4 years of development and no audio menu or keybinds? ok
I got this game thinking it would be like other games I have played. it was not. more like a minecraft but top down. I spent 20 min with a crap tutorial trying to figure out how to harvest one bush and make a bed and set it down. still never figured it out. I even looked on google for help. if you want people to buy and enjoy the game plz add more to the tutorial. not just what to do but how to do it.

nice
So, initial review after ~10 or so hours. The game is in a really rough state, but has excellent "bones". The in-game systems are pretty rough and not explained very well. There's help menus hidden throughout the game if you know where to look (which is obviously a problem), but everything works pretty well. Nothing is explained very well, like the "genetics" system or how you earn those points (I still don't know). The building system is pretty awkward, you have to "equip" the building then right-click in a square beside your character to build it. Planetary generation is cool, lots of resources to find and collect. Some of the systems could be cool with some polishing, cooking would be the main one. Farming is in an odd spot, no idea if it actually works or not -- you can find and plant seeds on tilled land, but I can't tell if the plants are growing or not -- no indication on how fast they grow or what all the numbers on the screen tool-tip mean and so on. Research is a bit odd, lots of little tech and, apparently, you have to learn all "Level 0" tech before "Level 1" tech unlocks automagically. You cannot queue tech, so you wait 2 minutes for one to complete, then select the next and so on. Then tech is 7? minutes Then 13 or 21 or 31 or whatever. No tech points to collect, just time. Combat is a bit weird, you can build yourself armor which gives you damage reduction. Then you have an accuracy score which appears to be a flat hit rate percentage that starts at 50, which means you hit your target 50% of the time. No defense rating other than just straight reduction via armor. You can increase your accuracy by 1 pt per skill level, where the cost of each skill lvl increases each time. You get 10 "lvl pts" per level up, which quickly get eaten as the cost of skills rises very fast. So the first few skill lvls are easy (1 or 2 pts), but then they start costing 4 or 8 each very quickly. I never made it to space, it's a lot of manual collecting/grinding and waiting for technology, which is pretty odd. You're a space explorer that has to research how to make a bone shovel, not sure how you'd be a colonist on a new planet without knowing some basic stuff. Also, allow us to run our own servers -- just release the server software as a standalone executable and expose all the settings via config options. All-in-all, I do think the game has a lot of unrealized potential. I'd like to see research queues, more intuitive controls and world interactions, cheaper skill levels and better cooking systems. Also, I have no idea how to make steel items (you figure just putting iron bars with coal as fuel in the furnace would give you steel, but nope). A lot of the crafting is very unintuitive. The game just needs a lot of polish. I'll probably revisit it after a few patches/updates.
cool game, definitely wouldn't recommend if you aren't super into a lot of grinding and waiting. As well as a bit gimmicky gameplay at times. Its designed after games like old-school runescape it seems with mmo features. But as a survival open world sandbox Its quite cheap and worth the price. But if your hesitant i would wait for more updates before buying as well as wait for the community to develop more as the game doesn't have a wiki and it can be very confusing and hard to find out what to do sometimes/
certainly not for everyone, that said if you have the patience and hard stomach for grinding there is a lot going on in there, I found everything super easy to understand / figure out how mostly everything work but I played thousands of those kinda game, for someone who has not it can be a daunting task, not much is explained. If you struggle I'd strongly recommand reading the help section, it explain a lot of mechanics. I love it but like I said not for everyone on top of that by the time you figure out if you want to keep the game chances are that you will already be out of bound for a refund so be careful with that, try to figure out if its your jam before the 2 hours mark ^^ !
Well, perhaps it has potential, but that's assuming some hard choices are made: 1) The tech tree goes from wood to space age tech in a surprisingly short amount of steps 2) Progression is HEAVILY gated by the character's energy, which recharges at such a slow rate as to make it useless (even in a bed) unless you use the cigars, but harvesting the resources (salt and leaves) to make cigars is barely worth it - especially as every action from walking to crafting uses that energy; oddly there isn't even any way to increase the recharge rate, like with the other skills 3) The tutorial skips a LOT of things, leaving you confused as to how to proceed - you'll figure it out, but it isn't that fun 4) The territory system is not ideal, the initial plot doesn't look as if it can be picked by the player - it seems to auto-select a grid space based on where your character is standing, but it may not be the actual area YOU want. It does seem as if you can expand it by paying though. 5) The audio (sounds) are limited to the sound of flies, bugs, etc., with no music in the game itself, only on the menu screen - and the audio is not great, some sounds are very loud others not so much 6) The cooking system isn't ideal - there is no way to keep recipes, and apparently the dishes are randomized each in-game year from what I've read 7) No crafting from storage 8) Disassembling things doesn't return all resources, but that isn't a big deal 9) Farming doesn't really give any indicators, visually, of what's going on There's more I could say, but bottom line - the game is cheap, so perhaps buy it to help the dev and perhaps he can improve the game...or so I hope.
