your orders, throw destructive tantrums, lose all motivation to work, or even start a mutiny against you!
These waters are infested with danger, so do whatever it takes to defend your ship! Order your crew to construct and man the cannons and fire at anything that moves. Batter your enemies with grapeshot and hull-breaching artillery, and use harpoon guns to reel in and board enemy vessels for a proper swashbuckling battle. Clear out those scallywags by arming your crew with daggers, cutlasses, flintlock pistols, muskets, and bombs.
Prepare for many deadly encounters on your journey. The high seas are filled with murderous pirates, skeleton crews, ghosts, rat men, packs of killer sharks, violent winds and storms, ravenous megalodons and more!
Set sail in a vessel that tells the world what kind of captain you really are. There are variants of each ship and they all come with their own starter loadout.
Caravels: Swift and well balanced, these ships are excellent at catching and boarding weaker vessels.
Carracks: Big and made for war, they’re slower than most ships, and they often come with more cannons than men.
Cogs: Sturdy and resilient with a fortified castle, they’re capable of taking a hit and returning the favor with their devastating mortars.
Raiders: Originally built as trading vessels, these medium-sized ships are designed for speed and maneuverability.
Arrange and decorate your ship’s deck and floors just how you like them. A well-designed ship has strategically placed cannons, protected hammocks for sleeping, and stores of food and goods. Don’t forget structures for crafting like a woodworking bench, tailoring bench, smithy, cartography table, and kitchen.
Make a memorable team of buccaneers by customizing your captain and crew! Experiment with fashionable hairstyles, mustaches, expressions, tattoos, hats, attire, and more. Create a flag to match and strike terror into the hearts of the unfortunate sailors who cross you!

I love the Concept and Art in Cursed Crew. The art reminds me of "Don't Starve" or "Oxygen Not Included". While CC does not reflect those games in any way, it is still fun and wacky to say the least. CC is in early access and filled with minor issues(bugs), however the developers are attentive and caring. With any game in early access you will always find unpleasantries, however my biggest one would have to be the price point! Like always, i point out that games should always be under 20, but that is just me. If you are looking for some Roguelike/strategy then try the DEMO! Blockhead APPROVED!!!
Sadly dead in the water.
Not the best game yet but with alot of potentiel. I bought it to support them while enjoying there Rimworld-Mods :)

The game is very fun. I highly recommend this game to other players who like this type of game. Note to the devs: I am very impressed with your work on this game. I am writing this note to you guys to help as I have noticed some bugs that can potentially hinder or completely stop your playthrough. The bugs and their workarounds are as follows: Sometimes you can't sleep. If you go to the main menu and rejoin, you can sleep again. Sometimes you can't leave the bed after sleeping. Not sure if there is a workaround. Sometimes you get stuck carrying something and you are permanently slowed down. Only workaround is to just start a new game. Going to the main menu and rejoining doesn't work. Sometimes the game freezes when loading another area and if you try to leave via the Windows key on your keyboard (If you use a Windows computer), you can't access any of your apps or click on anything else. Only workaround is to completely turn off your computer. Sometimes your crew can't do any important work because of "nearby danger" when there clearly is no nearby danger. Not sure if there is a workaround. These are the bugs that I have encountered, but I am sure there are more. However, I do know that this game is in Alpha so bugs are to be expected. I still enjoy playing this game, and I know that improvements will be made later on, so good luck on your adventure!
After an update, the game locks up my Windows 10 PC. Otherwise I enjoyed the game with the promise of it becoming more. Not worth $20 as is, even without locking up computer. Very cool of them to provide a demo however. I'd probably check out a lot more games if there were a demo. I played 10 minutes over the hour on a new game once and could't get a refund. I was too wrapped up in trying to figure the game out and over played before I realized It wasn't worth it.
Fun Idea but seemingly abandoned by devs
Before I start the review, let me clarify: my actual playtime is about 20 hours. However, since I launched the game using an auto-translation tool, Steam didn't record the playtime. The core gameplay of this title has notable strengths. The wide variety of cannon types, distinct ship designs, and the integration of in-game resource management with the crew system make it quite immersive and honestly addictive. So why the negative review? The main reason is the excessive number of bugs and areas needing optimization. Some aspects, like slightly rigid character animations and occasional stutters, are understandable for a small team. However, certain bugs severely undermine the experience. Issues like being unable to sleep at night or occasional progression halts because threat events fail to trigger are mostly tolerable and can usually be fixed by restarting the game. But the most critical problem is when crew members occasionally enter a dumbstruck state: they continue consuming food due to hunger but become completely unresponsive. In my last save, three crew members were simultaneously affected by this state, making it impossible to continue playing. Despite these issues, I still genuinely like this game and sincerely hope the development team will continue to optimize and improve it. Translated by AI
one major gripe is you can not save your ship's flag or character appearance and have to remake it every time you start a new run but it's quick enough to remake it. Still, I'd rather not have to do so every time I start a new run. it's a very fun pirate roguelike. This game is nowhere near complete. It is in Alpha. It's a lot of fun. Keep your eye on this one.
