Tried to enjoy it and asked questions etc in the discord but the economy is just not there, you are forced to put more money into the game via crates or ETH. On top of that there are also clearly many fake reviews which is a red flag in itself. https://i.imgur.com/vHL9J6R.png 4 reviews from clearly the same person with only CSC on their account, and that's just one example. One of his reviews claim his "guild" all bought the game, just so happens that they all have no games on steam? Google their name and it comes back with nothing but CSC content, even down to the "lords of nibiru" YouTube is just CSC.
This game is an RCE (real cash economy) so it will get a special review from me. Everything you read is and stays my personal opinion. Its assets are tied to ethereum crypto, you can read all about it on their web page. Now to the review. The gameplay is very simple. You get into a ship, you do stuff, you make money, rinse and repeat. There is no story, no rpg elements, no skill to train, nothing to learn (on your character, of course your will learn the game mechanics as a player) in the long run. It is fully tied to your ship and how you equipped it. Its a space sandbox, even more 'sandboxy' than EVE from my point of view. You put in a lot of money into your ship? You can do a lot of stuff. You are flying a starter shuttle? Well, you cannot do much. Which is fine as the game makes you work hard for every upgrade as making money in this game is not simple at all (as a starter, the game is different for "the whales" which I will discuss later in the review). Graphics and the overall vibe are very Wing Commander/Freelancer looking. I like that. What I don't like is the 2-dimensional space. There is no up or down, only a flat plane, just like Rebel Galaxy is (to give you a matching example). In my opinion this is far from acceptable in 2020. So a +/- on this one. Music is basic. Nice but very basic. Nowhere near EVE level. Does it matter? Not really, this game is not about music or sound effects, its about making money, remember? I play most of it without sound on listening to something else anyway. +/- Here too Activities you can do are combat, mining, mission running (combat and delivery) or crafting. Lets take them apart one by one: Combat is super simple. Lock a target, turn on your modules, keep in range, tank if you can, manager your energy. Basically EVE. There is nothing exciting about this type of combat at all as it takes zero skill except knowing your systems and your opponents. Most battles will be 'won' by you outfitting your ship with a lot of good gear. For me this one one big 'MEH'. Then again I play Wurm Unlimited so who am I to say that combat is important, right?:) Mining is ok unless you are doing it in a starter ship. Find a belt, look for specific ores or stripmine anything in the sight (EVE again). Maybe dodge a npc or two or kill them if your ship permits, warp to station, unload, rinse and repeat. Be warned that mining in a starter ship (any of the two you get) is like pulling teeth. It will take you weeks to get somewhere and you might start hating yourself for putting so much time in when you could have just spend 20-30$ on better gear and ship. This game is RCE remember? Why do this to yourself, why spend hours and hours of mining when you could skip all that for a price of one or two pizzas (depending where you live)??? Mining is OK, but only at levels where you get good gear and get to make cash that can matter in the long run. Delivery missions are more fun. Yes they are not easy to find and always available but there are some who are simply rewarding for you clicking two buttons (accept and complete) in the same station. I have no clue why they put those in the game but hey, free gifts, why the hell not? Sometimes you will get modules as rewards, sometimes only cash and sometimes zero rewards (some random junk worth nothing). There are no faction points so just skip the ones worth nothing anyway. As with mining same goes here - faster ship, more cargospace and you net more money per hour. But doing delivery missions is more fun and more lucrative in a starter shuttle than mining and by a factor of 20! If you like to start from nothing I suggest doing deliveries. + here. Crafting: The alpha and omega of this game. The money sink where everything you ever do will eventually land. No crafting? No gear, no ships, no content, no one to buy your ore. Except delivery missions but why do them if you cannot spend that money on anything? Be warned as crafting is extremly money intensive. And often chance based. You need to deconstruct 20 ships to learn to make T1 version of that ship with 100% chance. And when you are at 100% chance you have a 5% chance to make t2 which you then deconstruct again for a chance increase 5%... Up until T5. And this is ships. Gear is 1% per deconstruct. And there is a lot of gear and ships in the game you could make. To master everything? A million dollars? No clue, but a lot of money will be required if you want to be able to make every single item with 100% chance. Geees... I like this! It will give people a chance to specialize. However there is a massive danger which I'm about to discuss next.: THE ECONOMY OF THE WHALES I'm not talking about Wales, you read this right, WHALES. This game, as it stands now, thrives on few players putting in real cash to be on the top. What else is there? It's played by less than 100 people every day (just came out so not surprising, no critic here) and the economy is in shambles! Only a few people with a lot of cash (Alpha players who got all the early rewards? People who paid in a lot of money to play through their credit card? Relatives of the devs who got freebies? Irrelevant, the whales are real!) control buying and selling of every major resources in the game. Adding to it that there is no fractional pricing (you cannot sell something for 0.001 GRP, you can only round it up to 1GRP (ingame currency) which makes some stuff simply impossible to sell in smaller quantities (like iron ore for example)). Fractional pricing is the basic tool of price discovery mechanism in player based economy. Yet it is not there! WHY???? This causes that people eject lesser minerals when mining and keep only pyrite for example (that sells for most of the basic ones). What a waste (of player's time)! And waste of opportunity to let the economy handle itself (like it did for years in EVE). On top of that would you be willing to pvp against a whale player if you knew that he has all of his mods for a fraction of the price you paid? I leave that to you. Economy should be the pillar carrying this game for years. Yet without massive influx of new players it will remain on the level of Entropia Universe (YUCK) where people slave for others in hope of making few dollars. The problem with the 'whale economy' is that when whales decide to leave or get banned or cash out or whatever it ceases to exist and everything falls apart. Imagine if amazon, google and microsoft went down in one day. This is what I'm talking about, the whales are the pillars and that is not a base I find healthy. And the cure for the whales, as I already mentioned, is more players. How many more? 2000 to get the basics started. Why not, the game is fresh, devs are having big plans, player owned stations etc. Well there is one problem with it. SPACE. There isn't any. There is awfully low number of systems in the game. 19 core and 40 fringe. Seriously? 19 core systems with 1 station most in each? Where would you put all those new players? How about limited number of mining belts for new joiners? As it stands now there is NO SPACE for large influx of players. Maybe 100 - 200 active people max, which spells THE END as you cannot expect to get enough cash from 200 people a month and maintain a healthy game (can you? anyone with a different experience?). Or are you aiming at rich people to play this game? I don't think so. I need to mention that the game is still in super early alpha stage and riddled with bugs (like simple ore stacking that does not work 90% of the times which drives me nuts!). I can live with bugs and again no critic here, just be warned that this is a super unfinished product. And finally the community. It ranges from super nice people to toxic POSes. Not suprising, every game that has any kind reward system like this one attracts scum of gaming. If you played EVE, Entropia, LOL or even Fornite you will feel just like at home. Thumbs up for trying from me:) CU ingame.

Game has a long way to go. The in game time it takes to do anything is a bit absurd. I chose a drone killing mission from the starting station that you begin in and it took 30 real life minutes to slipstream there... once I got there, I had 3 drones that spawned. This is normal right? Happens in the tutorial mission too. Targeted the first drone, did some evasive manuevering and was literally dead in 5 seconds. I don't even think I hit the first ship with my lasers. If I did, there's no feedback because everything happens so fast before you're dead. The starter ship they give you for $10 is garbage. It can't even take on an initial drone mission from the starting station. All it's good for is mining initially. The economy the game touts as the gimmick will cost you alot of RL money. Since the initial starship they sell you for 10 bucks is utterly useless in combat, you'll need to buy a better combat boat. Well the SOL system, where you start, doesn't sell any of this stuff in the market. You need to travel elsewhere. Well good luck affording anything with the in game currency, and since it takes so GD long to fly anywhere to do anything, you will be playing this for dozens of hours before you maybe have enough in game currency to purchase something. So...you go to opensea to buy ships and mods with ETH. To get ETH, you need to initially buy GRP, which is the premium currency so you can mint and sell your mods and ships you have in game. But...you need to start out somewhere right? So you buy ships and mods on opensea or from the lootcrates that lucid sight sells you in the store. If you look at the cost of some of the digital ships that sold, they went for thousands of dollars. Yes this game is for investors. But it also has to be for casual's or this wont go anywhere. On steam charts there are on average 50 players at any given time . Granted, you can't use that because there is a standalone client and eventually a mobile app. But in my 2 hours in game, I never saw anyone talk. Everything is in their discord. Combat needs a MAJOR overhaul. These drone missions should not destroy a starter ship so quickly while also taking 30 minutes to arrive at the mission area. Fix combat. Make it so it doesn't take so long to get anywhere. Also, a QOL improvement would be the ability to move around in space instead of on a flat grid with the illusion of 3D around you. More akin to even online. I had to refund this however, because it's so desolate and the combat is atrocious. This game screams money sink once you look at all the loot crates for sale. I understand you need to invest some money to eventually make more. However, the only thing for sale that makes etherium currently are the ships and ship modules. None of the materials are for sale on the block chain such as raw ore. So if you're looking for another space mmo to substitute eve online, this is not it! Either give the game a few more years to add QOL features or just play second galaxy.
Not worth for me,you can lose ships like in eve and it's fully p2w. Some paid ships have unlimited insurance which is not oki. Some warp gates cost real money for those who want a fast warp, like wtf. On front page you can pay from 9$ to 499$ to convert to game currency so you can buy everything. No wonder market is inflated and few items. On top of that are loot boxes that contain ships and stuff. This is not a game for fun, this is a game for crypto-miners to mine money from new players that want to try the game. The economy is bad and expensive, there are few things on market and they all expensive. Except the cheap things that new players can make money of 'ores" As a new player you earn 1-10kgrp per mission, 17kgrp per mining with a 50mil cargo ship(13grp per refined ore) per hour and the ships cost millions and hundred of millions. If you are oki with this, by all means play it and have fun. Made some math and you will be able to buy a 25mil(mid tier) ship in 5months with mining playing 9hours a day. Without being fitted to fight and insured every time you die in space. The in game chat was't helpful at all. They told me farming secret's can't be shared. Or join a guild, like it magically increases my income to be able to buy something, or just farm like a maniac to be able to buy a ship in 5 months that porbably get destroyed later on and then another 5 months of farming till i get to "end game" and earn better, how much? nobody tells it's all a secret. This game is a crypto-mining platform, not a game that you can have fun in. Hell in eve online i could get a plex(the subscription brought with ingame money) while being in trial and pay for a mid tier ship to farm npcs and fit my nullsec miner while selling ore and play the market(one thing that i didn't do in csc). But still doing that it's tiresome and get burned pretty quick, now think about csc...instead of 15days to get 2 ships and a plex which i could buy a lot of ships with the worth of it. Here you need 5 months to get a non fitted ship. Game is buggy, sometimes you can't undock if you browse your inventory. Need to click on other things to lose the bug then undock. You want to warp somewhere on a map and if you click your menu you either stop your ship or it warps somewhere else on the map.People and devs just say to log off every time it happens. It's not acceptable this game should be on open beta test not released as a full game. If you want this type of game better play EVE/StarTrek probably less p2w than this and more player base and more balanced market.Watched some streamers, whatever guides that i could get my hands on,testing in game and made my own opinion this game is more grindy than an asian mmorpg with more or the same p2w shop.Middle finger to greedy devs. Most of the tumbs up reviews are from paid bots or twitch partners. Also don't get bated by people in this steam forum. They will say you can farm and do something as a free player, but when you try it you couldnt. So they simply like too bait, lie and tell people farming 5copper per hours in any game is very good and tell you to keep it going till you be able to get your lvl2 shiny armor that costs 1gold each and higher levels tenfold that price...it's simply sad...
Absolutely one of the worst messes of a game ive ever played. Check my steam catalog ive played plenty. I have less than 10 reviews but this has to be said... This is just such a waste of time and energy. The tutorial broke 3 times, its an absolute dumpster fire of a game. AVOID.
This is not a game, it's a cash shop with elaborate graphics. The entire economy is build around the cash shop.
The game has the look/feel of an imported Chinese mobile/browser title. However, if you can look past this, it almost feels like there may be decent game underneath. I tried playing through the tutorials. It was a little frustrating due to a confusing control scheme, and some unclear instructions, but with a little help from the community (which is very nice) it was workable. During this you get a look at some of the depth of game mechanics, and some practice with the UI via mission running. I became comfortable with the game, and was learning more about it from chat when I made my first mistake, I died. I was a little reckless, and in a bit over my head, but hey, this was my first real challenge in a fight, so ok, live and learn. Here is where I hit the paywall. Your starting ship(s) come with insurance (which I knew). After reclaiming the ship, you need to renew the insurance (for the next time), which I expected. However, the options available were to either spend all my money on insurance that I could not actually use if I died again, or to spend premium currency to get an insurance that I could use. There was not even an option to replace the ship later with in game currency, as all valuable assets are sold only in premium currency. I had hit the paywall. Sure I had one more death, but I was now faced with the reality that to play this game, I had to use real money, or just be very cautious/lucky. I was no where near that point where I could try to sustain gameplay without having to resort to paying for it. Sure, i could depend on charity (the community was very nice) or join a guild that would support me until I could pay them back, but the reality was that I was at the end of casual play with my first death. I do think that some people will like this game, and that with a guild/friends you could play for free... but me, my time to see how I liked this game has passed.
Just started this game and am working thru the tutorial..yes it does have one and it can be a lil hard to understand at times so far, but the tutorials also have videos that u can watch as many times as you need to in order to understand (for the most part). If you are familiar with our own solar system and planet distance from the sun its easier to figure out. One of the things that I find awsome is that when you mine an asteroid, it shows you the USD $ value that you collected. It does say that 8g ram needed, but I am playing on 4gb ram medium graphics and no issues so far. When you log in you will have to create an account but then it asks if you would like to link to steam acct, that all went pretty smooth. After that the login button appears and your able to take flight. Knowing that the items you obtain in game are actually yours and have a monetary value makes this a very interesting game. So far its pretty laid back but im sure it will have its moments of heart pounding action. ...As I'm travelling from Venus to Jupiter I noticed something moving thru the empty space...and its not a ship..off to find out what is out there.. Its free btw..might as well check it out for yourself.
After almost 1 hour of playtime, I still have no idea what this game is or what it's trying to be. The tutorial is pointless, as it's just a bunch of point-and-click missions which appear to never end. Other reviews stated already that it takes about 5 hours, which I'm not going to waste for this. There are many different ingame currencies, with some of them having real world value. Yet the market seems to be completely dead and flooded, and the game itself is selling ships through lootboxes instead of letting the players handle the economy and ship production. My biggest issue is the horrible game and UI design however. The UI is a mix of a 20 year old PC game and a modern mobile game. Clicking things gives no feedback, there are no tooltips, menus and windows waste a ton of space and use touch controls instead of the mouse, and so on. The galactic map is a giant joke. There are no tooltips, no further infos, no clear route planning, nothing. Even warping within a sector is extremely confusing, as the UI is just terrible, and relies on plain X/Y coordinates for stations and missions. The mission UI is horrible as well. It takes several seconds to load 3 mission offers. Accepting them won't track them automatically. You can't simply track a mission while docked. The tutorial dialogues and the missions itself are often misleading and confusing. (Tutorial wants you to fly to a station, yet the mission says destroy T1 drones somewhere?!) Besides shooting some useless T1 drones in my starter ship I couldn't try out the combat at all. However, that was bad enough for me already. It's a simple lock&forget combat system without any real depth or tactical decisions, as the universe is pretty much completely 2D. There are also a few more smaller things to note, such as the confusing accounting system (username isn't saved, but always changed to "Alpha Commander"), the weird and unfitting music, the broken german localization, the random star trek models thrown into the game or the inconsistent art style. I'd say just stay away from it for now, as you won't miss anything. The game design is a total fail, the ingame market is flooded with cheap trash, the developer is selling star trek lootboxes and it's near impossible to actually get into this mess.
